“Incredible View and Value!”
Reviewed 6 November 2016 for a stay in October 2016

We stayed here for 2 fantastic weeks and could not have been more pleased with our choice. This villa has to have the best view on the Amalfi coast. We have stayed in Positano twice and actually preferred Praiano for the view, restaurants and location. Our host Adriana and her daughter Michela were so attentive and we were treated like family. When we arrived the first afternoon and asked if there was anything open for lunch (restaurants were closed for siesta) Adriana asked if we liked vino. As we were settling in, Michela came down with 2 pizzas made in their pizza oven and a bottle of wine. There were fresh eggs, home made jam and fresh fruit waiting for us. Adriana also gave us her delicious tirimisu one day and Michela brought us a special cake of Naples that her mom had made. We thought the food in Praiano was even better than Positano. Our favorite restaurant was Kasai where we ate 3 times. The villa offered everything and more than we needed and was exceptionally clean. The 2 terraces were perfect. We sat under the lemon tree on one terrace in the afternoon and enjoyed the shade. We learned to mark the time by the beautiful bells of the church. The views from the steps to the street were never problem as we would just stop to enjoy the views. I can't think of a thing that could make this villa better. Many thanks to Adriana and Michela!

“Very special : Top appointments, breathtaking, OMG vistas, Great owner!”

We've been in eleven -mostly by the week- self cater facilities thus far in our almost full season driving tour throughout Italy. From top (Alps & Lakes) to bottom (finishing in Salerno, Basilicata, Calabria and Puglia )in this latest immersion (leaving out the whole middle part as I'd soon enough need a publisher) and recalling many others over a lifetime, we've never had better vistas than afforded in Casa Gisela.

It's very possibly our best in that sense but such a thing is hard to admit to oneself. How does one compare an Audrey Hepburn to a Sophia Loren, Bach to Beethoven, Cinema Paradiso to On the Waterfront, buffalo mozzarella to aged provolone? Ed. Comment: Enough already!

Many of the smaller appointments within the apartment itself were above any anticipated relative to the price paid. There's parking and an ingenious rope elevator luggage system included: two great bonus in the area saving so many euros, much hard work and otherwise unavoidable tedium). Additionally, fabulous Adriana and her sweetest daughter Micheala could not be kinder, more generous and helpful with their delightful little bonus surprises and support.

I hesitate to detail examples save to say they included a variety of delightful tasty edibles, not wanting to ruin the surprises for anyone coming. One night while sleeping there was a strong thunderstorm knocking out the electricity for a bit. Automatically generated light went on in the kitchen so we could see whatever was needed . How many places provide such a service, one among so many extras?

The vistas could not be better. We love Praiano because it has all the strengths we want of the Costa Amalfitano, but with far less heavy tourism, giving it a warm paese feel, and absolutely among the best vistas anywhere. We looked out to a blue green sea below, from THREE separate balconies in your apartment, this one speckled in flowering desert plants, another shaded by lemon tree arbors, and a third perfect option for outdoor dining or whatever from high above.

One of our finer meals in Italy was but two doors away as well. See my review under Praiano dining if interested. Could one do better for the price? In my mind that is very difficult to imagine and we heartily recommend Casa Gisela as a base for an Amalfi stay, Our next door delightful neighbors in Praiano for the week have been coming for extensive stays over many years and will continue to do so. Parking the car for most or all of the week and using the inexpensive bus options as we and they opted made life much easier as well.

A final tip: we ate only lighter lunches out and saved dinners for at home cooking or Praiano suppers which has so many proximate excellent options, including two places a bit further in town that will pick up and drive diners home following a reservation so requested. Driving to and from dinner on the coast is absolutely unnecessary and often a bit problematic with parking fees, prudent beverage discipline and time factored.

Grazie tanto: Adriana and Micaela for a great life memory!

“Just a brilliant place to stay!”

Villa Gisella B was the last rental on our trip and we couldn't have been happier. The apartment was spotlessly clean and beautifully appointed, the view from our private balcony was magnificent and our hostess Adriana was very warm and welcoming. In fact when she showed us through the apartment and she opened the fridge it contained some of her own home grown fruit and vegetables as well as a jar of homemade apricot jam!! What a bonus!
The apartment was within walking distance to the small shops and bus stops, although very tight against the road verge, but that is not the owner's doing! Our luggage was amazingly transported up to our apartment ( there are 92 steps) so no carrying heavy bags!
We booked through Summer In Italy and they couldn't do enough to help us even giving us the names of some taxi services, one of which we used on our departure.
We can't say enough about our stay in Praiano. We didn't know what to expect, as it is a small village but we loved what we found. Thankyou Adriana and family.

I cannot recommend this apartment enough. So clean, well presented ,the owners were very helpful. View amazing, amenities very good in the heart of the village. Very steep steps - 100 - to the apartment - we were fine with that. Cannot say enough about this apartment , we will be definately returning , we loved it.

“Perfect place to stay!”

We spent four nights at Gisella B and had a wonderful time. The apartment is perfect for two persons, it has a full equiped kitchen (with dish washer and washing machine) a living room and a bed room. All with doors out to the fantastic terrace or lemon patio. As seen on the pictures the toilet is rather small but it is defenitely no problem (compared to a normal London hotel it is huge). Everything in the apartment was super clean and well maintained. The terrace and the view from it is absolutely breathtaking with the ocean and the coastline and Capri at the horizon. It is in shadow during the early morning hours but then have sun the rest of the day. Two evenings we just stayed "home" to eat dinner at the terrace watching the sun set in the Mediterranean while drinking a good glass of red wine. Can life be better? The owners are super nice. When we arrived they provided us with a bag full of vegetables etc from their gardens. One morning they lowered down a basket on a rope with a fresh home baked cake. It is around 100 steps from the road up to the apartment. The benefit of this is that you don't even see the road from the terrace. The apartment also lies in the "outskirts" of Praiano but since it's a small village the center is only a two minutes walk away. If you are interested in walking the Sentiero Degli Dei there is an entrance route starting at the apartment. We felt wery lucky to find this calm and beautiful place at the Amalfi coast and really recommends it!
