Savoy beach is a really good hotel. I have stayed there normally once a year for vacation.
The hotel is clean, quite few rooms, with a lovely garden and swimming pool as well as a excellent breakfast in restaurant Tre Olive.
The staff is friendly, the cleaning is absolutely spotless.
A special thanks to Cristina in the reception as she is giving outstanding service and always got a smile and a funny word, all the other staff we met is also really nice but she stands out and that is worth mentioning.
In the hotel price is entrance and sun chairs to Lido Athena a short walk from the hotel were you can have genuine Italian summer life on the beach. fresh and clean with a special atmosphere.
We are meeting people year after year that stays at this hotel at the same time every year and it is a very familiar feeling, almost as a Fellini movie. Also on the beach there are some family that have the same chairs every year, one family told me that she started to spend the summers here when she was a child, now she and her four kids and mother and father plus mother and father in law stays here during end of June to end of July, also her husband comes when he isn´t working. The beach is clean and with a well maintenance
normal fee is 18 Euro a day and that is free if you are staying at the hotel.

Room Tip: Book an executive or privilege room if you want a balcony facing the pool and garden. The only negative can be a lot of marriage parties that are held on the hotel but they are often quite early and it depends how sensible you are for that kind, most of the hotels in the area have those kind of parties. The breakfast is huge in Italian way of measuring, own olive oil, own cheese, excellent service, a lot of fresh fruit, mozzarella and ricotta as well. and sitting outside in a comfortable chair and see the landscape in a morning with the mountains of the national park Cilento is not bad at all, I will never get tired of that. it makes me also feel a little bit Italian, haha! The hotel only have about 35 rooms so it often full, book in time is recommendable.

Fantastic hotel, clean large rooms. Although it is 4 star L this is definitely quality and impeccable service of five start hotel and much more.

However, this hotel is very busy in June and September with lots of weddings. A bit remote but if you want nice relaxing easy going holiday this is a hiden jewl.

We stayed at The Savoy Beach for 7 days and loved it . After a 2hr drive from Naples we were delighted when we saw The Savoy Beach . The hotel is located on a street which has around 5 luxurious hotels - The Savoy Beach perhaps the best . The reception area is extremely beautiful with gorgeous floral arrangements and comfortable seating areas . Check in was smooth with really helpful , smiley front desk staff . On reaching our room it was spacious and had a beautiful marble bathroom , plenty fluffy towels , bathrobes & slippers . The restaurant is fine dining in quality and service . On seating we were presented with glasses of Prosecco a lovely touch and Giovanni explained ( in excellent English) about the dishes on the menu and some history of the hotel . Whilst waiting for our starters we were treated to various " presents " from the chef of lovely small tasters - prawns , squid etc beautifully presented . The staff are very dedicated and proud of their restaurant deservedly ! Throughout our stay we ate in the hotel every morning and 3 evenings . Everything was always of outstanding quality and presentation . Daniel from Savoy providing excellent service in Giovannis absence and also Pasquale from the sister hotel next door The Esplanade also made us feel at home and entertained us with great stories . We also ventured to the Beach Bar restaurant at lunchtime and for 2 dinners again lovely food and fantastic welcome from Mario . A car is essential as you are in the country and to get to the ruins in Paestum would be around 30 -40 min walk . We loved our time as hotel was quiet - early season and we mainly met Italians rather tourists which we were happy about . Highly recommend the hotels own olive oil and wine . They have their own vineyard / farm most of the produce used in the restaurant comes from here or locally sourced ( seafood / fish) ensuring everything is super fresh . So for a quiet , chilled gourmet experience I cannot recommend this hotel enough . We'll done to the whole team .

Room Tip: A car is essential to get around - you are in the middle of the country .

A very glamorous, top notch hotel with a first class restaurant - and very friendly staff. However, this hotel is best suited to events - weddings, conferences, etc. As independent travelers, we enjoyed our stay overall but lost several nights' sleep because of noise in adjacent rooms - from event guests either socializing or being on the phone in the middle of the night.

While personable, the staff are mostly quite young and were unable to deal with lack of AC in our room. The food in the restaurant is out of this world, simply magnificent - but the service is over-attentive and you feel that the staff are hovering, waiting to scoop your plate away the moment you lay down your fork.

As has already been mentioned by others, the hotel is away from the historic center of town - so own transport is to be recommended.

We will not be returning, but would certainly recommend this venue for any large party or business meeting - it is a spectacular location and great backdrop for photos.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the end of one floor - to reduce impact of noise from other guests. Rooms at the back of the hotel get sun in the morning only.

My wife and I spent the final 4 days of our Italian honeymoon at the Savoy Beach Hotel in Paestum. We travelled early/pre-season (April 2014).

The first thing we noticed was that the hotel was incredibly grand. Given that it only has 30 rooms, and is in the middle of nowhere (Paestum doesn't have a lot around) it's a huge and very luxurious hotel. It became clear that the hotel was probably built as a wedding venue (there were several large weddings during our stay), which explains why it is so luxurious and big despite the lack of much to do nearby. It's a very clean hotel and very peaceful (the weddings created a good buzz, but were never very loud or in the way.

The room for the most part was excellent, but our air con didn't work and on the final night I wanted the air con on, and I had to ask 3 times before the receptionist finally agreed to come and show me how to work it (turns out it was broken). I found the staff to be mostly lovely, with only the occasional terse receptionist.

The restaurant food is very good, however it's all fine dining, and it was a bit irritating that they don't cater for when you want a lite-bite, and there is a very limited menu. The other slight annoyance is that the restaurant was playing the same Michael Bublé CD on a loop - every breakfast and every dinner...!

Also, after checking in we were given the wrong room (we had paid for a Privilege) and we had to go back downstairs to then get the correct room. Not the biggest problem, but not ideal after a long journey.

Overall though it's a very nice hotel. It's opulent, grandiose and very comfortable. But I would probably say that if the hotel itself is 5* the the customer service is probably 4*.

But it's important to know that there is very, very little to do in Paestum except visit the ruins (max 1/2 day) and the beach. There are a few local restaurants but no other attractions within walking distance. The most important thing to know is that this hotel is at least a 45 min walk from Paestum station!
