“Exquisite Lunch!”
Reviewed 15 July 2013

Four of us went for lunch, two in our group had been before and couldn't wait to return. I can see why. The host started us off with a plate of astonishingly delicate olives that had been grown and cured in-house. Among us, we had the octopus salad (I know, sounds weird, but it's amazing), sole, and Gnocchi alla Sorrentina. Everything was perfect and the location is gorgeous. Definitely worth a trip!

This is by far our most favorite destination in Italy. It is the part of our trip that we get to relax, enjoy the hotel's breathtaking views and become part of a most gracious family. The family always goes out of their way to make our stay enjoyable and we feel as if we are not just guests but part of the family. The cuisine in the restaurant is absolutely delicious and while we are visiting we never feel the need to eat anywhere else but there. We consider this hotel, our home away from home in Italy and would not consider every visiting Italy without spending time here.

This was our favorite hotel on our 2 week Spain/Italy Trip.
Getting there: We flew into Naples and then took a bus from outside the Naples airport to Sorrento, then switched buses at the Sorrento stop. Ask the bus driver to drop you off in front of the hotel instead of the main Positano bus stop (it is a 30-40 minute walk from the main bus stop).

Location: 5-10 minutes to two different black sand beaches much more secluded and quiet than the main Positano beach. 30-40 minutes walking to the center of Positano/Positano's main beach.

Our rooms were great- beautiful views of the Mediterranean and Positano coast. Clean and big too!

We ate dinner twice in the hotel restaurant which is so gorgeous with flowers everywhere. Very romantic. The food was great and reasonably priced. We were even serenaded one night by Giovanni's sister and friend.

And of course- the best part of the entire experience was Giovanni and his family. They really made us feel at home. This is a family run business- Giovanni is the waiter and owner, his sister is the chef and housekeeper, and their nephew is the bus boy. Felt like we got to see a glimpse of real Italian family life. Giovanni was nice enough to drop us in town and helped with anything we needed.

Will definately be coming back.

We have been going to this little hamlet in Positano for over twenty two years now at times, twice a year.
This June we took our youngest daughter to Italy for her first trip and the highlight of her trip was Positano manly Al Barilotto Del Nonno.
Our love affair with this now hotel is because of the family that owns an operates this gem of Positano. With the addition of five new rooms and now all rooms have air conditioning, it makes it a perfect stop.
Now to the food. There is no kitchen in Italy that I know of that produces such wonderful dishes for every taste. Your eyes will have a feast before you even take their food to your lips. I don't like telling people about this gem because I want to make sure we have a room when we decide to go again. But we love the families so much and want them to be successful as they have been for more years than we have been coming to visit. Yes, as Giovanni says it is "Paradise"

Room Tip: The new rooms are over the restaurant and are furnished in new decor. All the rooms overlook the oc...

Amazing little hotel with a great morning breakfast and great restaurant as well. Its close enough to Positano proper (5 minute drive) and even if you don't have a car, its an easy (and very nice) 20-30 minute walk. You can also take a short walk down the mountain to a local beach. The family owners are very nice and welcoming and most if not all rooms have great sea views.

We chose to go here with our guests after our wedding in Positano, we happend upon this place last year and knew we found a gem. Giovanni thank you so much for the most wonderful evening of my life. The food was amazing, your family is amazing, the cake amazing, and of course the singing. This place is so special do not miss it. The views of the Amalfi Coast are also amazing. Can't wait to return......in fact we did the next night!

Room Tip: Did not stay here just dinner

We went to this restaurant twice in our 1 week inPositano. it is simple but fresh and delicious food. Giovanni and his family made us feel so welcome. It is very casual and laid back. Giovanni waits on you himself. the second day, we were too tired to try going into Positano. We called at the end of the day. because it was raining, he came and picked us (7 people) in his van. Again the food was delicious!! At the end of the meal we were serenaded by family members. A truly heart warming and lovely experience.
