First of all - the view is absolutely stunning! If you can find this place in a little alley at the top of Ravello, you will NOT be disappointed. We don't usually order dessert, but in this case we wanted to extend our stay at the table as long as possible. The food was spectacular. The linguine may not have been home made, but the funghi sauce together with the pasta was delicious - one of the best we've had in Italy. We had another 2 pastas with mussels/clams and would highly recommend both. Our favorite, however, was the pumpkin ravioli dish. Pumpkin filling with sage, butter sauce can be quite sweet in some places, but Villa Maria got it just right without being overly sugared down. The white house wine was also very tasty. My family would highly recommend this to anyone.

They have a very lovely patio with a terrace overlooking the mountains and sea looking down towards Atrani/Amalfi. Though not as dramatic as the other side of Ravello, it quite scenic and lovely. With a nice warm evening, we very much enjoyed that setting which truly made the evening. However, the food was also very good, with the highlight being the excellent greens and veggies from their own garden. The salad and vegetables we ordered were a lll very fresh and had an excellent taste. The fish we selected was light, tasty and well prepared. They had a very nice wine selection. The service was quite good, with as much help as we needed in making our food and wine selections. All in all a very good choice that I would recommend to others.

We ate here again for lunch on this trip. Prices are reasonable and the views are incredible. Try the onion and bacon pizza. They really load the toppings on, more like they do in the US, so this pizza easily feeds both my wife and me.

On our way back from visiting Villa Cimbroni, we came across the organic gardens for Villa Maria so once we got there decided to have dinner on the patio as the sun was setting. The patio is graced by large linden trees and jazz was being played making for a very relaxing setting.

Hubby and I both ordered the garden soup to start with. It was excellent, but served in a tureen and one is more than enough for two people. Hubby opted for the crepes and I ordered rack of lamb (rare) and a side of broccoli. Both were excellent! There were two different crepes: ham and cheese and spinach and cheese. The lamb was of excellent quality and perfectly prepared. Unlike most of the other Italian restaurants we've been to over our week plus in Italy, Villa Maria actually serves quality wines by the glass! That's a huge plus in my book! We took about half of our dinner back to our apartment as we just could not eat it all and it was far too good to leave. Highly recommend this restaurant. Oh, and the views are to die for!!

Great for lunch after visiting the villa cimbrano. TIP: to avoid paying an overpriced meal seat on the snack area and share salads and pizza. Same view and service as the restaurant area but with a more basic menu.
