“Average attraction”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

Lots of travellers seem to visit the attraction, poor parking at the top, elevator down to the sea, walk to the cave, a chap takes 5€ a person and you enter it to small row boats. A gondolier rows you around a cave.. A little singing, some interest points for stalagmites/ stalactites. Ok, a little hokey..

“Don't expect too much”
Reviewed 12 April 2014

This was a nice stop with a school group along the Amalfi Coast. The toilets in the shop opposite the lifted entrance were clean and welcome. The cave was basic - much smaller than I expected - 10min in the boat in the cave, going out about 10m then back in again. That being said it was beautiful, it was a nice little extra, it cost 5euros each - so not expensive and something different.

“Quite staggeringly underwhelming”
Reviewed 12 April 2014

We booked this trip on the harbour at Amalfi and the boat trip there was excellent - the grotto was not. The words "rip off" spring to mind. One small patch of green ish water you wouldn't necessarily have noticed had it not been billed as the highlight of the trip.

“Just look over the edge of the cliff...”
Reviewed 31 March 2014

We booked a day trip from,Pompeii around the Amalfi coast. A good trip which included a stop at,this grotto which we didn't ask for. The driver knew the restaurant owner and, suggested we had lunch there and, visited the grotto.
The grotto is a long way down and,the restaurant very expensive so,we looked over the edge and,saw the amazing water and, having read the menu decided to get back to our transport and,eat in Amalfi which was much cheaper but,the driver will tell you otherwise.

“The Grottos are Extraordinary”
Reviewed 27 January 2014

We loved the Amalfi so much, we have already booked a trip back. However, a tip on the grottos - you MUST book a private tour. Unfortunately, we scheduled Capri into our day trip, which, in my mind, isn't really worth it (ok, maybe once). I am not really sure what turned me off of Capri, but when you compare all of the other lovely Amalfi Coastal towns, it was most definitely the least interesting. But back to the grottos. The colour of the water is nothing like I'd ever seen before. Our tour guide took us into the "caves" and it made us giggle uncontrollably - try it and you will know why. These big boats, in a little tiny opening in the side of an extraordinary mountain. Perhaps it was the wine. Don't knock the grottos. A must see ;)
