Wonderful location midway up the hillside - a short walk to the beach/central area, yet out of the way of the main crowds. Our suite was very spacious, with great views off of the terrace. The terrace was nice to relax on with a table/chairs and also reclining chairs. We also loved use of the sister hotel pool. It was about a ten minute walk, but a great location overlooking the harbor and Positano from a different viewpoint, and great poolside bar/food service too. Wonderful to relax there after a day sightseeing. The front desk staff at L'Ancora - Giuseppe and Carmen - were extremely helpful, and assisted us with planning a trip to the Naples Archeological museum on our return (which I highly recommend!). This hotel does not get a 5 star because: the breakfast was just fair, the room did not have enough dresser space, and there was a paint supply storage closet outside of our room which was smelly (although the smell did not penetrate our room) Also, we had some minor construction/renovation work being done in the hotel just below ours, which was a bit noisy, but I assume that was temporary. We were in suite 221.
