The views are awesome - anywhere you can stay will have a wonderful sea view, and the decking where breakfast is held is really rather lovely: nice to get some sea breeze to blow away the cobwebs in the morning. My room was a simple double bed arrangement with a small balcony, and for someone traveling solo it was more than adequate. The room also had air conditioning so it was easy to keep cool despite the boiling hot weather outside. The hotel itself is quirkily arranged over the hillside, but is none-the-less very charming. Make use of the 187 steps down to the private swimming and sunbathing platform - its far easier than heading to the beach if you just want a swim.

Location wise the hotel is at the Amalfi side of Priano, right by the beach. This is rather convenient I think as Priano is small so the centre of town really doesn't have much in the way of anything anyway so its more convenient to be by the beach. During the days I was more interested in walking the donkey trails than sunning myself so for this it was an excellent location. I walked the Path of the Gods directly from Priano to Montepertuso which was an utterly stunning hike. Be warned though, the lead-in from Priano is very, very steep - the walk rises from sea level to 2000 feet in about an hour. I am 26 and in excellent physical shape and under the 36 degree heat was considering abandoning at about 1700 feet from sea level! Fortunately once you hit about 2000 feet above sea level the trail levels and its a cakewalk from there, and one is left to amble the trail and enjoy the scenery.

In summary, and from what I can see of it, the people complaining in other reviews are somewhat unfounded - this is a friendly, warm, local place and sure its a little rough in places where a corporate hotel would be more polished... if you want a corporate hotel experience, then go elsewhere - this is local and I thought it was wonderful!

Amazing views no matter where you are at this hotel! Our room was clean and the air conditioning worked wonderfully! We had a nice size terrace overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Absolutely beautiful! Breakfast area had the best view with breakfast included...coffee, tea, croissants, yogurt, fruit, bread, and cereal. Staff was very helpful for local transportation, information, and restaurants (especially Paulo). The bus stop was right in front of hotel, which was very convenient. Also, close to area where we boarded the boat for a trip to Capri, which is a must if you visit the Almafi Coast! What a great day trip! Be prepared for lots of steps! This is common throughout the area! I would stay at this location again!

Room Tip: We booked 3 rooms and we were happy with all of them...they all had spectacular views and were clean...

Ok, the views are Amazing, but it is the Amalfi Coast, so you won't find hotels facing a building. The hotel has its private "beach" - not actually a beach, but a 30 sq mts whole in the rocks from where you can get a tan and dive into the gorgeous green Mediterranean sea – this is a great feature by the way. The breakfast balcony is beautiful and you will feel like you won't see anything nicer than that, ever! The staff speaks reasonably good English and is very helpful to any demands you may have (reservations, bus schedule, etc). The WiFi worked just fine. What bothered me the most was my room - I had booked a Superior room, based on the description and pictures on the website - now you can please compare my pictures to theirs. The rooms on the site and big and colorful (according to them some have frescos on the wall). What I had was a rather small room (difficult to open our luggage), with only a small closet and no drawers. The bathroom was also small and the shower tiny, uncomfortable. The bathroom amenities were of very low quality. The room did have a great terrace with an amazing view – but others in the hotel had also and we felt neglected to be in such a small room. To make it worse, I had asked for a SILENT room and they put me right underneath the breakfast terrace, so we could hear the noise of shoes, chairs, etc….
The breakfast is only good – the nicer attraction being the terrace! One day they didn’t have cheese, just cream cheese. Also, the bread offered are just very small pieces of sliced bread, which is kind of annoying if you want to make a sandwich! The coffee prepared by the staff was very good!
Another issue were the towels in the room – you can tell someone smokes in the laundry or the place where they keep the towels, because they smell like cigarettes. Overall the room was very clean.
As you can see this is a good place but it can be MUCH better if management looked at some basic things – to be honest, I think the main problem is that we spent three days there without seeing anyone who seemed to be a manager. The staff seems to try hard, but they need a manager who understands the business.
Tips – make sure to ask for the superior rooms WITH frescos (the biggest ones).

Thank you for choosing our hotel for your holiday and thank's a lot for your review. First of all we are pleased that you appreciated some of the services offered but we are very sorry for your complain. As explained in our website, we have two different kind of rooms : Superior and Standard. Moreover the Superior rooms are each one different from the others, with different size and furniture. You had a Superior room but maybe not the biggest one because maybe it was already busy at the time. We really look forward from seeing you again in order to fix this misunderstanding.
Kind Regards

We really enjoyed our stay at this Hotel. We had a beautiful room with balcony overlooking the sea with plenty of lemon trees all around. From what I could see I believe all rooms have sea view. Breakfast can be had at hotel with beautiful view.. The rooms were nice, clean and Wi-Fi in rooms. Also quite important parking available at this hotel. A nice walk down the stairs & you have a perfect spot to jump and swim surrounded by rocks and cliffs. Boat to Capri also not far away. We paid 50 euros to go to Capri round trip with Hotel very worth it. Staff very nice and helpful. Restaurant at hotel also very good for supper. Remember, when going to Amalfi coast many steps to go up or down this hotel no exception. Just be prepared. If traveling by car streets are narrow. Bus going to Positano can be taken right in front of hotel. Would go back any time.

This hotel is excellent. The staff at the desk were very helpful when we arrived and could speak good english. We were escorted to our beautiful room with a balcony and spectactular view of the amalfi coast. The bed is the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Breakfast was lovely every morning, cereal, breads ham cheese etc. The staff were always on hand to help out. There is a hot tub and sunbathing area and you can go down the 205 steps to swim in the sea but the climb back is hard!! There is good car parking at the hotel and good restaurants are down by the beach(about 5 minute walk). We didn't like the restaurant which is attached to the hotel.. Locanda Costa Diva. The waiter was a bit overbaring and our food was not great. Hotel is situated between Amalfi and Positano and although the SITA buses are bit unreliable there is usually one every half hour. Overall we loved this hotel and will be going back next year.

Room Tip: Go for superior room with sea view

We had a great room with wonderful balcony. Interesting areas to explore and good restaurant next door. Good breakfast, easy to get city bus to tour towns in either direction.

Room Tip: we had a deluxe room, the yellow one on the web site, others appear to be smaller and more basic.
