The hotel is well located if you don't want to stay in Naples while visiting the area. There is a bus stop just along the road and the metro a short walk away.
The room we had was clean, comfortable and well presented.
Breakfast was good with cornflakes and croissants and good coffee.
The internet connection was only variable at best from our room was a bit disappointing so we had to use the lounge to check what we wanted to on the internet.
We did have a bit of trouble communicating with the young woman on the front desk when we arrived to locate the car park which was across the road and down to a garage. She didn't speak or understand much English and we were unable to communicate in Italian.
Only really downside for us was the toilet didn't flush on the night we arrived and we were moved from the ocean view room to one at the back of the hotel. It would have been good to have been moved back to that room once the toilet was fixed the next day.

Room Tip: Get an ocean view if you can

For our visit to the Campi Flegrei, we were originally booked to stay at Hotel Gli Dei, which is up on the hillside, overlooking Pozzuoli. After being messed around by them, we decided to cancel and ended up with a last minute deal for Hotel Gauro, which was over €300 CHEAPER than Gli Dei for our 4 night stay. Now, Gauro really is just a B&B; the bar was not open the whole time we stayed, and the Wifi didn't work. But the room was clean, we had a balcony with a great sea view of the bay and Capri, and the staff were pleasent enough. It is in an industrial area, so there is not much nearby, but it is the ideal location for exploring the area by car. There are also local buses outside the hotel, and it is only about 10 minutes into the bars and restaurants of Pozzuoli or Arco Felice. All in all, we were very happy with our visit, and the money we saved.

Although our first inclination was to cancel our stay here, we were VERY glad we chose to stay. The staff was very helpful and super accommodating. It has more of a B&B feel to it, so as long as you curb your expectations, you'll be fine. The city and area are sketchy to say the least! I never knew that Naples was so trashy (literally full of trash on the streets), and full of so many horrible drivers, but the restaurant across from the hotel all but made up for the unpleasantries of the area.

You MUST eat at the Il Ritrovo Del Ghiottone! They offer full meals (25 euro per person) that will knock your socks off! They treated us like family, so we made them a staple of our evenings in the area.

Breakfast at the Gauro was small but of a good quality. Very typical of a European breakfast (coffee, yogurt, crossants, and cereal).

Internet speeds in the lobby were about .92 Mbps down and .82 Mbps up, but unless you are close to the lobby expect to get nothing in your room.

The water pressure and temperature in the room is GREAT!

A/C in the room was pretty good as well (best we experienced in the area), but we like it really cold in the room.

They offer parking, but it is across the street in an underground garage that is pretty small. We were traveling in a HUGE van so it was a bit hairy getting in and out.

Over all, I would recommend this hotel/B&B, but once again, don't expect the Sheraton!

Room Tip: If internet is important to you, get close to the main lobby! All of the rooms have a window that fa...

Recently returned from a two night stay researching family history. The hotel is small but very clean and comfortable, with staff more than willing to help. Only breakfast is provided but there is a lovely restaurant across the road to the side of the petrol station. If you don’t have your own transport you may need a taxi to get to the harbour area but the staff have good contacts. If you wish to see the amphitheatre don’t go on a Tuesday, it’s closed.

we had read some reviews that could have put us off before we arrived but was glad that we were not swayed. the hotel is only a b&b and quite small, so don't expect large hotel luxuries here. but for us it was perfect. the rooms were basic but clean and comfortable. the staff were very friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfast was always good.
the internet is free in the lounge and the staff will book you a transfer to and from the airport.
the only drawback is that the hotel is located on a busy coastal road but this didn't bother us one bit.
the great thing is that the hotel is situated near the lido di napoli in one direction and the port of pozuoli in the other. also naples is a just a short distance away.
