We came because of the waterfront setting in Porto Cervos's Porto Vecchio (we were staying in the marina). The location is lovely, and the service was superb. Food was very good - especially the fresh fish. Prices were way out of proportion, though. We have paid less for the very best French restaurants. The prices here are completely unjustifiable. A good meal that would otherwise have rated highly.

Had read several reviews, thus I must say I was quite prepared. Despite having come to Porto Cervo for several years, had never been there since last night, but I felt like dining on the water in a relaxed ambience.
Dinner was literally pied-dans-l'eau, and food was quite good (though you really have to look well into the menu to find something that doesn't look like a Russian menu of any other oart of the world).
No Italian guests were there, but also tha was expectable. Wines are priced at about twice more than other restaurants.
Ambiance ir really not relaxed, but extremely snobby and pretentuous.
Bill was high, as expected.
Overall a good experience though I would not repeat it at all.

We had no booking and they still managed to get for two of us a very nice table. The location is perfect! The stuff is nice and polite. But the food - it was absolutely super! We loved everything! No complaints whatsoever. The price is really high of course, we had a turbot and we paid 300 EUR for it - the most expencive fish we ever had! Plus wine and starters and the dessert, so you can easily spend more that 500 EUR per 2. So be prepared! The food is very good though!

The place is in a splendid location in the gulf of Porto Cervo, the pearl of Costa Smeralda in Sardinia. In season it is possible to eat almost "feet in the water". The place is elegant, staff is kind and welcoming, the outfit spotless. Atmosphere is just perfect albeit the restaurant is quite big and can accomodate many clients.
What is lacking is some "personality" in the food. The resto is "Sheraton" and as such the impression that industrial efficiency is applied to the business so that the final result about food itself is "average". just a quick example, we had some "fish tartare" that was clearly not "made on the spot" but "out from the fridge"... I admit we were in a business dinner and probably quality goes up if you get there on a private occasion (I will check again).
Price aligned with the area and the situation (i.e. high). Good wine selection, with clear roots in the Sardinian territory (many very good labels, reds and whites).
Overall, trendy.

On our first night in Sardinia, we took the recommendation of our concierge on where to eat. BIG MISTAKE. Italian food should be beautiful, fresh and simple. A bowl of pasta can be magical and does not need to be expensive. This is the kind of place that puts people off Italy sadly. These guys rip you off and charm you both (especially your wife) at the same time.
The food here was well below average, but the scenic position on the water makes you forget it at the time. On leaving though, you are left feeling really cheated.
Possible the most disappointing Italian restaurant experience of my life. Sorry.
