This restaurant was recommended by our hotel as we were going to an event at Villa Rufolo. We were not disappointed, the food was imaginative and very tasty. The staff were also friendly and attentive. The management has attention to detail too as all the staff were wearing soft soled shoes so there was no clicking on the terracotta flooring as they approached our table. They were instantly available but only when needed which is always a sign of quality trained staff.
I was tempted to give this restaurant 5 stars but on asking my wife how many it deserved, she replied "5 stars, there was nothing wrong with it". And herein lies the only reason for downgrading it to 4 stars (not simply to disagree with my wife!!!): Whilst there was nothing wrong with it, there was something in the ambiance that wasn't quite there. I can't think of anything in particular but you know it when a restaurant deserves the full 5 stars. Nevertheless, still highly recommended. We would return but next time we will try their "pizza" restaurant on the floor below which we have read glowing reports about.
