My husband and I stayed at Casa Maresca for 3 nights earlier this month. Lucia and Paul are wonderful! They are both so accommodating and knowledgeable. The location is perfect...only a 10 minute walk down to the beach. There are a lot of great restaurants just a few steps away. The terrace overlooking the water is AMAZING! Eating breakfast outside each morning was a great way to start the day. Our room was a nice size and had a perfect view of the water. It has all of the amenities you need. We will definitely be back!!

Had the pleasure to stay at Casa Maresca last weekend whilst in Positano. Paul and Lucia are a lovely couple and Paul recommended some cracking restaurants and wine bars nearby. The location was actually rather convenient, the walk into town was about 10 minutes down a gentle hill and the walk back was not difficult at all (despite the good lady's dodgy knee). The room had everything we needed, was spotlessly clean and the view is quite something to gaze at over a bottle of Italy's finest.

We have just enjoyed 4 nights in beautiful Positano and as we were travelling with friends had the rooms at the top - 2 very comfortable spacious bedrooms with ensuites and and an unbelievable view straight out to sea. The kitchen/living area is a little basic but as we only wanted to do our own breakfasts it worked for us and there are many restaurants close by. Paul and Lucia were great hosts and happily booked taxis for us and gave advice on places to go and places to eat. Casa Maresca is at the quiet end of Positano which we loved and it was easy to walk to the more touristy beach end. It was difficult to leave the beautiful terrace behind when it was time to leave.

This is the second time we have stayed at Casa Maresca with Paul and Lucia. We previously stayed in 2010 for 8 days and this time we were fortunate enough to be able to enjoy 17 days there. This time we chose to stay in one of the rooms at the top with a small balcony at the front and a large vine covered terrace at the side.
We found it to be very, very private with your own locked gate and only 4 stairs to climb up to the room. We love to stay at Casa Maresca as it is so relaxing and quiet but so conveniently located near about 7 restaurants on the main road down to the town of Positano.
The bus stop is very close by for the internal bus. Great for jumping on to get to the top of the hill to catch the Sita bus to Sorrento or Amalfi (get a timetable from Lucia) or just for getting home from the square in the afternoon after a full day out.
There is also a grocery store not too far down the hill that sells everything including wine and deli items. Paul also told us that they would deliver 12 bottoles of water or more up to Casa Maresca if we tipped the guy who carried it up. We found this wonderful, as we drink about 3 or 4 large bottles of water a day, so over 17 days that would have been a lot of water to carry back to Casa Maresca. Great tip Paul and the guy who carried the shopping for us really earned his money.
As usual the rooms were spotlessly clean and the floor sparkles. We also find the beds and pillows so comfortable. As our unit was at the top we were able to sleep at night with just the screen doors closed and it was lovely and cool. There was a heat wave while we were there but we didnt need to use the airconditioning.
We had an emergency one night where we urgently needed the ambulance and Lucia reacted quickly (luckily they are 5 mins walk away) and helped us out so much. Thank you Lucia.
There was a mess to clean up afterwards as my husband had broken a vein and Lucia kindly did it without a complaint.
As usual Paul, carried our luggage and also booked some restaurants for us and gave us advice about bus times etc.
You could not ask for more reasonably priced accomadation in Positano with a great view and location.
We enjoyed it so much we tried to stay for another 2 weeks but unfortunately left our decision too late and could not organise flights etc in time.
There is WiFi but only on the terrace, but that didnt cause any problems for us as the connection was quite good.
Paul also booked a very reasonably priced transfer to Naples station for us.
Thank you again Paul and Lucia we wish you all the best for Xmas and you can be sure we will return again and again.

Room Tip: If you want total privacy then the room at the top is good or it can be turned into a 2 bedroom apar...

I just returned from Italy and 10 of us ladies stayed at Casa Maresca for 3 nights. We all loved it! The setup was perfect for us, we loved the terrace, view and the owners couldn't do enough for us. They arranged private taxi transfers to and from Naples which made arrival so much easier.
None of wanted to leave, a sign of a great hotel.
Great location and very clean. I would stay there again without a doubt.

We stayed in Casa Maresca for three nights in September. The experience was fabulous and Lucia and Paul were wonderful. The location was great - a bit away from the craziness but convenient to everything. Lucia and Paul were so incredibly helpful and really made our trip. The view was spectacular and we loved sitting on the terrace outside the room to admire it over wine, coffee, books and more. And the value was incredible. This is not the fanciest hotel in Postiano but it is lovely and charming and was perfect for us.

We stayed here in June 2012 for 3/4 days. We caught the bus with our luggage and were dropped off at the top, then caught a local taxi to the residence. Paul (the host) and co were very freindly. We booked a garden view room but we were delighted to find out that all rooms (as we're aware of) face onto the coast, so we had the most amazing view of the coastline. You enter from the street and then the house is down the steps, passing the lovely vegie patch and gardens (very lovely). The hosts were very lovely and even picked up our washing (must admit bit awkward with the "personals" hanging out to dry and being picked up). Other than that the residence is well maintained and with lovely views, gardens and a quaint modest interior that is great value for Positano. I definately recommend visiting here.

BIG - P.S - the street to arrive here is one way, so make sure you know where the place is located otherwise your driver (or if on a bus) will have to go ALL the way down and around to the top to do the loop again (This can be a bit annoying - but i guess that's what makes positano so unique)
