“Luigi and his family were great!”
Reviewed 9 May 2014

My wife and I just spent three days and two nights here. Their attention to every detail and making us feel so at home right from our welcome bottle of wine and cake to send off breakfast and everything in between were nothing short of spectacular ! The view from our room and well as the dining room were stunning. We will highly recommend this place to all our friends.

Thank you, thank you!

Tim

This beautiful facility in a lovely town on the spectacular Amalfi Coast is just the gem that everyone raves about. We stayed for three nights in a beautiful, large, comfortable room with a balcony overlooking the sea. The owner, Luigi, is a great person and a perfect host. He made us welcome from the start, had bus tickets available for us to buy, and drove us to and from dinner at what became our favorite restaurant in Praiano. I have already recommended the hotel to a couple looking for a place to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary on the Amalfi Coast. The breakfasts are spectacular, to accompany the great vistas seen from the restaurant. Dinner service was not available during our stay (still out of season) but I am sure that will also be of a high quality. Three cheers and five stars for Hotel Pellegrino!!!!

Room Tip: Deal directly with the owner and pay with cash for the best deal.

Just stayed at the Pellegrino. It was lovely. Luigi treats you like an old friend rather than a customer. You are treated to really superb levels of service, from driving you up and down to the town, bus tickets, advice on where to go, great food at breakfast (and huge portions) to afternoon tea/coffee with homemade cake.
Our room had a lovely large balcony with views out to sea, and was kept spotlessly clean. Dinner recommendations were very good, but we were lucky to be at the Pellegrino when the new chef arrived for the new season, so ate there for 2 nights too. It was a set menu - different on each night, with lovely appetisers, primi and pesce dishes, with obligatory cake and digestifs too. Although we were unlucky with cold weather, the warm welcome from Luigi and his family more than made up for it. Very much hope to return.

We stayed for two nights, out of season, and it was really very good. Nice room, lovely shower (so good after five hours walking!!), friendly people and an absolutely great breakfast, with fresh fruitsalad, eggs, cheese and homemade jams, really really good!! And the balcony with views on the village and sea was a nice surprise. Only disadvantage was the noise of all the motorbikes on the road when sitting on the balcony.... but that's the Amalfi coast.

I visited the Pellegrino in March, 2014 from the States, visiting with friends from Scotland. We were the first guests of the season and the only guests at the hotel. I have never felt so pampered in my life as I did by the owner, Luigi. The hotel was stunning as is, but is about to go through a further upgrade, through I don't think it is even required. The dining room is amazing. He cooked us breakfast each morning to order. He drove us into town when we needed it, drove into town to buy us bus tickets when we wanted to take the bus to Amalfi or Sorrento, gave us directions to anywhere that we were going. We felt as though we were staying at the home of a friend, not at a hotel. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. And the views from my balcony of the sea were amazing. And don't miss his lemon cake and fresh squeezed juice, and the fresh eggs are to die for. Can't wait to visit again.

Room Tip: We were on the first floor (2nd floor in US), which did have some road noise in the morning, but tha...

Stayed in early March just after the hotel opened for the season. Luigi, the owner, could not do enough for us. Took us down to and picked us up from the village on our first night as it was raining heavily. On the next days helped with bus tickets as these need to be pre purchased for the SITA local services to Amalfi or Sorrento. We hired a car to get from Naples to Praiano, we hardly used the car once at Praiano as the local bus service is good and you avoid the tribulations of driving the coast road.
Top floor dining area has large log fire that was always well alight by the time we came up for our breakfast. This early in the year the hotel only does B&B. The breakfasts were beautiful on a par with the view, the home made lemon cake is a must.
The room we had (21) has it's own balcony and terrace, which gave a superb view along the coast to Praiano and Positano.
This is the best small hotel we have ever stayed in any where in the world. It thoroughly deserves it's top rating.

Very nice family offering excellent service. The hotel has a fantastic view, restaurant was excellent and we even had a terrasse in our room. Not perfectly located but a bus station is in front and they will get you a parking place if you want to use your car so we didn't suffer from it at all. Highly recommended.
