“Very nice Hotel”
Reviewed 13 June 2014

Last time we visited Positano, we stayed at the Punta Regina. They are related to the Miramare.
While both are very nice, I think the rooms are a little larger at Punta Regina and the roof top breakfast room with pool sets Punta Regina apart. The biggest issue we have location due to the steps that you have to go down. We counted over 200 steps to the beach alone, and that is fine going down, but a pain going up. Anyone with a leg problem or the elderly would not be happy with this hotel. The views are much better though and the staff is very nice and helpful. As long as you are healthy and able bodied, you will enjoy this hotel.

This is a very nice hotel but you need to be prepared for the 100 steps to get to it. That is right I said 100. We had to lug our suitcases down but they do carry them up for you at check out. You need to go up the 100 to get to all shops restaurants etc so if you like to be able to go back to your room frequently or if you have any knee problems -stay somewhere else. Views are amazing but there are no showers only tubs with handheld sprayers. Breakfast room is beautiful and the breakfast is excellent. Staff was friendly.

Hotel Miramare was an excellent hotel to stay for our first visit to Positano/Amalfi Coast. We arrived late at night after an evening train to Naples, and took a private car service to Positano. Upon arrival, we were a bit disappointed to find a rather small standard room (even by European standards, we believe) that wasn't even that clean (the bathroom needs updating, and there were some dead bugs on the floor and on the walls). But we will say that the disappointment ended there. The bed was very comfortable and the A/C worked perfectly. The views from our spacious balcony were top-notch, and the breakfast offerings were quite satisfying (assortment of pastries, breads, fruit, meats and cheeses--all pretty standard and nothing extraordinary but we had no complaints). The location of Miramare is great: about a 15 minute walk down to the beach and a 5 minute hike up to the main road (if you have heavy bags or require assistance transporting bags, you will want to call the hotel ahead of time to send a porter!). There is really no parking for the hotel, save a few spots up on the main road that look barely sufficient for 2-3 Fiat 500s, and I have no idea what the charges are for parking.

Rosita might be one of the most gracious and helpful concierges/hostesses we have ever encountered. Her demeanor will warm up any weary traveler and she tirelessly works to help you make reservations or plan itineraries.

Overall, I would rate this somewhere between average/good to very good but Rosita pushes it up to a Very Good. Would definitely stay again and would also recommend to others.

We stayed at this hotel for our wedding and they were most helpful and accommodating. We had a lovely room with a view from the bathroom that was stunning. Staying in Positano is not for those who find it hard to climb steps but it's worth it! The only down side for me was the breakfasts, which were not as good as they could have been. Otherwise no complaints only praise.

Room Tip: All rooms have a sea view so it's just a question of the size you want

We spent three nights at Hotel Miramare in a lovely spacious room with a fantastic view from the lovely balcony. The bathroom with its two windows overlooking the sea was very unusual and well equipped. The bougainvillea-filled breakfast room was beautiful even if the service at breakfast was rather inattentive.
We were given useful advice about places to visit and restaurants to eat.
We really loved Positano and this hotel was a good base.

Beautiful hotel overlooking the beach and ocean. Each room has a lovely balcony. There is a delicious breakfast each morning on a lovely enclosed patio. Rosita is an incredible hostess who is so warm and friendly. She is always willing to help you plan your day or make reservations. This was my second stay and I would highly recommend it. There are many steps up and down to get to the hotel so you do need to be able to climb lots of stairs!

We endeavor every day to provide a memorable holiday experience for our clients. To learn that you found the hotel beautiful and the view from your balcony pleasing and that you enjoyed our pretty breakfast room is music to our ears. To understand that this was your second visit encourages me and the entire staff of the Miramare to continue to work to maintain the standards which we have set for ourselves and our guests. A personal 'thank you' for your kind words for me. I truly enjoy making a suggestion to a client, whether it be a restaurant, a boat excursion or sightseeing by car and having them return and tell me that it was just what they were hoping for. It is my pleasure. One thing that I cannot do is change the number of steps, but most people handle it and some even allow themselves a delectable, cold scoop of Gelato as a reward...after all they've already walked off the calories on the steps.

Thank You for enjoying your stay at the Hotel Miramare. I and the Staff were pleased to serve you and hope that we will get the chance to do so again.

Nothing is easy to find on the Amalfi Coast. By pure luck or blessings we found this hotel with no trouble. It is perfectly located with the most magnificent views of the coastline, the sea, and the beautiful mountainside of the quaint village.

The best was the people who took care of the hotel. In particular, Rosita. She made everyone feel like family and would do anything to assist us. Her recommendations for things to do and restaurants were fantastic. She even had someone repair a flat tire we needed to fix.

If we were to see Italy again, we would stay a week here alone.
