“Not for American tastes”

Very inconvenient in many respects. Getting to Positano requires a taxi or bus. Getting from some rooms to the lobby requires taking two separate elevators. The shower in our room was not enclosed or equipped with a curtain, resulting in a flood each time it was used. The air conditioner could do no better than getting the room down to 80 degrees
Not my idea of a luxury hotel

I don't even know where to start- this hotel, the property, and this experience was a once in a lifetime dream..The hotel was incredible- it's situated in the cliffs, below street level, so you can't see it from the street. The view of positano was to the left of the hotel and I had a perfect view of it from my balcony.the view of the sea is absolutely breathtaking. As you walk the path to your room, you go through huge stone archways and the paths are covered with flowers and lush greenery. its like walking through a garden and so completely charming. My room was very large, decent size closet with refrigerator inside. The balcony was huge- 2 sunbeds, umbrella, and 2 table and chair sets.. The only negative about the rooms is that there aren't any safes, there are safe deposit boxes at the front desk. There are stairs/hills everywhere throughout the hotel and in the town of Positano. Be prepared for ALOT of walking. My favorite part of the hotel was the funicular which took you up and down the cliff side to the different levels of the hotel. The location was great- 5 minute drive from Positano, there is a free shuttle every 20 minutes from the hotel. I made the mistake my 1st night of missing the shuttle back to the hotel and took a cab, which cost me 30euro- for a 5 minute drive!!!! I didn't do that again... The service was unbelievably fantastic. They hooked me up with a driver from Rome to Positano. One day, I missed the driver for one of my excursions- they looked all over the hotel for me until I was able to meet up with my driver. I had a phone call from my driver to confirm my trip back to Rome, and instead of just taking a message, they looked all over the hotel for me until they found me at the "beach"...when I came back one night from town, I was speaking with one of the men at the front desk( I think his name was Emilio) and he told me where all the great restaurant were at the beach and gave me some recommendations. He was really great!!!! I missed the shuttle into town one night by seconds, and they got another one just for me. I loved this trip so much, I hope to be back some day.

This hotel has the most amazing view, friendly and helpful staff, and very clean and large rooms. The only one critic that we had was the hotel needs a little modernizing of the rooms. The hotel gives a great bus shuttle service to Positano town so one does not need to look for parking in the town which is a problem. We suggest if hiring a car to take a small one as the roads are very narrow. Our stay in September was very quite, relaxing, the access to the private beach is wonderful, perfect weather and a perfect romantic hotel to stay at.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms have steps to get to, so if that is a problem let them know

The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the cleanliness of the rooms is just excellent. It is situated well; outside the town of Positano but yet close enough for a walk or shuttle bus ride. The shuttle bus goes every hour and that is very convenient for getting to and fro. The breakfast is okay, except for the fact that there were flies flying around the prunes and croissants. Each room has its own terrace area, and that is a plus. The pool and "beach" area, however, was unsatisfactory. The pool was unclean and there was a lack of service down there. The "beach" area was not much of a beach as all the sun-chairs were laid on a concrete surface and there was ongoing construction down there. It wasn't much of a hinderance since we decided to go to the beach in Positano.

This hotel was perfect for us for our honeymoon. Each room has it's own balcony facing the sea which is a huge bonus. It is not in the center of town but the shuttle that takes you into town all day and night is just fine. Because it's not in the center of town the veiws are absolutely beautiful. The staff was outstanding here, and the fact that it has a pool AND it's own beach really makes it special in Positano. Others have said the beds are hard, yes but that's not a big deal for the service, views, and fantastic ammenities you get at this hotel.

My room was a suite, so we loved the private terrace with a view to Positano and the sea.
The breakfast is good but not five star.
The hotel parking is excellent as long as it is difficult to find a free parking in Positano.
The minivan service from Hotel-Positano-Hotel is really a good extra.
The hotel is good but not a "real" five stars. I think that there are another five star hotels that you should think about it.

We are regulars at this hotel - an annual visit every September for a long weekend.

Great location and friendly staff. Food at the private beach excellent and a great setting.

Breakfast could do with more variety for the buffet. The bar and terrace benefitted from an excellent, friendly waiter but could do with better lighting and the option of food to encourage more guests to use it - the views are the best in Positano and it could be much busier.

We will be back next year!

Room Tip: Worth paying a bit extra to ensure you get a room with a decent sized balcony - the views make it wo...
