We have spent a fantastic week at this hotel. The room had an incredible sea view and was quite spacious and very clean. Breakfast was amazing, but what is even better is dinner at this hotel: on the terrace overlooking the sea at sunset! People from other hotels came to eat there too, as food is excellent and no other hotel has this magnificent view... A small public beach is easily reachable (400 steps down), more difficult to come back. We took a boat from there to Positano. Buses stop right at the hotel, so no need of using the car. Parking was only problematic at first glance, then the hotel staff helps in placing the car, since there is not much space. We never used, but other people found it very useful that there is a swimming pool at the roof of the hotel. The coast, Naples and Pompei are offering tourist attractions, which can be reached easily from Praiano. WE WILL RETURN NEXT YEAR!

after reading all the excellent reviews regarding the food at the Tramonto d'Oro, we booked a special trip for my husbands 50th birthday. All the reviews regarding the amazing views are spot on, and having a pool to dip into was great, but we were really disappointed with the food which we all thought at best was average. We were expecting gourmet but it is far from that, we had booked on a half board basis, so decided to try the A la Carte menu to see if it was better, sadly it wasn't (also even though you have booked and paid for half board, you still have to pay the full a le carte price on top of what you have already paid). Most other hotels would only normally charge a supplement on top, it wasn't about the extra money, we would not have minded paying extra if the food had been worth it. Apart from that it is a clean hotel with spectacular views.
The bar opposite was lovely and the owner really friendly, he gave us more information about the area than the reception staff, who only gave us our reps welcome letter when we were leaving! she also told us that there was not a complimentary bus into Positano, and failed to say that you have to buy tickets at the shop for the bus before you get on. (thank fully the bar owner opposite did inform us of that, or we would not have been allowed on the bus, and it would have gone before we had bought tickets.
We enjoyed ourselves but would probably stay a little further along the coast or on Capri itself (which was lovely)

We stayed at this hotel for 5 days for our friends' wedding. This was one of the most memorable experiences ever, and I can say without a doubt that the people at Tramonto D'Oro played a huge role. They were all very kind, welcoming, and accommodating. The rooms were clean and the views were incredible!

We stayed at Hotel Tramonto d'Oro at the end of July, 2010 for 4 nights and had an absolutely fabulous time! The staff really did treat us like family and were very accommodating of our young kids (6yrs & 2yrs). The food in the restaurant was fantastic and we ate there every night. The pool was great and a must have for a family with young kids. We made the trek to the beach (400 steps down the cliff), but only managed to do this once.

The last night of our trip was the beginning of the Luminaria Di San Domenico or what we called the fire festival which was a fabulous fire show in the church square. Hotel Tramonto d'Oro met and exceeded my expectations. I'm looking forward to going back some day.

We stayed 4 nights at the Tramonto d'Oro and it was fantastic. The hotel is literally right by the SITA bus stop which makes it so convenient to get around everywhere. The hotel is right in the middle of the Amalfi Coast and you can jump on the bus and be in any of the towns within 15 minutes. Plus, there is a wine and food shop just down the street, several good restaurants and a cute bar called "The Cave" all really close by.

The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant is great. And the view from our hotel balcony was probably the best on the coast. You can see all the way from Amalfi to Capri, absolutely outstanding.

I researched countless hotels from Positano to Amalfi to Praiano and we were really happy we landed here. Smart choice.
