“Praiano little hideaway”
Reviewed 3 July 2013 via mobile

We went on a 5 day trip to look around amalfi. Praiano is lovely. Quieter than positano and actually better in terms of less commercial aspect. Hotel is clean, basic and ideal for travelling around. Breakfast on an open terrace over looking the sea can't be beaten. Rooms are clean and basic in facilities , there is a small fridge for water and showers could do with updating. Can be quite noisy as you can hear people talking as they are coming and going due to closeness of rooms and stone floors but we weren't in the room much so didn't bother us Praiano has a tucked away little stone beach which is close to the hotel and the Sita bus stops right outside. There are plenty of restsurants and little shops and the hotel will help with scooter hire and taxis. Really nice place to stay

This is perfectly located hotel if you are keen visiting Amalfi coast (as one of stops). Situated right on the cliff, just aside coastal way. Has a free and secure parking, which is great and rare in this region. Hotel itself is on the top of 50 meters steep ramp, then 20 something steps to the reception, and finally if lucky as we were, room on third floor with no elevator. Can be tricky when not in shape or having a pregnant wife as a travel partner :) But, view compensates it all. Nice breakfast on a beautiful terrace. Room decent basically equipped. Overall impression-peaceful, discrete and quiet. Staff willing to help and answer to all your questions.

Room Tip: If not on a sport preparation camp, ask for a room on a lower floors

We were greeted by a very friendly English speaking lady. Our room was a little dated but with welcome air conditioning. The two combined single mattresses were a little uncomfortable. The continental breakfast was superb with spectacular views. We would highly recommend using the Sita bus to get around; tickets can be purchased from a tobacco store 200m away (consider 24h tickets for a cheaper option), and the bus stopped right outside the hotel (the last stop in Praiano from Positano). Must recommend The Path of The Gods to the keen walker, although several litres of water in hot weather in essential. Wifi appreciated, but no iron available. Overall a hotel we would recommend and visit again.

We liked the room, especially the shower, and felt like millionaires sitting on the terrace of the restaurant, eating sublime food in the evening. It is a bit of a strenuous walk to the beach, sadly, but the upside of this is fantastic views from the room, and the restaurant.

Sadly only one night - would happily have stayed longer. We paid the extra for a sea view room with balcony - what a delight! However the single room we'd booked - while not having a balcony - also had magnificent views (and cost only €35!). Service was very pleasant, rooms very clean, simply equipped and comfortable. There's some free parking (vital on the Amalfi cost), reserve in advance; quiet, well-stocked bar stayed open till 10pm; great breakfast buffet. About 4 seafood-focussed restaurants, and a secluded little beach down a steep walk directly below the hotel. Magical place!
Note: the hotel is about 2Km from the main town with its restaurants and the road is not pleasant to walk; a taxi costs about €10.

We had the pleasure of staying at La Perla in April. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. However we must single out the work of the young woman at the front desk (Carmen) who provided excellent suggestions about places to visit and eat. Her enthusiastic promotion of out of the way sights and her local knowledge helped make this a most memorable stay.

Room Tip: Rooms on the seaside have a great view but be prepared for the Sita bus road noise early in the morn...

We booked this online in Sept 12,and going by the reviews it has really delivered to our expectations. The Waiter come porter "Raphael" saw our bus stop, which stops outside hotel drive and rushed down to help with our heavy bags.
Our room which was on the second floor is heavenly ,the view over the bay,we spent alot of time reading, sunning, drinking wine.More time then we normally spend on a balcony it is that good.
All the staff and management really try hard,Vincenzo,Raphael,Carmela, they couldn't do enough.

Room Tip: Window overlooking sea
