“Fantastic stay in a family suite”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

We were traveling with 2 little children (aged 5 and 14 months) and this hotel has 2 family suites with 1 large king bedroom 1.5 baths (so kids have their own to use) and a separate sleeping area for children which closes off with a curtain. The room was beautifully appointed with large white orchid plants throughout, tan colored linen cushions and arm chairs, as well as antique wooden furniture with in-lays. The main bathroom had a breathtaking view of the ocean, hand-painted Italian tiles and a jacuzzi tub. My only reservation was that I wished the children's area was an actual room with a door I can close off at night. Breakfast each morning consisted of eggs, fresh fruit, cold cuts, yogurts, variety of baked goods and coffees. Michaele in the dining room was the sweetest server ever, making our 5 yo feel especially welcome. Front desk staff was super friendly, accommodated our daily requests for warm milk for the baby in a room, several times a day at no extra charge. As well as provided as with information and tips. This hotel is located next door to Sirenuse, with same exact views at very reasonable, although not cheap price. When we go back to Positano we will stay here again.

Nice, quaint hotel. Our room had a balcony with a breathtaking view. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. If we needed anything, all we had to do was ask and they made it happen. Breakfast was always brought to our room and set up on the balcony. Incredibly comfortable bed - I think it was a memory foam mattress. After walking up and down steps and inclines all day it was great to fall into such a comfortable sleep. Room was cleaned very well each day and there was turn down service in the evenings. No bar or restaurant actually at the hotel, but they were associated with the Restaurant Covo Dei Saraceni (an excellent restaurant). Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: The best rooms are on the 2nd and 3rd level below the reception area.

Perfect location, amazing views (we upgraded to a sea-view with a terrace), great (yet simple) breakfast included. Great restaurant recommendations, overall the ladies at the desk are extremely helpful.

We loved our stay here.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a see view with a terrace, we slept to the sound of the ocean!

My sister and I spent a few days here during the summer. We did a lot of research in trying to find a hotel because we didn't want to have to walk up and down hundreds of steps to/from the hotel so this was perfect. It was a short walk to the beach and to the restaurants and stores. Our initial choice was Hotel Buca Di Bacco but it was fully booked so we went with our 2nd choice and so glad we did!

To get here, we left from Florence, took a train to Naples and then used the car service DriveAmalfi and got driven to our hotel in about an hour.

Hotel was perfectly located. We were in room 209 and very spacious. The view was out of this world and we had a small balcony where we sat to enjoy the views. The furnishing, though not what I was used to, was quaint but went with the whole Positano look and feel.

Staff was great and was very helpful about providing recommendations. Breakfast was great too. Lots of excellent choices to eat at breakfast.

The ferry port is also a close walk so you can go there to take ferries to other locations such as Capri, which we .

We had dinner at their sister hotel Covo dei Saraceni down by the beach. Excellent service. Well crafted food dishes.

Overall a great hotel and perfectly located. If you are looking for somewhere close to the beach and don't want to walk tons of steps to get around, this is your best bet!

After LOTS of reviews before traveling to Amalfi Coast.....did I say LOTS....we chose Hotel l'Ancora with fingers crossed hoping their good reviews would not let us down. After traveling in Italy for 2 whirlwind weeks with friends.... my husband and I had a few remaining vacation days for R & R to spend alone before we returned home.
Hotel l'Ancora was a wonderful find! Location was perfect and the walk down the hill was great especially with the "short cut" the staff told us about. We travel a lot and the staff and hospitality here were exceptional. All you have to do is tell them, who, what, where, when and why and they will point you in the right direction! They speak perfect English and will arrange restaurant reservations/transportation pick up, bus info, shuttle info...whatever is needed. We especially enjoyed the "breakfast" gentleman.....great omelets and wonderful coffee all served with a smile and usually a song...We loved the hotel room (everything was white, comfortable and romantic) great jacuzzi tub and a wonderful view/balcony thru the wooden shutter doors. Spent only 3 wonderful, romantic days here and would not hesitate to return again for a longer stay. We loved Positano! Grazie!! Ciao, Ciao!

Room Tip: We chose a superior room for the sea view balcony and jacuzzi

Very good location on mountain top facing the ocean with a spectacular view of the town.
Fifteen minute walk down hill to the beach through shopping areas.
Rooms and bathrooms are spacious and very contemporary in design, Balcony is large with an amazing view. Staff is warm, friendly & spoke excellent English. Domenico was the star at reception. Breakfast was very good .
We were very lucky to have an availability to upgrade to this room for 80 extra Euros per day , since CIT Tours have booked us a very poorly located room that faces a wall instead of the ocean and adjacent to the noisy breakfast room !

Room Tip: Stay away from the room(s) with wall view !!
