The 6 room B & B is located on the hillside of Positano looking out onto the sea from 300 feet above the sea. The owners Paul & Lucia are warm & friendly-they even loaned us umbrellas for the day during a rainy day. Room was clean but very Spartan. Very quiet except walls are paper thin and you can hear neighbors snoring next door and walking above you but overall very quiet area.
The second B in B & B is breakfast & this was the weakest part of the place. Breakfast was served on a tray on the terrace (stunning views) but consisted of a "crosissant" wrapped in cellophane with stale rolls, good jam & butter and strong coffee. After experiencing typical continental breakfasts, this breakfast was disappointing so we bought fresh bread, yogurt etc locally and made our own breakfast each day. This detracted a bit from the overall wonderful ambiance of the place. In addition, the owners demand cash only as a means of payment which was challenging for us as we had to walk into town to use the ATM to get hundreds of Euros to pay. In this day & age, any business, even a B & B needs to accept some form of credit card for payment. In spite of these 2 negative comments, I would strongly recommend this B & B for any traveler not requiring a 3 or 4 star accommodation.

There are absolutely no words to express how much we loved Casa Maresca. It was more than we expected in terms of location, cleanliness, spaciousness, and views. Paul and Lucia were the perfect hosts and helped us plan our stay in Positano from start to finish- even via emails before we got there (all the way from our home in Hawaii). They recommended restaurants, day trips, grocery shopping- and went far far above and beyond what we could get in any "hotel" environment. We will most certainly return. Thank you Lucia and Paul, for making Positano our favorite stop in our Europe adventure!!!!!

I was 8 nights in June. The owners are fabulous, excelent place, excelent wifi, excelent apartmens, full equiped. We thought Casa Maresca has an ideal location: quiet, in front of the sea. The walk to downtown or beaches is steep as all rental apartments. Paul and Lucia are very warm and friendly. Thanks for a great stay!!

We recently stayed at Casa Maresca for six nights. Travelled with relatives who had stayed there several times. If you are looking for a 4/5 star experience this is not for you.

If however, you want to stay in a spotlessly clean and homely environment with extremely friendly and welcoming hosts and with a spectacular view from the large terrace, then you will feel right at home.

The rooms are perfectly comfortable but basic and some have a small kitchen/ kitchenette and dining space. Both owners Paul and Lucia speak English ( one of them is an ex-pat Englishman) and will do anything to make your experience a great one.

It is located a little way up the hill but that is what gives you the great view. I highly recommend it.

Room Tip: If you want to do any self catering then ask for a room with a kitchenette.

Can't say enough about this couple. We actually ended up not staying in Casa Maresca but still recommend the place. When we arrived in Positano from the Marina we walked to Casa Maresca. At first, it seemed too far away, but that was only a first impression. After some time in this town you realize that this is a great place to be as the views of the ocean are much prettier then if you stay in the center and you still around the restaurants/bar action. When we got to the house, we were disappointed that we did not have our own private terrace, the terrace is shared among all rooms, which makes you lose a bit of privacy. We also were not impressed with the bathroom either, which has those showerheads that you need to hold up (yes, I'm picky). However, we were received by Paul who was as nice as you can hope a host to be. He told us great tips and loads of info. We ended up choosing not to stay and this was not because the place wasn't nice, but because we were expecting a bit more luxury (for which we had to pay a lot more at the end of the day in a hotel nearby). Even then, Paul and Lucia were still the most gracious hosts and even offered to help with the luggage(!). Don't get a bad impression from us not staying, this place is a great cost x benefit and is beautiful. If you are looking for luxury, then try the hotels nearby (such as Poseidon or Maremonte) but if you are looking for a friendly well-located place in Positano, this is it, no doubt about it.

We've just come back from our second visit to Casa Maresca, and thoroughly enjoyed it again. Perfect location to visit Pompeii, Ravello, Sorrento and Amalfi as well as all the nooks and crannies of Positano. Paul and Lucia are the perfect hosts and are so helpful in giving you loads of information and how to get to places and what to see. The very best tip of the holiday was booking us in to La Traviata at Montepertuso which is just about the most fun we have ever had in a restaurant. Do not miss it!!

My husband and I stayed at Casa Maresca for 3 nights earlier this month. Lucia and Paul are wonderful! They are both so accommodating and knowledgeable. The location is perfect...only a 10 minute walk down to the beach. There are a lot of great restaurants just a few steps away. The terrace overlooking the water is AMAZING! Eating breakfast outside each morning was a great way to start the day. Our room was a nice size and had a perfect view of the water. It has all of the amenities you need. We will definitely be back!!
