“Views worth staying for!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 June 2011

The accommodation was clean, comfortable and quiet - everything you could want. The views from the terrace over Ravello were stunning. The owners were incredibly helpful and accommodating, so much that they picked me up from Amalfi for the drive up to Ravello. I had the best sleep after travelling for so long!

The downside is I found the accommodation a bit far from the centre of Ravello and the purpose of my visit was a wedding. In the summer, it can get very hot and I didn't appreciate being sweaty by the time I met my friends each day walking into town from the B&B.

If you were on holiday for any other visit though, this is perfect accommodation if you're on a budget.

Wonderful place , especially for the price. I think it is an undiscovered gem. As a professional artist, I could nothave imagined a better view, or setting. The lemon tree arbor in the courtyard in front of the rooms is too beautifulto be real,, with the view of the sea, Ravello and Minori far below. Beware you must park on the raod below, ( free) but then you have to cli8mb many stairs to get to the room. The owner is very good about meeting you and helping carry your luggage. The rooms are clean and modern , the internet works well. The breakfast is not much but who cares? Bring earplugs in case someone is in the room beside you. The walls are thin. You can walk to all the shops on the mian poaizza on the beautiful paths through the village above, or the road below.

The climb up was soon forgotten as the rooms were really clean, comfortable and quite lovely - especially the vine covered balcony where one can enjoy the trully spectacular views of the coastline.
The breakfast of cereal with yoghurt and fresh milk plus croissant etc was quite sufficient, as well as plenty of tea and coffee.

The host Giuseppe could not have been more helpfull and I would recommend this accommodation without hesitation.

As someone who frequents B&Bs--especially in Europe, I feel this one of the best B&B experiences I have had. We stayed there from May 11-16th. In fact we originally booked just 4 nights, but after our 2nd day, fell in love with Ravello & this B&B so much that we asked if we could stay an extra night, which luckily we could. Ravello Rooms provided us with the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty and majesty of Ravello and the Amalfi Coast.

If you're looking to visit different cities along the Amalfi Coast, I would recommend doing what we did--using Ravello Rooms as a home base and taking several days trips. After day trips to Capri, Positano and Amalfi, we always were happy to get back "home" to Ravello, which we found to be the most beautiful and relaxing of all the towns. We also found Ravello and Ravello Rooms to have the best value in terms of the quality of what get for your dollar/euro.

While I could rave on and on about how much we loved this gorgeous, magical town of Ravello & this B& B and how wonderful and accomodating Giuseppe the owner is, I have decided to include tidbits that will hopefully convince you to stay in this amazing little B&B during your stay in Ravello.

Location: Do NOT be put off by reviews that this is just outside the main part of town. I think it's less than a mile and perhaps only a 10 minute stroll into the main town square if you go by the main road (less if you go through the back way the locals take). Anyway, you will want to make this walk--so gorgeous-- you look down the mountain into the Mediterrean Sea. One of the most beautiful, scenic walks we have ever taken. You will be so caught up in the beauty of this town you won't even notice amount of time you spend walking. Besides, Ravello really is a town best enjoyed by those willing to walk and climb steps. We actually liked not being in the center of all the tourist-y spots.

The room: Looked to be very recently renovated, new furniture and electronics, incredibly clean, comfortable bed, plenty of storage space for clothes/ luggage. The bathroom is what an American might deem to be small, but really is a typical in Italy. Soft and plentiful towels (not the norm in Italy). Special touches include flat screen TV with cable, air conditioning unit, stereo with CD player, a mini fridge, a small dining table and chairs and your own espresso machine (and Giuseppe keeps you fully stocked with espresso pods-reg & decaf). I have upload pics but please realize these were taken as we were checking out so that's why bed is unmade.

The breakfast: We found the selection to be generous & satisfying. Typical Italian, so don't expect eggs & bacon. We liked that breakfast was in our room so we didn't have to dress or eat at a specified time. A large basket contained 2 types of croissants/pastries, little toast crackers, nutella, several types of jam, honey, boxes of cereal, coffee, tea & in the mini fridge, fresh milk, juice and yogurt. More than you can eat.

The balcony area: Perhaps our favorite aspect of this charming B&B! There are 5 tables- 3 under the shade of a lemon grove canopy and two in the open air. All have the most amazing view looking out over the Mediterranean and down the mountain into Minori. We took our breakfast out there every morning and spent several afternoons having happy hour on the balcony--drinking wine, playing cards and listening to music. And we were the only ones taking advantage of this incredible perk, so it was like have a private balcony in a romantic and peaceful paradise!

The owner Giuseppe: Speaks perfect English & is incredibly forgiving of yur bad Italian. He has great suggestions of different things to do and see in Ravello and is incredibly friendly and hospitable--the perfect B&B owner. Also, he was so kind to help us with luggage.

Couple other things to consider: if you have trouble walking or don't like to walk, then Ravello probably won't be a town you will enjoy, due to all the steps (but that's what you get being a town built into a mountain). There are approx 70 steps from street to front door of Ravello Rooms--but there are several landings upon which you can rest on your way up. After a couple days, you really get used to it.

Also, initially the B&B can be hard to find, just ask around in town. We were lucky enough to go into the gelato bar to ask and met Giuseppe's brother, who called Giuseppe and had him wait outside for us.

Finally parking--although there was no designated lot, we never had any problems finding a spot close to Ravello Rooms. Just beware that you will be parallel parking right against the side of the stone mountain. Parking & driving in Ravello (& the Amalfi Coast) are not for the inexperienced or faint of heart.

One more recommendation: we absolutely loved the food at La Vecchia Cantina off the main square by the church. The quattro formaggi pizza and calamari were the best we ever had. Also the spaghetto la vecchia catina is to die for. Be sure to ask for Vincenzo!

I hope this review has done justice to convey how much we loved our stay at Ravello Rooms. We would go back in a heartbeat! Grazie mille, Giuseppe for making this our most memorable vacation.

A clean, simple, and comfortable little B&B with a huge view! Our favorite parts of the stay was sitting under the lemon tree on the balcony and looking down at the amazing view of the amalfi coast, and fresh coffee from the in-room espresso maker.
Giuseppe and Maddalena were very helpful with information for getting around the coast and gave us rides so we didn't have to walk the 10 minute distance between the B&B and the bus station in Ravello with our luggage.
I highly recommend this place. It's a great value for the cost, and ran by some very nice people.

Clean, Comfortable Room with communal patio that had lemon trees and a gorgeous view of the Amalfi Coast. The owner, Giuseppe was very kind and picked us up from the bus stop and helped us bring it up the 3 flights of stairs. Once in Ravello Rooms, were were very happy with the cleanliness of the room. There was a generous breakfast of packaged croissants, cereal and a variety of jams. We loved the convenience of the coffee maker and milk steamer. I would definitely recommend Ravello Rooms. The only thing is I wish there was a telephone in the room, but Giuseppe was quick to help us make phone calls.
