“Prefect position In a prefect place!”
Reviewed 18 July 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We stayed here 2013 in the last week of April . It was amazing as it met all our requirements. We were 3 couples in our 50 s and we each had a room , bathroom and terrace to sit on and gaze at the amazing view to sea. The villa is central and yes there are stairs everywhere in positano.
Marco come with the villa as our tour adviser and he was fantastic as we hired him for a day out along the coast to visit Paestum and some coastal villages. He also advised us as to where to shop in positano and other outings eg walk of the gods , ravello etc. Which buses to take etc . A great asset to the villa .
Our only suggestion would have been ,as we love drinking tea, an electric kettle .
We would differently return .

“Charming, amazing views!”
Reviewed 20 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

What a wonderful experience! First visit to Positano, won't be our last. Villa Laura was the perfect rental for our family, my husband and I and 18yr and 20yr old sons. The villa provided more than enough room and privacy. It would work well for extended family, 2 families or 2 couples. The villa extends over 3 floors, every room with sweeping ocean views, every floor with a terrace. The furnishings are eclectic and charming with the bedding being very comfortable. Full functional kitchen with D/W. There is no air conditioning, but it wasn't needed. The interior was always cool and we used fans and slept with our bedroom doors open. Maria and Marco are wonderful, friendly and offer great suggestions. Our biggest regret was not having Maria prepare a meal for us. Yes, there are stairs, but we became accustomed to them quickly and were able to work off our fabulous meals. The villa is situated close to main street, about 75 steps up to restaurants, shops and about 300 steps down to beach area. Da Vincenzo, Caffe Positano and the Latteria were all a few minutes walk. Caffe Positano is a fun place to have a caffe and watch the world go by, or an evening Prosecco as Positano lights up after dark.

“Great spot and good value for money”

We had 9 people (squeezed) into Villa Laura for a friend's wedding in early May. Note that there are seven proper beds (2 double rooms, a twin room and a single room) and two foldouts.
The villa itself was very good and we were made to feel welcome and were provided with some great information. It was in a very quiet location off the main road and the view was great (as it is everywhere in Positano!) although focused out to the water rather than over the main beach. It was also nice having a couple of large terraces so the group could separate if required. There was a decent sized kitchen and a large dining table as well which we made us of.
In terms of location it was about a 5-10 minute walk into the main area of Positano near the main beach and yes, there are stairs everywhere so be prepared for a work-out.
A few minor issues of note which didn't really impact on the stay too much:
- The hot water seemed to run out very quickly on some occasions (possibly due to our large group!)
- It costs extra to turn the heating on (which we didn't need as the weather was great but may have been an issue if it was cold)
- There was wifi which was good but it didn't reach throughout the entire property due to its size and because the places in Positano have thick walls (the router is on the top level and doesn't reach the bottom)
- As we left, the lady who looked after the place accused us of having more than 9 people as agreed which left a bit of a sour taste in the mouth.

So in conclusion, it's not the fanciest place in town but it has everything you need, is well located, affordable and spacious enough for large groups.

Dear Nick, thank you very much for your testimonial. I'm sorry you was rather "squeezed" in the Villa but you was expected to be 8 persons, the maximum number of persons allowed in the villa. Please, note that the heating is at consumption as described on trip advisor. Thank you for signalling that the temperature of the boilings needs to be checked and that you had not WiFi signal at the lowest floor. I'll try to improve the signal. I am happy that overall you had a good time in Villa Laura.

Warm regards

Roberto

“A vacation property offering good location and outdoor space”
Reviewed 28 October 2013 for a stay in October 2013

We were two couples and Villa Laura afforded us more than adequate space for our needs. The kitchen is very well equipped and made making meals very convenient. We especially enjoyed the outdoor space and made good use of the balconies. What made our holiday special was the attention of Maria and Marco. Maria prepared and served a wonderful dinner to eight of us one evening on the balcony - simply delicious. Marco met with us on arrival and gave us much info on the area, and took us to a wine tasting and a hike that proved spectacular. Both of these people are a treasure and essential in the running of this villa.

“What a great place to stay”
Reviewed 25 July 2013 for a stay in June 2013

The villa and the services provided exceeded our expectations. We were 3 couples staying in the villa for a week.

After following the recommendations on parking, we were dropped off at the top of the steps leading down to the villa. Yes there are a few steps, but this is Positano and it is virtually impossible to stay anywhere without some steps.

We were welcomed by Maria as expected. We were given a full rundown on everything in the villa. The next morning Marco visited (with fresh local pastries for our breakfast) to give recommendations on what we might like to do during our week in Positano.

Everything Marco recommended was very good. We had a day trip along the coast, dinner at a great restaurant in the hills, and a day trip to Capri on a lovely private charter boat. All organised by Marco and all great fun. On the last night we had a wonderful dinner at the Villa courtesy of Maria and Marco's fabulous cooking skills. The food, wine and service were all excellent.

The Villa was exactly as described and depicted on the website. There was more than enough room for the 6 of us with 2 balconies and multiple living areas. Everything was in good condition, possibly the only things we would have liked to have had were wifi and a docking station or something similar to play music on.

The booking process was quite easy and Roberto (the owner) was quick to respond to our emails. The communication with Maria and Marco during our stay was also very good.

All in all, the villa was great on its own, but the extra services provided by Maria and Marco made for a very memorable week. We would certainly recommend Villa Laura.

Dear Paul and Wendy, thanks for your comments on your staying. I'm really glad you enjoied it. As concerns WiFi and an audio system that reads CD, Hi pod, MP3 and PC, I'm sorry. They have been installed the week after you left the villa.

See you in a future

“Beautiful view”
Reviewed 14 July 2013 for a stay in May 2013

The house has a beautiful view overlooking Positano and the water. There is plenty of room for 6 or more people on 4 different floors. There is a nearby grocery run by 3 lovely women with fresh mozzarella, meats, produce, etc.. Maria Delores cooked an excellent meal for us. Marko was very knowledgeable about wine and the entire Almalfi Coast. The town is the prettiest along the coast. It isn't far to Pompeii or other nearby towns. There are many stairs in the house and outside to and from the town. I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone unable to walk, but for anyone healthy, it is great exercise.

Hi Diana, thank you for your comments on your staying in Villa Laura and in Positano. You are right, the steps in Positano and inside my house can be a great exercise but also be terrible.. In fact, I recommend positano and in particular my villa is not suitable for people with mobility problems or who does not like walking. I'm really glad you made a right choice in your case!!

“Everything about this villa was perfect for us.”
Reviewed 28 June 2013 for a stay in June 2013

We heard about this villa from friends who had stayed there previously so we were pretty excited about the villa. But it far exceeded our expectations. Everything about the villa was amazing. it's a great location (a quick walk to several restaurants, shops and a market. And also an easy walk down the steps to the beach. The villa sleeps 7 but there were only four of us so we all had a lot of space. Each bedroom has its own terrace and bathroom and the way the villa is set up you can't tell if other people are awake or sleeping. The villa was very clean and each room had a fan although it really didn't get that hot. The views are amazing as it faces right out onto the Mediterranean. We didn't make much use of the indoor living and dining room because we had perfect weather all week. We spent all of our time outside on the terraces. The kitchen is adorable and fully stocked with anything you would need. We cooked in a couple of nights and then had Maria and Marco come to the villa and cook for us one night which was so delicious and fun. We had rented a boat that day and it was so nice to come home, shower and relax with some wine while someone else did the cooking. Maria greeted us when we arrived and was quick to show us around and let us get settled. She sent Marco over the next morning who is essentially like a concierge. He was so helpful to us that week. He helped us rent a boat for the day which was the best money we spent all week and in my opinon the only way to tour around Capri. He helped us make GREAT dinner reservations, took us to a couple of wine tastings and was just all around so helpful. We weren't really looking for any help but so glad we met with him because he really helped make the trip even more amazing. We hired a car/driver from Naples to bring us to the villa and I would highly recommend doing that because it's very tricky to drive and park in Positano. And while you are there you can walk everywhere or shuttles will pick you up. We did not hire porters to carry our bags down the 90 stairs from the street but we did to carry them up (money well spent). It is 270 steps down to the beach but as much as you dread climbing back up them they really aren't that bad and you feel so much better after you do. The one small thing I would suggest is that they have a supply closet. We ran out of toilet paper before the week was over and there was no dish soap. I'm sure Maria would have fixed it immediately if we reached out but it would just be nice to have it all right there. The villa was so great and we are already planning a trip back!!! Worth every penny we paid.
