We stayed here for 3 nights and loved it! The view is incredible and it is in a perfect location to explore Positano. Not too far that you cant walk but not to close so that the view is amazing. Breakfast is served in a beautiful terrace. Although not the best breakfast ever, it is definetly very good for Italy. We didn't eat at the restaurant but actually regretted it. It is very beautiful. The jaccuzzi in our room wasnt working but we got a discount for it. Overall, a great experience. The only reason why I didnt give it 5 stars was that it doesn't have a pool. Would have been nice.

Our one-night stay at this hotel was unplanned and brief. Nevertheless, the front desk staff were helpful and accommodating. We stayed in a deluxe room which had a great view of the sea from a well-sized balcony. The room itself was large with a jacuzzi (which we didn't use). The bathroom was clean although pack your own amenities as there are only small packs of blue bath gel. The television was very small and little volume. The bed was nice and large but unfortunately was very uncomfortable as were the flat pillows.

The location of this hotel is really what packs a punch. It is a short walk to the bottom of Positano and there are nice restaurants all around including in the hotel. The hotel also has much-coveted car parking spaces for extra charge.

We stayed at the hotel Montemare for 3 nights (2 rooms) in May. The rooms smelled lemony fresh when we walked in and we were thrilled! We booked a superior deluxe ocean view and deluxe ocean view next door for the 2 teenagers. Our room had a whirlpool that overlooked the ocean and we put it to good use each night after a day of touring. The views are spectacular. We ate at the restaurant and the food was excellent. The pumpkin gnocci was one of my favorite meals in Italy. Staff was super friendly and helpful with everything from travel tips to restaurant suggestions. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. The only disadvantage is the 187 steps to the beach. Not so bad going down, but quite a challenge at night!

Room Tip: I would splurge for the higher rooms. It is worth the extra.

It's simple, perfect location, amazing rooms, even better restaurant, and without the crazed tourists in Amalfi. This place was worth every penny and then some, nice 10-15 min walk to the beach at the bottom of the town, and every view is perfect and spectacular.
