This is situated beyond the walls of the old Prato city. There are a mixed of groceries (advise to check the expiry dates), small businesses (clothings, shoes etc) and small eateries along the main street. There are 2 large supermarkets off the main streets.
As we were walking through the streets, we could hear people spitting and were really abhorred by this practice. The Chinese here originate from China and brings with them the ‘cooking styles’ from China. My friend was looking forward to some Asian food of Singaporean and Malaysian origin but was surprised to see that there was none of these. Most of the smaller shops sell ready cooked food ( at 3 euro for a mix of 3 kind of dishes and a bowl of rice) or provide a selection of raw materials that a customer can choose for the cook to prepare. There are some that sell steam boat – essentially a selection of raw meat, fish, vegetables that one cook in a pot of hot soup. We went into one of the larger restaurant but quickly came out as it was filled with a very strong cigarette stench.
