We were told to go to La Tagliata by our driver and also reading about it here. There is no menu and you are greeted by Vincenzo who thanks you for coming and says that his Mother and father are cooking in the Kitchen. It is all family style and whatever they have prepared is what you will be served. The first course was dishes upon dishes of different vegetables made in variety of ways. I am not a big vegetable eater, but my wife and sister-in law said they were all good. The second course was again various pasta dishes, which I did enjoy. Then they served a fresh salad which was just perfect. The main course was grilled meats consisting of Beef, Sausage, Chicken, Pork and Rabbit. While my sister in law and I passed on the rabbit , my wife tried it and said it was good. Please note come with a big appetite as you will be amazed at the portions that are put on the table. They then brought out fresh fruit, and a tray of different Italian deserts. The one thing that surprised me was we were not offered coffee of any kind. We were given Limón cello. I forgot to mention the wine choice is either white or red, s we were given a bottle of red with their name on it. The total bill was 105 Euros for the 3 of us, which I found amazing. I would definitely recommend this restaurant as it is not only reasonable but also you get great food.

“Magic...”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

La Tagliata was one of the most magical places we ate while in Italy. We were greeted by the owner welcoming us to his home. He sat us in a very cute table overlooking a spectacular view of Positano. The setting was so romantic, but could also be fun for a group of friends to laugh and just enjoy amazing food. There is no menu, which adds to the experience itself and the food is authentic. I've never tasted vegetables seasoned so deliciously before. I will warn you, come hungry because they offer 4 courses (including dessert) and you will want to sample them all. Word of advice, don't fill up on the bread because you will want to try the great dishes they prepare. They will pick you up from your hotel in their shuttle--it can run late, so just be patient. This was on of the most amazing experiences we had on our vacation. We are still talking about it far after our trip and recommended it to everyone we talk to about Positano.

“One of the best experiences ever with a view to die for!”
Reviewed 14 June 2014

The family that owns this restaurant is so gracious and welcoming. Mama in the kitchen is one amazing woman! We were so happy to meet everyone, we have wanted to dine here for so long. We absolutely LOVED everything we tasted. All of the food is so fresh, just picked from the beautiful on site gardens, served with love in abundance. Not having to order was awesome, and nothing we tasted disappointed. Every vegetable was the best we have had. The wine was so delicious too (their own brand). Only problem was we couldn't eat it all! Have I mentioned the view! OMGosh… just breathtaking! This wonderful piece of heaven deserves all the rave reviews. I just hope we can go back one day!
Thank you so much for making our trip to Positano the best ever!

“best meal experience of our lifetime”
Reviewed 13 June 2014

We stayed in Positano and had heard about this place from 2 separate couples back home in Canada, We made reservations though our front desk at our hotel in Positano. They come and pick you up in their bus as their place is high up in the mountains and took close to 15-20 minutes to get there. There are situated high up with an incredible view in a very classy rustic villa. The tables are beautifully appointed and the dinnerware is so beautiful that my wife asked if you purchase it. They came with wine and then the first couse which i believe was about 5 plates of vegetables and salads, all amazing. Then they gave us about 39 minutes to digest the first course and brought round 2 this time about 5 pasta dishes, delicious. Gave us another 30 minutes, more wine, and now brought out 5 grilled meat dishes, unbelieveable. Then came dessert, cappachino's, and liquor. It was such an enjoyable evening, not having a menu and they surprising you with the best meal we have ever had. The price was so affordable, half of what we expected. Then they drove us home. If you come to the Almalfi Coast don't miss out on this, don't be dissapointed make your reservations at least a couple of days in advance, you can do it online.
