Hotel Margherita made my trip to the Amalfi coast the unforgettable experience that it was. They were so helpful and attentive to all of the guests. They helped my sister and me plan all of our excursions during our stay. They also picked us up from the bus station upon arrival. And when we realized we didn't have our european power adapter, Andrea, actually went to a larger town to try to find one. I mean, really you felt like you were staying at a relative's house or something, that's how hospitable they were.

Anecdotal sidenote: My sister and I got lost on the way back from naples to sorrento. We got on the wrong train. We called the hotel and they help guide us back to the hotel. THey even kept checking in with us to make sure we were OK. and it was 12:30 in the morning. I thought it was great that they genuinely cared.

The rooms, tho are on the small side. I felt they were just enough to be comfortable. You can also get rooms with gorgeous ocean views at VERY affordable rates. I absolutely loved having a private balcony. It was soooo relaxing to just sit out and have a smoke in the breeze. There is also a decent sized pool. The hotel itself is not large, so the pool, i think, fits the hotel. They also had pool side drink and food service, which was awesome.

To the families out there, I'm not sure that this is what I'd call a family hotel. I don't think positano is necessarily a family place in general. But specifically, Hotel Margherita would be great for couples, or maybe a couple of girlfriends traveling together.

All in all, I had an excellent stay, and will no doubt stay there again in the future.

This was a great small hotel -- very comfortable, great rooftop restaurant/bar for evenings under the stars. The room had a seaview balcony and a fabulous newly redone bathroom with a jetted shower.

Praiano is a nice small fishing village between Positano and Amalfi Town -- if you want a quieter, less touristy experience. We had a great time.

Just got back from our stay at Hotel Margherita. The hotel and staff were impeccable. Hotel Marghertia is fantastic in every way, spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, staff that is pleasant, kind and can not be more helpful, views of the coast that one could only imagine. This hotel was idealy located, we loved our walks into town and were easily able to visit other towns, ie. Poisitano. I could not more highly recommend Hotel Margherita and the town of Praiano. We traveled to the coast via Euro Star Rail and upon our arrival had made arrangements for transfer to the coast with Ugo of Sorrentocars.com (info@sorrentocars.com). Ugo was great !! We were met on time and transferred in clean, comfortable autos. Sorrentocars is the only way to go. Thank you Hotel Margherita and Ugo for a most memorable trip.

we booked this hoyel based on reviews from this site and we are completely satisfied.
Suela is very very helpful and the location and views of the coast are fabulous! I did not think they served diner at the hotel but they do now and the food is excellent. The waiters are a bit inexperienced but are very pleasant so if you have an opened mind you will still enjoy.

All is all an excellent base location to take in the Amalfi coast.

We are just back from a three night stay at Hotel Margherita. This hotel is truly fabulous, great value and a wonderful location. Suela, Andrea and their team couldn’t have been more helpful, giving great advice about what to do during our stay, and also offering to drop off or pick us up from the centre of Praiano, nothing was too much to ask. The views from the rooms, terrace and pool area were breathtaking. The rooms were a great size and spotlessly clean. Having lunch and dinner up on the rooftop terrace was a perfect experience, the food was always delicious. The hotel has excellent transport links to Sorrento, Amalfi and Positano. I couldn’t recommend Hotel Margherita more, we can’t wait to return!

This hotel is just tops - great service, position, affordable, clean and fun. Praiano is much quieter than say Positano or Amalfi, but staying here adds a lot to your visit. We had the quiet when we wanted it and it was only a 10 minute bus trip (right outside the door) into Positano. The local bus and ferry service will easily and efficiently get you to where you need to go - exploring is easy - no need for a car. The room we had was huge and overlooked the beautiful coastline. We used the local supermarket and made our own lunch - bread, cheese, ham/ salami, olives, etc - heaven! There are several nice restaurants nearby, but by far the best was at Praiano beach - our hosts at Hotel Margherita even picked us up from there to save us the challenging walk back up the 500+ stairs! There is also a great little pizza place just up the road on the same side - don't blink though or you'll miss it. We found we could afford this wonderful hotel by eating local (and the food expereince was the richer for it) and using local transport options.

We stayed at the lovely hotel Margarita for 3 nights in June and had a lovely experience. What stood out mostly was the service, all the staff could not be more helpful if they tried, we felt so welcome and appreciated.

The rooms are clean, seem to be updated regularly as everything looks fresh and the bathroom is also spacious with all amenities possibly required.
They offer a lovely continental breakfast buffet style (very lovely layout) and cooked options can be ordered at the table.
Only thing bugging us was the key-entry which is a electromagnetic funtion that buzzes before it releases the door, not very nice if you go to bed before eveyone else on your floor.... As normal in the med everything is tiled and therefore noise travels easily, please remember that if should you stay and decide to have a conversation in the hallway at night - just not nice for others around you. Oh, and the room doors close easily, they do not require slamming at all!

The food was nice, we ate on the rooftop the first night and whilst it was tasty it arrived cooled down, we presume it is lifted up from the kitchen on the ground floor so maybe it is better to eat downstairs - but the view at night is outstanding! Perfect to share a bottle of wine anyway! Again the staff could not be more helpful and recommended a fantastic restaurant / pizza place in town. They even offered to pick us up (oh by the way the hotel has it's own taxi so they are happy to sort any transport you may need) on the way back but it's only a ten minutes walks and the views are amazing at night.
The pool area is again absolutely spotless and lovely, you can even order your drinks to be served out there in the day whilst sunbathing.
All in all I would definately go back there! Lovely location and lovely people!
