“Amazing view; comfortable apartment”
Reviewed 13 September 2013

We rented a one bedroom apartment at Residence Alcione in September and we were thrilled with our stay. I thought we would be on our own since it is an apartment but it turns out all of the apartments are part of a hotel with many of the amenities of a hotel. Katya, the manager, was always available to answer questions or give advice as to where to go to pick up fresh groceries or which bus would take us to Sorrento and Ravello, that the ferry from Positano to Amalfi would give us the amazing views of the Amalfi Coast from the sea and how best to get to Pompeii. We had thought we would need to hire a driver but, with Katya's help, we saved a boatload of money and enjoyed public transportation where we heard the locals chatting among themselves on the trains and buses. I would most definitely stay here again and again.
It is just about the best way to experience the Amalfi Coast.

Room Tip: This hotel has apartments with one, two and three bedrooms. Any one of these has lovely terraces an...

Excellent location of the hotel makes it really convenient for a stay in Positano! The rooms are very space and have beautiful views on the sea and town! Definitely worth paying a little bit more for this premium quality place!

The b&b is in a fantastic location with breathtaking views. Very clean, comfortable and spacious. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout. There is a huge balcony where your breakfast is served every morning and is a great place to sunbathe or relax after a day at the beach or exploring the town. I love Positano and would recommend anyone to go there whether it be with friends, family or a romantic break with your partner

Lovely little boutique accommodation in Positano, Katya welcomed us with a smile and a wealth of local information regarding restaurant bookings and bus stops. The residence was very clean and provided for all our needs. Breakfast was sufficient and served on the balcony at a time of your choice. All the staff very polite, even the shop down stairs where papa greeted everyone with charm, how could you not buy something from him. On our last day we had to leave early and they were so accommodating that they provided our breakfast earlier " so different to Roma" the hotel is in a great location, we enjoyed sipping our Limoncello on the balcony in the late afternoon. Would I recommend this residence,.....yes I would in a heart beat and yes I would return if and when we came back to Italy.

This hotel is in a great location, the room and bathroom are very big (shower is large and works very well), and the AC works wonders. The terrace is also very large. However, I found the website to be misleading as to the standard rooms. They imply that that the "il galli" rooms- the standard rooms- are on the first and second floor. The first level views, as detailed in many reviews below, are partially obscured by a parking garage (the views here aren't to be scoffed at, as any view of the coast in Positano is great, but compared to other hotel views in this price range, maybe we would have kept looking). So, we just hoped (and requested) a second floor standard room that would not have the parking lot partial view. What they don't say on the website is actually there is only one standard room on the second level, and all the rest are on the first. So, you have a 75% chance of being on the first level with a standard room and therefore get the parking lot view. I'm not sure we would have booked this hotel had we known this. I will post a picture of the room view with this review.

Otherwise, breakfast was right on time and housekeeping was great. I did not like that in order to speak to someone at the hotel you have to go to their clothing store next door. This means anyone can walk into the hotel and try to access all of the rooms, and it feels like you are burdening them when you have to go next door and ask them questions while they are also working a retail store.

Lastly, being on the first level was actually pretty quiet, despite being on a relatively busy street.

Little boutique hotel in the best location. The room had a private terrace that overlooked a spectacular view of the water and the cliff hanging houses of the commune of Positano. They bring breakfast to the terrace, which was pretty romantic. It's easy to get there by car too. The hotel will arrange a car pick up and delivery service. Very convenient for just 15 Euro.

Great little hotel. The staff is friendly, the place is well kept. It's all in the fine italian taste.
The breakfast is served on your terrasse each morning. The hotel is in the heart of Positano, at a walking distance of everything.
