This apartment was amazing! Newly renovated and enough space for our family of four. The view was breathtaking! Prepare yourself for 139 steps, but it is worth the walk. Lucia was very welcoming and so gracious. It was a pleasure meeting her and her family. We would definitely stay here again.
A very nice place, clean, comfortable, and well-equipped; nothing was missing. And what a stunning view from the terrace!! Our host, Lucia, warmly welcomed us and gave us plenty of useful information on how to travel around. All 3 of really enjoyed our stay there.
From the moment we arrived we we're treated like family. The place is amazing with beautiful views of Capri.
Lucia is a wonderful host, knowledgeable and attentive. The house is well appointed and spotlessly clean. Great location, fantastic views.
Looking forward to our next visit.
This place is magical! The view alone is worth the walk up of 129 steps. Restaurants wishing walking distance. Luisa was always available within a text for information or directions. Local market within walking distance to pick food for meals.
The place is just like the pictures. It's quiet and peaceful with a rooster cocking in the background
Bus us only minutes away to get to all other Almafi towns. The trio from Sorrento on the Sito nuts was scary but the views spectacular!!
I will definitely go back!!!!!!!
We have visited Casa Alea twice, once in August 2015 and again in September 2016, both times were amazing.
The house, at the top of many steps, is lovely and private. The terrace, on which we relaxed during the day and sat out to eat mornings and evenings has a commanding view over the Tyrrhenian Sea and it is wonderful to watch all the boats and ships go by from sunrise through to sunset and then on to moonrise. The house is immaculately clean and well looked after, with a kitchen full of all you need to prepare holiday meals and the bedrooms large and beds comfortable.
Lucia, the owner, and her family live in the apartment below and is lovely. Always available to answer questions, give directions and make recommendations when you need her, but otherwise completely unobtrusive. Lucia’s father, a spritely octogenarian, tends the small vegetable plot at the front of the houses each evening and often gave us some figs, or tomatoes and lots of basil.
Praiano itself is essentially split into two, down the hill there are many bars and hotels and this is where most of the tourists are, at the top of the village where Casa Alea is situated, is much quieter with a few nice restaurants and the “Tutto per Tutti” mini-market which really does carry “everything for everyone” and is always busy, friendly and surprisingly good value.
We enjoyed very much our time, relaxing on the sun terrace during the day watching the boats pass buy, then later in the afternoon taking a slow walk to the beach (perhaps a couple of kilometres down the paths and steps of the village – there is also a regular bus) for a swim in the delightful (but stony) bay before walking back for some supper.
We cannot speak more highly of this house, its owners and the village and indeed this wonderful part of the world. Beautiful, warm, friendly and relaxing.
Casa Alea has incredible amenities only matched by the view from the full terrace. Lucia and her family, in only a short week stay, allowed us to become part of their family. They are an amazing family. Very giving and supportive. Truly special people and truly special place.
The location is perfect. Up high enough for the best views in Praiano. Close to the market below. In between the busiest areas of Amalfi and Positano.
This is a must stay!
