“Nice hotel pity about the cost for wifi.”
Reviewed 17 May 2014 via mobile

Nice hotel in a great location. The views for the rooms are spectacular but this means that you are a way from the main shopping and Restaruant areas. This means a decent walk up and down stairs but if you are mildly fit this won't be a problem.

The rooms are clean and basically appointed. Our shower (room 2) was broken but once this was raised with the staff it was fixed within a few hours.

The breakfasts are continental style as expected and the service was quick and attentive. The coffee was good......

The parking of our car up in the main car park was handled with ease and it only took around 10 minutes for it to be delivered when we called for it.

My only gripe was that the wifi was not free and the cost to pay for 1 hour was exorbitant. I find this practice of charging for a service that is free in most other places in Positano an interesting one as it forces guests out of the accomodation (where they could be consuming beverages from the bar or food from the restaurant) to other establishments that are more than happy to accept their patronage for a service that in real terms is very very cheap to provide.

By Positano standards this hotel is just a short walk up the hill. The views are unbeatable from this quaint hotel. The rooms are simple and the bathroom is tight but you're not in Positano to sit in your room. Great restaurants close by (don't choose the popular tourist ones, walk further up the hill for good, local favorites).

Like probably every hotel in Positano you'll need to be prepared for walking a lot of steps. 350 steps gets you to Palazzo Talamo but once you make it the view is brilliant. If you arrive by Ferry you have a few options - Option 1. there's a local bus which will take you eventually to the hotel or Option 2 there's a service that will bring your bags to the hotel for you. I think they are called "Blu Porter". It costs €8 per bag (no negotiation with them!!) but it's worth it and your bags will be up in a few minutes. Don't try safe money by making an option 3 and trying to carry the bags to the hotel yourself. You'll regret it! My advise is take Option 2 and enjoy the walk and views to the hotel.
Hotel staff were very helpful and always had a nice smile. Cause the hotel is very small and family run, it feels like your the centre of their attention. This is the best hotel I've stayed in while in Italy. Hotel is a bit pricey but you will see why it's worth it when you stay here. Rooms are very clean and bathroom was fantastic. The view from the balcony is beautiful and worth every penny. We use to go to the cheaper restaurants (as to be expected you pay more for restaurants that have a view) and just come back to our balcony and have a glass of wine and look out at the picture perfect view.

I would love to come back and stay here again.

Positano is quite an expensive destination comparing with other Italian cities/towns. We planned to stopover for just one night and decided to search for the most affordable yet decent accommodation. This place turned out to beat my expectation. Staff was welcoming. Very roomy, comfortable and nicely decorated. Even the cheapest room we booked has a private balcony overlooking the Mediterranean. Washroom is a bit small but fully functional and well equipped. One good point to note is that the hotel is literally a few steps away from Tripadvisor No. 1 restaurant in town! The only minus point I found was that the breakfast was just average, but no complaint at all. Highly recommended to those looking for a deal !

Location is great. View from the rooms is awesome. Staff is hit and miss. Hotel is old and a bit grungy feeling but what can one expect for 180eur a night. This is a no frills budget hotel in a great location.
