“Unforgettable Stay”
Reviewed 10 August 2013

Hotel Vittoria made our trip to Positano everything we could have wished for. Our room was stunning, tranquil and comfortable with a breathtaking view of the sea from the spacious terrace. Daniela was outgoing and always friendly, providing directions and suggestions, and even towels for the beach. Breakfast was fresh and we were never without a warm cappuccino during the meal, thanks to the kind and attentive gentleman making it, whose name we unfortunately did not get.

The whole hotel had a friendly and peaceful ambiance- it felt small but very well-run, and for the great price, we consider it a total bargain. The steps to the quiet beach below were a feature we enjoyed, as Vittoria has its beautiful two-hundred step private pathway, which provides opportunity to stop and take in the view from many perspectives on treks to and from the beach.

We were only able to stay for two nights, but have been dreaming of our return to Positano ever since, and of our happy return to Hotel Vittoria.

Room Tip: Pay just a little bit more to get a room with a terrace with a sea view. It is magical.

We stayed here based on recommendations from friends who love it. We had the best room with an immense terrace overlooking the sea. The hostess, Daniela was more than helpful for everything. We had dinner at the affiliated hotel restaurant below on the private beach. It's one of the few restaurants that has an elevator down to the beach, though it was out of commission while we were there, so be prepared to walk the steps like everywhere else in Positano.
The rooms are darling. We loved the privacy of the location. And there's boat taxis from the beach to the central beach. (even a free one). Overall we thought this hotel was very charming!

This is a lovely hotel, the rooms are massive, and ours had a huge terrace that looked over the coastline. Positano is known as the city of steps, so we knew we would have a lot to climb up and down and it was never a problem. The beach at the bottom of the steps (old beach) is lovely and a lot quieter than the main beach which is only a 10 minute walk away. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, was clean and comfortable and really, everything in Positano is beautiful!

No matter where you stay in Positano, you will encounter a lot of stairs. However, it's important to note that Hotel Vittoria's location definately means a lot of stairs! Located above the smaller (and nicer!) beach in Positano, there are approximately 200 steps down to the beach. The beach is beautiful and for 7 euros you can rent a beach chair and umbrella all day. Hotel Vittoria isn't located in the main hub of Positano and it takes about 10 minutes by foot to reach the main town. We didn't mind the walk but I think it's an important thing to note before booking the hotel. Hotel Vittoria has very friendly staff and a decent breakfast spread to be enjoyed on the beautiful balcony looking out on to the water. Our room was enormous! We enjoyed a comfortable bed and TWO balconies. I would definately recommend this hotel, but please note about it's location.

This hotel truly is the best of both worlds....high enough up the hill for awesome views but still not too far to walk every day. Our room was fantastic, large, clean and a massive balcony. The staff were always helpful and extremely friendly. Breakfast was standard Italian fare but plenty of variety with great coffee to start the day.
Perhaps the only downside is that wifi is only available in the reception/restaurant area.
We mixed it up most days, sometimes walking up/down the road into town or other times taking the stairs down to the beach and into town that way. Both definitely had their merits.
Would I stay there again? For sure!

Our trip to Positano was fabulous and the experience at Hotel Vittoria played a very important part in this.

Although the hotel is not located in the "middle" of Positano, the location is beautiful and very conveniently located. It is just a short walk down to the "private" beach and then another few minutes to the main beach. But the walk down is great with breathtaking views. It takes a bit of effort to find the hotel if you are driving by yourself, so be sure to call ahead and get exact instructions before getting there.

The best part about the hotel is the fantastic service especially by Daniela at the reception. She was always so cheerful and ready to help. She really made us feel welcome at the hotel and made our trip much easier.

The only thing I wish is that they had wi-fi available in the rooms. It is available in the main reception (and breakfast) area but it would have been much more convenient if was available in the rooms. Also the breakfast was the bare minimum, but that seems to be the trend around these parts.
