We have just returned from a one week's stay at this hotel and have to say that it was terrific. The view from the balcony was stunning, all the rooms were spotlessly clean and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast is served on your own balcony so that you can sit and watch boats arriving and departing from Positano whilst you eat. The weather was exceptionally hot (38-40deg), so the air conditioned bedroom was a must. The only down side was that it was about half a mile from the centre of Positano, and this was all downhill. Normally this wouldn't bother us, but in the heat of the day the return journey was quite tiring. A simply fabulous holiday, made even better by the wonderful hotel.

My husband and I stayed here during the last 4 nights of our honeymoon in Positano and loved it.

The rooms are spacious, charming and very clean. We stayed 2 nights in Tramontana and 2 nights in Libeccio. Tramontana was beautiful and had a lovely balcony and view. (It also had a full-size bed - not two twins pushed together - which we have found to be a rare thing traveling in Europe!). Libeccio has a little less room but the balcony is larger and the view is even more amazing.

The hotel is in the old part of the city and closer to Fornillo Beach, so it is less touristy and the beach is less crowded. Fornillo is also 6 or 7 euro cheaper per person than la Spiaggia Grande, and there are many reasonably priced beach bars on Fornillo for lunch. There is a restaurant/pizzeria called Lo Guarracino that is about a 5-10 minute walk from Fornillo (located between the two beaches) that has wonderful food with a breathtaking view! I'm not even going to say how many times we ate here during our week in Positano! Great pizza - and try the homemade pasta with lemon sauce - it's to die for!

Breakfast is simple but overall good. I just wish the didn't charge for every little extra like water and juice. But sitting on the balcony with the amazing views of Positano and breakfast brought to your room in the morning is fantastic, regardless of what you're eating!

There is also free internet access in the lobby which is a big plus.

Overall, highly recommended!

My husband and I stayed here for 1 week here in August. I would recommend this place thoroughly. Mario could not do more for his quests. Our room (Tramontana) was bright and airy with a lovely balcony. Breakfast is served on a tray to your room and you eat it on the balcony. The room is cleaned very well each day and beach and bath towels are changed every day also. The location is at the top of the steps down to Fornillo beach which we thought was nicer than the port beach. (There are approx 360 steps up and down to the beach!) The hotel is also well placed for going out at night as you are only a few steps away from the road down to the main part of the town / port and there are restaurants to choose from on each side of the road all the way down. It is about a 15 min walk right down to the centre but we did not bother do it every evening as there were nearby restaurants to keep us happy. This little hotel is excellent value and i will definitely stay there again.

After the white knuckle ride around the coast, this place offers the perfect romantic and relaxing getaway. High ceilings, spacious rooms with fantastic view over the water (Our room was Trammontana). It is a family run hotel, they are very friendly and welcoming, happy to assist with any additional requirements. Good access to the non-tourist beach, although you'll get fit climing the stairs (same as everywhere else in Positano).

Would advise not to rent a car as parking can be the most stressful part of your stay.

This Family run B&B is brilliant, room offered great sea views and the owner was very freindly and helpful. Only downside is getting too and from the beach and the village - lots of stairs - but its all worth it for the views.

Would highly reccomend this B&B - very old school authentic Itailian feel.

Positano really busy, but this hotel on the 'Fornillo' side nice and quiet, don't miss out on the spaggia (beach) for Fornillo, but be aware - it's over 400 steps back up to the hotel. The room size was great, if you go for one of the two rooms with a kitchen, you can take advantage of the great local produce to make your own Italian food, and save on expensive restaurant meals some of the time. The hotel is small and laid back, but the owners are really helpful when you need them. If you go to Positano with a car - budget for parking, we parked round the corner and negotiated a price per day up front, the guys there where great.

There is no other place to stay! Its not just the owner Marco Rossi and his parents that are gems but the location on the west side (non-touristy side) of Positano is in itself a find. From the moment you walk in, the place is spotless. Our room, Tramontana, was tastefully decorated with a great bathroom, comfortable beds and a lovely balcony. We even had a neighborhood cat that lazed in a pot with a cactus just across the lane along with a flowering pomegrante tree. Breakfast is brought to your room for enjoyment inside or out.

But here's the real reason I would stay here again: My friend broke her ankle on the first night in Positano. Marco took care of everything! He arranged transportation to the hospital in Sorrento and then followed us there providing language translation. And this was 1:30 a.m.! He also visited my friend the next day (on his day off!). And, then, he graciously reduced our room rate. Above and beyond the call of duty. I cannot give him high enough praise for his help and thoughtfulness.
