“Nice Hotel with nice golf facilities”
Reviewed 14 May 2014

I visited this Hotel in May ; I found it very comfortable and the personnel was very friendly; the hotel has many facilities with turkish baths and other facilities; my room was simple but comfortable; the golf course in located very closely and is very nice with panoramic club house with bar and restaurant.
The breakfast is very rich and diversified with local specialties; the dinner was ok with a very large choice of fresh ingredients.Personnel attentive and gentle.
The beach is very nice with parking and many facilities in a beautiful landscape .
IT is important at the time of reservation ask for the services provided and relative costs.

Room Tip: ask when making the reservation

Good points: beach and relevant services (even if restaurant service is slow), common areas.
Average: restaurant (nothing special, but acceptable with wide choice).
Bad points: poor wi-fi, old room, and moisture.
I deem this last issue not only relevant to our room because we did realize afterward that same problem affected also other hotel guests... Anyway it is really not acceptable to feel uncomfortable to take shower in room because of humidity... and therefore to arrange it at the beach where hot shower is available, and last but not least all family left the hotel with sorethroat, catarrh... etc.etc. And our room was located at the 2nd floor (of 3).
Room could be good 15/20 years ago... doors and wardrobe are hardly closing properly and clearly shows their ages, actually some arr'nt are more in line with a two stars hotel than a four. Overall average accommodation (but expensive for what you get) for family not much demanding looking for beach hotel in this area... Than maybe POOR!?!?

My fiancé and I went to Golf Hotel for the first time and had a relaxing and pleasant stay. The only drawback is that we only were able to stay for one night. The biggest plus is the elegance of the hotel and the beach which belongs to them. They have a convenient shuttle service and the shuttle drivers are very friendly. The people working in the bar by the beach are also very nice... this place is all about being nice to customers which only adds to the ambiance.

Very expensive, horrible noisy rooms. Beach run like a prison you are given a meter based on the room. Don't go but if you have to don't take pool facing rooms if you want any sleep. Reception took ages with a non customer oriented process. The only possible light was the restaurant service which was service although food was not great!

One of our most awful hotel experiences over the last 15 years of travelling. Every experience is of course related to expectations but we seriously do not understand how this hotel can get any positive reviews no matter what expectations you might have. The hotel building looks like something from behind the iron curtain, it must have serious infrastructural problems, no air conditioning - no it was not NOT working - it was not there! Haveing stayed in Punta Ala in 2012 during one of the hottest weeks it is still a mystery how the temperature inside the hotel can be higher than outside - given that they claim to have AC. The recepition (i.e. behind the desk) was equipped with extra machines providing the staff with somewhat better air... Our entire stay (pre-paid with kids) was focused omn how to stay away from the hotel as long as possible every day.

Service was OK - but far from OK - to start out with something positive we were frequently met with a warm and open attitude from housekeeping and the wonderful young people trying to run the "mini-club". For the rest it was just as if the management of the hotel had surrendered to a hopeless infrastructure and had not been able to encourage staff meeting customers with a smile and service minded attitude. Even though opening hours were clear to all, it was explained to us that the kitchen staff probably had closed... LAME is the word! Anyone confronting customers with a negative response to a request must be able to bear the responsibility himself - if you want to blame someone else - send them out to meet the customer!

Breakfast was horrible - good food but terrible management. People and kids running around the poolarea and the food and eating directly out of the plates... Being a vacation hotel in this area - the hotel does not offer dinner arrangements outside! Wanna feel like a fish - go there! Big windows in the sun - hot - you remember? - no AC!

Bathrooms does not necessarily require specifics - but in this case... Without any cooling air in the room you tend to long for long cold shower to at least cool of a little after walking from the reception to your room! Warining - the water temeperature in the shower booths from the 90's varies! You have to be ready for sudden bursts of boiling hot water through the pipes! Scary and not at all OK!

Finally sitting down at home writing this after a long shower and a relaxing dinner! We did decide to accept the fact that we lost money buy paying this hotel in advance and just move out of there and find something else! We payed 1.910 Euros for two adults and two kids in an appartment room with two extra beds in the kitchen - overlooking the concrete wall on the back of the hotel! (No pictures of that room on the internet). So we took out our laptop from the fruit company in California US and decided to use the hotels offering of internet to find a new hotel... However, their internet service could not support any Apple products, phones, computers, iPads, nothing - so, maybe Apple has not conquered this part of the world? We than asked for the business center in the hotel - guess what - they could not offer that service!

We did not try the SPA... it might be good!?

"Welcome to the Hotel California..."

Happy to be back in Sweden!

If you are invited for a golfing holiday with a group to this hotel and area then do not come!
The golf course locally is 5 km from the hotel and is not maintained to a standard you would expect. The is no transportation at the hotel and if you order a taxi it takes 45 minutes to arrive from the local town and costs 200 euro return trip. All in all there are far better places with far more amenities to visit rather than this place. Do yourself a favour a stay away!!
