“Very Charming”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 September 2013 via mobile

We stayed here for 3 nights in a superior sea view room. Wow - what a room! Very spacious, light and beautiful charming furniture. Our terrace was huge - lots of space and had x2 sun loungers, a table and x2 chairs. View is out of this world! Bathroom had a jacuzzi bath which was very nice. Free wifi. Breakfast continental and lovely to be served in room. This is a B&b and not a hotel so no restaurant etc but this was not a problem for us and all b&bs are mainly like this in Positano.

After staying 2 awful nights in Ercolano my expectations for the rest of my trip to Amalfi were low. After initial trouble finding the hotel I was greeted by lovely, friendly front desk staff (possibly the only tourist friendly/polite service staff encountered on my 5 day break in Italy) who showed me to my beautiful. simple, comfortable room complete with a well appointed bathroom and an amazing balcony with views over the sea. Stunning. Air con worked a treat. Breakfast was delicious. The staff were helpful in organising excursions. The bed was very comfortable. All in, superb. And from what I heard from friends staying in Positano I was delighted to have chosen Villa Rosa.

Room Tip: Sea view balcony must be had - breakfast overlooking the sea. Lovely.

Let's start saying that every single hotel in Positano is overpriced during the summer months and not only. Villa Rosa makes no exception. This is a nice residence with nice rooms ( spacious, clean and plenty of natural light, all with small terrace ) but cannot be called hotel and definitely not a 4 star. There is no restaurant, not even a breakfast room, no bar, not even a mini bar in your room. My terrace was nice, but overlooked the Sirenuse car-park that spoilt the view.
Breakfast is served on your terrace that may be nice, but is cheap with poor coffee ( here ??) hot dishes charged separately and expensive, cheap cereals and fresh orange juice ( in this part of the world ???) is not available. Bathroom was a good size, but with no shower and the HORRIBLE curtains in the tub ! Toiletries is cheap and poor ( no conditioner for example) I asked for a proper hairdryer and they did not have it ! At my arrival no one helped with my bag ( a lady escorted me to my room and not even asked if I needed help!). WI_FI does not work properly and I found really expensive to pay 200 Euros for this poor experience. Won't come back and won't recommend it. Frankly for this money you can find better than this !

Room Tip: Do not pay more than 120 Euros

Second time staying here. Very hospitable hotel staff, warm and friendly. Great help at front desk which is key if you don't speak Italian. Comfortable beds and a great balcony with spectacular view of Positano. Short walk to the beach, but a lot of steps going through the town. Bring comfy shoes, and swimming booties as the beach is pebbly.

Room Tip: Pick a room on one of the upper floor with a beach view

We arrived at Positano after a long drive from Taormina (Sicily). The Amalfi coast is unique, all along the way, from Salerno to Sorrento. Each curve of this long winding road (Nastro Azzurro or Blue Ribbon) offers breathtaking views of the Mediterranean and of typical Italian villages hanging from the mountain cliffs. For us, Positano was one of the best, and Villa Rosa made it even better.
We stayed two nights in a quadruple room with a exceptional balcony., where breakfast was served every morning.
The hotel is very clean, and staff most helpful. Every detail is taken care of, providing a "luxurious" feeling all around.
Location is perfect, just a few steps away from Positano's "center" (it is actually a little road leading down to the beach, lined with charming shops).
The beach is rather small, just as the whole village.
Parking is easy: you drop your car at the front of the hotel, the hotel calls the parking garage, they pick it up and bring it back when you check out.
At our request upon reservation, the hotel had made arrangements for our excursion to Capri, which turned out to be a marvelous experience for the whole family.
Don't miss Bruno, an excellent restaurant a block away from Villa Rosa, with tables on the sidewalk offering amazing views of the town and the deep-blue Mediterranean. Be sure to arrive early or make a reservation.
We spent two unforgettable days in Positano, feeling like movie stars in this incredible place. I would definitely come back!

Room Tip: Our quadruple room had a wide balcony with plants, a garden table with four chairs and two sun chair...

BASICALLY...
This hotel exceeded our expectations and was a great highlight of our honeymoon. The view was stunning, the room was fantastic, the location was perfect, and we want to go back again!!!

ROOM TYPE
Standard Room with Sea View, room #25

ROOM
-our room was spacious and clean
-our terrace was probably almost the same size as the bedroom! Ohh, the terrace; I would never be able to stop talking about how much we loved the terrace!
-i liked the big closet and the area for our suitcases
-a tall dressing table was convenient
-the bed was nice and comfortable, but I think it was made up of 2 single beds? We could feel the thin gap right in the middle of the bed
-the pillows were abit flat for my preference, but not too bad
-the shower was nice and relaxing with good water pressure

VIEW
-oh my god, the view!!! I don't want to make this review a 10000-word review, so I will let my photos speak for me! The view was our favourite thing about the room

AMENITIES
-free wifi; the connection was pretty good
-the air conditioner / heater was very efficient and easy to adjust
-the flat tv is abit small (I think it's a computer monitor?) but we didn't spend much time watching tv anyway

LOCATION
-the location was perfect, about 2 minutes walk to the staircases going down to the main beach area of Positano

SERVICE
-the staff were very nice, friendly and professional
-the concierge were efficient and helpful
-the reception kept our room key for us everytime we went out, so that was good because we didn't have to worry about losing it

FOOD
-breakfast was delivered on time every morning to our room
-breakfast was free but it was continental breakfast only (croissants and bread), there was the option of ordering only hot food but they were really expensive, about $9 for some eggs. To be honest it's not a big problem, everyday we ate the continental breakfast and then went to the beach area and ate a big warm lunch at one of the many restaurants available

CLEANLINESS
-the bedding and linen were clean
-the bathroom and the terrace were clean

we arrived hot after a long hot journey from Roma. Our room was very large and clean with a breathtaking view. it had three large beds for our family of four and a huge comfortable bathroom that lloked like it was made for a honey moon,,,this is a nice place , Not cheap but worth it. the staff was very helpful. they did our laundry and made sure we had good places to eat.
the first Night they sent us up the street to Brunos, very good and fun. I would return.
big tip: if you go to the beach ...which is one of the few things to do. they proce is 12:50 per chair plus .50 a shower.. if you walk past the large restuarant and beach company with the orange and yellow umbrellas yu will find a small beach with blue umbrellas witha small restuarant and showers etc, they chage 15 euro but is is much more private ,cooler, and the small restuaraant witha small menu is better and the showers are free so make sure you take 5 showers ...we had a beautiful day there.

Room Tip: with view, anyone will do
