“Wow. Positano at its best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2014

Great family run apartments styler accommodation in Positano. We could not have selected a better place for our 3 night stay. The family run apartments were the best place we stayed in during a 4 week rail holiday thru Italy. Nothing was too much trouble, Ari was wonderful as was Paula. They made our stay very easy, right down to the welcome Apple pie for afternoon tea made by Mamma. A parting gift of a watercolour by artist brother Dominic was a wonderful memento. Ari had great restaurant recommendations, De Contantino was the best food in Positano and a a great affordable price.

Room Tip: ,try Naples limousine service for transfer from Naples to Positano.

Before we arrived, we knew Villa Fiorentino was going to be a special place to stay on our trip to Italy. Once we got there we found it to be even better than we expected. Antonio was running things the three days we were there. He was charming, courteous, professional, personable, and extremely helpful and considerate. He helped us get dinner delivered both nights from his favorite restaurant high on the hill. He gave us tips and pointers about the town. He was always very pleasant and friendly.

We stayed in the 2-bedroom "Sole" apartment. The first day we were there, we could only with difficulty tear ourselves away from the balcony, the view was so fascinating ... the sparkling, violet sea 400 feet below, the stone cliffs into which the villa was built soaring at least a thousand feet above, bending back behind us and off to the right.

Later that day, we ventured down to the beach, taking the steps down to heart of the town and then following the narrow walking path that wound through the shopping area that was teaming with shops, artist's wares, and browsing tourists like us mixed in with the locals, all strolling along or stopped in little cafes with open-aired views of the water having a drink or two or a bite to eat.

The lower town is very lovely, fine restaurants whose maitre d's start setting up for dinner by mid-afternoon, shops with artsy and well-made knickknacks, the smell of fine leather from the shoe stores, dress shops with neat rows of dresses displayed on decorative tile floors ... the variety of shops and eateries interspersed in random order, sometimes with no walls separating one from the other, woven together by the narrow foot paths.

The upper town is built along the main road into and out of town, route 163. It enters the north side of town at about 600 feet winding along the south-facing cliff, then descending to about 350 feet as it comes around to the bend on the north-facing cliff on the south side of town. All along the road are hotels large and small, villas, and little shops and markets ... built above the road - visible - and below too, but from the road you can only see the hotel sign and little stone steps descending

After a couple hours of browsing the town down below we hiked back to the villa along the coastal road, then doubling back for the final 1/2 mile up. It was like home back in the villa, with its beautifully appointed bedrooms, two full baths, full kitchen and full living room. They had brought us tasty torts during the day. Out on the balcony the stars were coming out, the hotels visible only by their window lights that would light up some of the adjacent yellow or pink stucco all over the cliff faces. The sea still sparkled with reflective light from the hotels. The nighttime view from the balcony was as beckoning as daytime, but more mysterious and as if dressed for dinner.

Positano is a magical town. Villa Fiorentino provides a soft-filtered wide-angle lens from which to take it all in and a great location from which to explore the town. Its fine management will make your stay comfortable and pleasant. In your ample rooms and taken care of by the excellent hosts you'll feel relaxed, at home, and special like the town in which you are staying, with fine appointments and extra, thoughtful touches in every room, some tucked away that you won't find right away.

We're planning a trip back before too long, next time taking more family members. You can't go wrong with Villa Fiorentino.

The hosts were so friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and had the nice touches of Italian tile and décor. The location was perfect, across from a small grocery store and straight up from the beach and city center. Lots of steps but kept us from gaining too much weight on our week long stay enjoying the food and drink! The pool was beautiful and very quiet! We recommend Villa Fiorentino to anyone planning on visiting Positano and willing to pay for a nice space and location.

Room Tip: Our room had two terraces with gorgeous views. All rooms have views and terraces, some are higher u...

This Villa is in nice location with a wonderful view of Positano. We had a two bedroom suite with two bathrooms and a kitchen. It was just ok. The rooms are dark, the beds are a bit old, the kitchen a little run down. It was exactly 452 steps from our room to the beach, and initially we dreaded it but we actually grew to like it because it provided some good exercise every day. It is a great location because you can walk everywhere (if you are OK with steps and a little walking). We washed a white sweater in the washing machine in the kitchen and it came out with spots on it; did it again with a worse result. We showed the front desk staff who initially said things like "Gee, this never happened before" but eventually agreed to wash it themselves. Took them twice to finally get it clean. Overall we thought the place was just OK -- but I guess you have to keep it in perspective because Positano is generally expensive and the hotels there are a bit old. The roof-top pool is kind of cool, but we were there in May and it was shaded from the sun. It's also not very big.

We were very impressed with our spacious room, amenities and magnificent view. Add to this a stunning pool, what more could you want? There are however 450 steps from the beach to our room which allowed me to eat whatever I liked knowing that the exercise would do me good. We would highly recommend you to stay here as long as you don't mind the climb back up from the shops. Breakfast was included and delightfully delivered to our balcony each morning.

Room Tip: We would recommend the azzura room

We have concluded that the honeymoon suite here is the BEST possible room you can book in Positano, outside of the legendary Il San Pietro hotel which costs thrice as much. it has the PERFECT view of chiesa nuova and positano spilling into the sea, private heated pool, personal terrace set in a lush fruit and flower garden (replete with exotic birds), and a crazy history to the room (it used to be a military outlook housing Saracen prisoners - and part of the lookout tower became a bathroom). Maria and Paola left a deep impression with their enthusiasm and service. The room came with luxury bvlgari condiments and accessories. The breakfast was great too! served directly in the honeymoon suite. Paola and Maria also gave a great dinner recommendation - the restaurant serves the best quality homemade food and sends a van to pick you up and send you back.

Room Tip: The Honey room suite has literally the best view in all of Positano. The quintessential Positano pos...

Villa Fiorentino does not disappoint.!
We spent a week at the stunning Villa and home of the amazing Fiorentino Family. We were instantly greeted by the wonderful Chef extraordinaire Paola and she started offering us drinks and provided an amazing pool side lunch after our long travels from Boston. Our villa apartment "Victoria" was simply wonderful with period furnishings and over the top views of beautiful Positano. Our terrace took our breath away! The location is perfect with a local store right across the street. Our afternoons by the pool were a great way to relax after having fun shopping and sightseeing. You will get used to the stairs- it is always worth the climb. If you are looking for perfection and all things Italy, do not hesitate to book this Villa. Every day in Positano was better than the last. We cant wait to go back!!! Thank you Fiorentino Family for making our 20th wedding anniversary a trip of a lifetime!

Room Tip: All the apartments are amazing. We traveled with 2 other couples and got a tour of the honeymoon swe...
