The most wonderful views and attentive service. Very expensive but excellent dinner. A real treat but the "water menu" is a joke. 130 euros for a bottle of American water through to 7 euros for Italian. Bring your own! Lovely rooms, lovely meal, lovely environment -what more could you want.

Beautiful, well laid out small hotel, where the staff appeared to outnumber the guests and were certainly more polite. Excellent breakfast, good small pool and gym, fabulous dinner with separate vegetarian menu - a real plus - and a superb wine list. A free shuttle to nearby Positano is excellent, and on return from trips away one is greeted by almond milk and friendly enquiries.
Negatives: all-white decor is lovely but necessitates better black-out in the rooms - we were wakened by the sun every day. The balcony we had was separated from neighbours on both sides only by pot-plants. And a water menu where the cheapest is €8 and the most expensive €130 - yes, really - would be fine for those with a phobia of normal water. However when we asked for the latter with dinner we were told we weren't allowed it...
Peaceful, relaxing, and perpetually surrounded by beautiful, quirky artwork - really excellent stay.

My husband and I visited over Easter break and were blown away by the excellent hotel.

We stayed at Palazzo Avino in Ravello just before and when we told the front desk we were moving on to Praiano, straight away they guessed it was Casa Angelina. And they were right! It has such a good reputation among the hotels and we had high expectations on arrival.

However, Casa Angelia and the team were angels and exceeded our expectations.

The hotel itself is very white and modern, with fascinating art work tastefully displayed through the hotel. But what's even more beautiful is the stunning views of Positano, and even Capri, as it is built into a cliff. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and there's a delicious in-house rose champagne bottled specially for Casa Angelina. A nice touch was also the EVO we received when we left - pressed and bottled just for the hotel! They also use produce from the garden next door, and it's these little local touches that we relish when we travel.

Daniele, the Front Office Manager was an absolute star. Pleasant and professional, he saw to our every request, even scheduling extra shuttles to Poisitano to suit our timings. We had a few booking mix-ups with hotels and restaurants in the area and he went out of his way to help sort them out for us. We were very impressed by his can-do attitude. We also appreciated his insider tips on what to do around Praiano, and the "secret" quiet beach near by where we spent the afternoon in quiet solitude. We have yet to meet someone as energetic and capable as him on our travels.

The location is good as Praiano is a sweet little "by the way" town and far from the madding crowd in Positano and Amalfi. It's got good trattorias and pizzerias serving casual, hearty fare and CA organised a regular shuttle to Positano (10min away) for us to make forays into the busy town. So glad to have stayed outside Positano and only visited for a few hours in the day.

Our stay at Casa Angelina was one of the highlights of our holiday. Would highly recommend and hope to return soon.

So far this is the most unforgettable hotel I have ever stayed before. From the unique location to the overall decorations in the hotel, Casa Angeline is so beautiful and elegant. The white color tone matches with beautiful modern art pieces, it creates a sense of peacefulness in mind during my stay here. And the view from the window is a splendid blue sky and sea, its just like a portrait in every corners.
The staffs are warm, attentive, well trained and helpful, we just feel so comfortable to stay there. Apart from the hospitality, the daily buffet breakfast was sumptuous, with the beautiful sea view, I must say that Casa Angelina is too beautiful to be real. That is the true beauty of Amalft Coast
The location is strategic for those who like to go for Sentiero Degli dei, just cross a street from the hotel, its the starting point of the hiking path. A must go hiking path.
If you would like to pamper your body, mind and soul, stay in Casa Angelina for a life changing experience :)

This was our splurge hotel on our honeymoon. (Tip if you're traveling from the U.S. book your room on a hotel site in dollars, rather than book directly with them in Euros. You'll save some money because the conversion rate is not in our favor). The views of this hotel are absolutely amazing. You feel like you are sitting on top of the water. We had the Romantic room with a balcony and sea view. The room was a bit small and felt a little sterile with all the white, but the view and service made up for this. They had a drink and a sweet treat waiting for us in our room when we checked in. The L'Occitane products they provided were very nice. And there was always a bottle of water and a little treat when we got to our room at night. The brunch is delicious and was by far the best out of the three hotels we stayed at. The waitstaff anticipated your needs. They all did an excellent job. It was nice to have their complimentary shuttle take us to Positano. We also used their gym and there was a trainer there to work with my husband compliments of the hotel. They also gave us a complimentary gift of their olive oil that they use in their restaurant. You can only take this back with you to the U.S. if you check in your luggage. We had to depart with our because we only did carry-on bags. I highly recommend this hotel!

Let me introduce myself as a seasoned traveller who has stayed in some of the most luxurious hotels of the world (Aman, Four Seasons, Banyan tree, Rosewood, Como, to name a few). When travelling, I like to pick my hotels by using websites such as Kiwicollection, Conde Nast magazine, Travel & Leisure (see my other reviews). So I only like the best of the best. I picked Casa Angelina a choice for a short break, mainly because of its heigh Kiwicollection score and because I love the Amalfo coast. I uploaded a lot of photos here & made a youtube clip as well to give you an idea of what to expect: http://theluxurytravelexpert.com/2014/04/23/hotel-review-casa-angelina-hidden-gem-of-the-amalfi-coast-italy/

PROS & THINGS I LIKED:

- It’s hard to imagine a more majestic location than the one of Casa Angelina in the small village of Praiano, perched on the Amalfi coastal cliffs between towering mountains and the deep blue Mediterranean sea. From almost every corner of the hotel, the ocean view spreads out before you like an azure blanket, disturbed only by the island bumps of Capri and Li Galli into the horizon. This has to be one of the best views on the Amalfi coast because Praiano is located on a rocky outcrop allowing glorious views on the coastline itself towards the romantic village of Positano.

- Casa Angelina is oriented toward the west, meaning that you will enjoy the evening sun until it disappears behind the mountains about 20 minutes before sunset (something that is not the case with most hotels at Ravello or Positano that are in the shade starting late afternoon).

- With its white, minimal and monochrome interiors, Casa Angelina’s modern design is a tasteful alternative for its classic Italian environments, where most other luxury hotels have a traditional 19th-century style. The white hotel interiors contrast with the bright colors of contemporary art including Murano glass specialties, bronze sculptures, and original oil paintings dotted around the communal areas.

- Service is simply phenomenal! The staff and management are highly skilled and offer the best service you could wish for (on pair with the service you would expect at, let’s say, an Aman resort). Whether it is near the pool, at the restaurant or in the bar, you will be served with a smile and discrete professionalism.

- The rooms and suites are exquisitely contemporary, the clean lines and white furnishing offsetting the amazing views of the Gulf of Salerno and the Amalfi Coast itself. Beds are comfortable and shrouded in soft white cotton sheets. All bedrooms have flat-screen TVs and free internet access. Bathrooms are fully equipped and come with luxurious l’Occitane toiletries.

- After a (half) day of sightseeing, you can dip your toes into the Mediterranean Sea in the private, tranquil and picturesque cove of La Gavitella (with a small beach and rocky terrace), which is accessed by a private glass elevator and 200 steps. This is a huge advantage over many other grand hotels of the Amalfi coast, which mostly don’t have immediate access to the Mediterranean Sea.

- Casa Angelina has two small pools. Inside the hotel, in the small gym, a heated hydrotherapy pool bubbles away under a constellation of fibre optics on the ceilings. Out on the decked terrace, a sun-warmed counter-current pool is surrounded by white sunloungers and parasols (with views to die for).

- The food is one of thé highlights at Casa Angelina (simply the best hotel food that I ever had). The signature restaurant, Un Piano nel Cielo (‘a floor in the sky’) has a top-floor terrace with yet more amazing views of the Amalfi coast. The indoor area is fitted with wall-spanning coast-facing windows, so you can still admire the vista. The food, as well as its presentation, is simply fabulous and the service incredible. Breakfast buffet is also displayed in Un Piano nel Cielo and is another highlight with a very diverse breakfast spread (on pair and even out-classing buffet breakfasts served at the most luxurious hotel brands in the world).

- Children under 12 years of age are not allowed, so tranquility is guaranteed.

- During the morning and evening hours, the hotel offers frequent shuttle service to Positano (6 km away), which needs to be booked in advance. This is a huge advantage given the shortage of parking space at Positano.

CONS & THINGS TO KNOW:

CONS & THINGS TO KNOW

The hotel has it almost all right, but there are some minor issues that you need to be aware of.

- The hotel is not well-marked along the road in Praiano (when you come from Positano, the turnoff is just before the tunnel to the right). Some extra signs along the main road would be helpful.

- The white, minimalistic design may not fit everybody’s taste, but this should be a non-issue because of the spectacular surroundings.

- Beds are comfortable but a little on the hard side. They could use a mattress topper.

- Rooms are on the small side, some would use the world “tiny” to describe them. But in the end, that will not matter as you will be overwhelmed by the phenomenal views that embrace you from morning till sunset.

- There is only a limited number of sunloungers near the pool (22 in total), which may be a problem when the hotel is fully occupied. In addition, the sun loungers would be more comfortable with cushions.

Highly recommended!
