Lovely hotel with perfectly fine rooms and breakfast/dinner served on the terrace overlooking the Med. Very quiet and peaceful. The hotel is perched about 200 feet above sea level, but the a quick walk down the cliff gets you to the old marina and choice of a few eating places. The waiter who looked after for usfor meals and in the bar was very friendly and helpful. However the front desk was definitely rather dour and non-communicative. I don't think it was just my poor Italian, as other hotels on the trip made us feel much more welcome!

The Hotel La Perla in Praiano is a great place to stay on the Amalfi Coast. Praiano is located midway along the coast so it is easy to reach other towns on the coast. There is even a SITA bus stop right in front of the hotel.

Our room was very nice and we had a balcony with a beautiful view of the coast. The public areas of the hotel were also very nice and well kept.

They provided a very good breakfast with sliced meats and cheese, a good variety of fruit, pastries, yogurt, eggs, juices. We also ate dinner there one night and the food was delicious.

The staff at Hotel La Perla was great. We had lots of questions and they were always patient and helpful. They provided information about local sites, transportation, etc.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay at La Perla. We had a nice clean room with sea views from the balcony which was lovely. Breakfast was good every day too with a choice of rolls, croissants, cheese, proscuitto, eggs, tomatoes, yoghurts etc.

We also really loved staying in Praiano. It's one of the quieter areas on the coast, which we liked as it's very relaxing, but if you want to go somewhere a bit more bustling, the SITA bus is regular and very reasonably priced, and it goes to Sorrento, Amalfi, Positano etc.

Would also recommend doing the day trip to Capri, which is about €60 each, but well worth it as you spend all day on a lovely boat, cruising around the coastline - a truly spectacular way to take in the views. We arranged our trip down at the local beach at Marina di Praia.

I would defintiely return to the Amalfi Coast and would defintiely stay at La Perla again.

We stayed at Hotel La Perla in August 2010 and it was very pleasant. Praiano is a very small town without much to do apart from the little marina where there is a fantastic fish restaurant and a small beach, but you can get a bus to most other towns (Amalfi, Positano) from right outside the hotel. The room was comfortable and clean and we had a sea view even without requesting it. There was some noise from the road at night though. The staff were friendly although at times we did struggle to communicate (although to be fair their English was far better than our Italian). A really good value hotel in an expensive but beautiful part of Italy.

We stayed in La Perla, which was recommended to us by a friend who spends a lot of time in this area, we loved it, both the hotel and the area.
We liked the quiet area, the little beach just down from the hotel and the local buses should we want to go to Amalfi or Positano, just on the door-step of the hotel.
Hotel staff were friendly and helpful, Rafaello made sure we eat well in very picturesque surroundings. The food was excellent, lots of local fish , vegetables and fruit from the garden. will return. Tip, if you are going there from Napels airport the staff will arrange a taxi for you. We are looking forward to our next trip there.
