La Maliosa d'Arienzo
Ranked #31 of 53 Positano B&B and Inns
Reviewed 3 June 2013

My sister and I stayed there at the end of May. The rooms are very clean. The B&B is in a great location. Yes, it is a 15 minute walk to town but you also aren't paying the expensive Positano rates either. We actually enjoyed the walk and took a cab once 'cause it was late at night. (15 euros). The breakfast was absolutely wonderful. There were fresh pastries, cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, bread, all kinds of jams, cappuccino, coffee, tea. The view was also great. Each room has a fantastic view of the ocean.
The owner will cook a delicious dinner for you on request. It's rather quite good. Tip: if you are on a budget, maybe ask the price of dinner before eating.
All in all, we absolutely loved our stay and didn't want to leave.

Room Tip: All rooms have the same view. They are all the same. It's unfortunate that we had inconsiderate...

The service and food offered at La Maliosa was great. The staff were amazingly helpful, the location was very convenient to downtown and the food offered was outstanding. Rooms had fabulous views as well.

Hotel Maliosa d'Arienzo was actually a Bed and Breakfast but it didn't matter as the Breakfast was great and the Chalets were excellent. Open the door and looking out over the Mediterranean sea in the morning was breath taking. The star light ceiling effect in the Chalet was a nice touch and all in all it was a very pleasant stay for our one night in Positano. It was much more than a 10 minute walk into the town as we were told by the Owner but it was such a beautiful place and an enjoyable walk.

Room Tip: All rooms shared the same wonderful view so it wouldn't matter which one you got.

We had a wonderful stay at la maliosa! The property and views are so beautiful that every picture you take looks like a postcard.

The rooms are clean with stunning views of the sea. There is a private beach with a cute beach club that serves food and drinks. Breakfast was nice and included many options. We asked them if they could do our laundry, and they obliged by washing a huge load of laundry and returning it perfectly folded for 10 euro.

The owner, Felix, was actually featured in an article in a 2010 issue of National Geographic! He is a chef and has extensive gardens on the property plus lemon and olive trees. We ate dinner at the hotel one evening which was delicious and included fresh local fish, homemade pesto pasta, and homemade limoncello! Our dinner was 25 euro per person so it appears he changed the price base on the prior reviews.

The b & b is located on the edge of town which is nice as it is very quiet and serene. There is a 15 minute walk to town but the scenery make it quite enjoyable. The Sita bus stops 30 m from the property and can take you into town if you don't feel like walking.

Overall, we had a dreamy trip to positano, and our wonderful stay at this hotel greatly contributed to it.

Went with a friend to Positano for a girls getaway to just unwind and immerse ourselves into the culture and the beautiful landscape. B&B's are not for everyone but La Maliosa was a pleasant surprise and Felix was very accommidating. The rooms are basic but clean and the bathrooms are updated and clean with all the little amenties you would find a larger hotels and the room frig was always stocked. The property landscaping is just beautiful with fruit trees, carp pond (love Neptune!) and resident turtle. The sun rises and sunsets are just breathtaking as you sit overlooking the coast. There is a small stoney beach about 250 stairs (not steps) down from the property....just perfect and private. You are just a short walk from town and worth the stroll. I would definitely would go back!!

I totally recommend this b&b. Its not only a great stay for singles, couples and without a doubt the best place I can think of for a destination wedding. The views are stunning. Why stay in crowded Positano when you can stay here and walk a mere 20 minutes into town. It is peaceful, quaint and the absolute best way to immerse yourself into the culture of Positano. Felix and Anna were fabuloso hosts and we made friends with the other guests. Food was great and the atmosphere was indescrible. Fantastico!!

Felix, the owner was very helpful. The place is very nice and the price was right 80 euros. We visited in early September. Small stoney beach, 250 stairs to climb to get back, but all worth it. The dinner was delicious, complete with wine and lemoncello, but a bit overpriced at 40 euros each. The breakfast was so so. I would suggest to go into town to eat, it is only a 10 minute walk. Nice property, beautiful hosts. Go!
