Didn't stay this time, but having stayed when it was the Sasso and eaten there over several years we wanted to go back for dinner as it was our 45th wedding anniversary.
It had changed a little since our last visit, with an enlarged terrace and a delightful outside bar and a casual eating area on one part of the terrace as well as outside seating next to the more formal dining room. Views from the terrace are wonderful, especially as the sun sets and the lights of the coastal towns come on.
We had a couple of cocktails in the seating area by the outside bar, before moving to the more formal terrace area for dinner. Here we were presented with a reasonably varied menu and we selected fish (cod for me, San Pietro for my wife). We had the chefs "amuse bouche", starters followed by sorbet, the fish mains and a delightful sweet presented with candles as a little acknowledgement of our anniversary. This was accompanied by an excellent white wine, selected for us by the somalier.
All the time we were there we had a guitar and balalaika duo playing - they played one tune especially for us (nice touch and worth the tip!)
The entire meal and service was exceptional.
Expect to pay Euro 50 - 100 for a good bottle of wine, and 250 - 300 including wine for the dinner. This is a 1/2 star Michelin restaurant!
