Lets start with the positives.....The grounds were well maintained and beautiful, you could always hear the birds happily chirping in the trees. The pool was very clean, but cold and as I've now found out salt water - please pack googles for your children as it can really sting your eyes. I know it was early season for us, but due to the temperature, you cannot stay in the pool for long, my six year old daughter's lips went blue! Now on to the accommodation, well first impressions of our ground floor apartment were not good, upon entering, we were welcomed to a very dark, dingy and damp smelling apartment. Yes I understand apartments can be basic, but these need a complete makeover and it wasn't just the aesthetics that was unpleasant. The kitchen area was a joke, a two gas burner stove, (actually advertised as four) a fridge and sink, yes that was it, now I'm no Gordon Ramsey, but if I book self catering I do like the option to whip up a spa bol! All of the cutlery was dirty and needed a good clean. Now our party consisted of two adults and two children, and the apartment was advertised as suitable for this, the frankly disgusting sofa was our sleeping area - no way! I asked immediately if we could upgrade to a two bedroomed and was swiftly informed they were fully booked. My husband asked if we could be moved to a first floor apartment and was sarcastically told that we had requested a ground floor, which indeed was true, but we didn't request an apartment that smelt damp and felt like a dungeon! So in short do not request ground floor unless you want to stay in cold, dark and damp accommodation.

Room Tip: Ask for first floor and not ground

We have just returned from a memorable holiday in a truly beautiful area. The first floor apartment had large rooms which were simply but attactively furnished and the bathroom was well fitted and maintained. We had a pleasant balcony, sunny in the morning, over looking the gardens which are huge and full off giant palm trees and lovely flowers. The kitchenette was basic but adequate - never a kettle in Italy I understand! The very large swimming pool was wonderful and never crowded in June. There were beaches nearby but as we had a car included we preferred to go to Chia, about 7 miles away which had almost the best beach I have seen anywhere in the world - white sand backed by dunes. Nearby Pula is a quaint little town with several pizzerias and restaurents round a square, the only drawback being the need to drive there as it a couple of miles down a busy main road with no pavement. Having heard other holidaymakers tales of woe at the airport about other resorts, we couldn't believe how lucky we had been to have such a great value holiday at a very reasonable price.

great place, lovely pool set in great gardens. Plenty of space for everyone. Child friendly (divisioned off section of pool, wendy house etc. for play by the snack bar. Friendly staff. Highly recommend hiring a car for shopping trips, and evening meals out - try Bacchixxdhu just across road in direction of Chia, or even for an icecream in Pula market square! Self catering so remember your travel kettle and supply of basics - loo paper, breakfast cereal - or stop at the huge Auchan on main road just after leaving Cagliari airport. Baia delle palme is situated on SS195 just before the 33 km marker (our directions from rep. who met us at the airport left a lot to the imagination!!). Local (walking distance) beach not good - rocky and seaweed but Flamingo beach very short car ride away - or stay by the pool as there were always plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas available here. Salt water pool which is kept very clean and great temperature - we swam from 7am to 8pm quite happily. We will definately return, very peaceful restful holiday.

These apartments were set in lovely grounds and the location was not bad. The beach near to the apartments was very rocky and lots of seaweed. But the drive to lovely beaches was about 15 mins. Tthe apartment lacked things like a picture on the wall not enough cooking facilties (no kettle) you had to pay for air con. did not change towels or linen at all.Time of our stay was for 1 week. Shame simple things to change. But would not go back. Sardinia was great though!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Baia delle Palme is in great location in Pula's zone and the view is out of this world. I found a very nice atmosphere and wonderful service, as expected. I went for a romantic trip but would take our daughter next time. The apartments were really beautiful, their décor were exquisitely tasteful; the entire atmosphere of the place was very special, the ambiance of Baia delle Palme was warm and convivial. I got warm smiles from everyone and a polite, friendly welcome. I suppose it was first noticeable when the front desk attendant who checked us in to to residence walked us to the apartment after we were checked in. She was sophisticated and beautiful beyond measure and suppremely poised.

I am very likely to return to the Baia delle Palme.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

We were looking forward to our trip to Sardinia with our 6 month old baby, but ended up catching colds due to the damp and cold of our accomodation. We had requested a first floor apartment but instead were
given a very shaded ground floor room. It was cold and damp inside. The walls were splattered with mosquito marks. We asked many times if we could move and were constantly told that the resort was full. We were there for 1 week in June and I can honestly say that the resort was not full. One had the feeling that the management were simply not interested.
Eventually I had to ask the manager for the contact details of the local paediatrician as my baby caught a very bad cough. Even then, we were not moved. Other problems were that we had only warm water in the day and cold at night. The manager told us that we should shower in the afternoon if we expected hot water! We also had to keep the air conditioning running in dehumidify mode, but it wasn't very effective (and we had to pay extra to switch it on). Only having talked to the tour operator in London did they finally agree to move us and that was on day 5 of 7! So they obviously did have vacant apartments. At no point during our stay did the rep from the tour operator, Sardatur, contact us. On returning to London we wrote to the tour operator and they just made excuses for the resort and didn't even bother to send the rep to validate our claims.

An awful experience - we will never go back to this resort again.

The apartment development is well laid out, beautiful grounds, characterful and private location, small scale. Lovely pool. Drawback is that the distance from town is far too far to have the option of walking so a car is absolutely critical for your stay. Kitchens below basically equipped so when you eat in it is hard to prepare above picnic standard meals. Terrible mosquito problems- bring protection! Beach nearby is not great but amazing beaches in 15 minute drive.
