B&B i Limoni is an absolute gem tucked down a remotely quiet spot in Ravello. I must first be honest in saying that the steps down there (as other people have mentioned) are veeery steep and veery tiring (especially in the scorching heat). The B&B is only accesible via these steps so even if you have a hire car (which we didnt), you still have some walking to get there! My husband and I are quite a fit and healthy young couple, but we struggled with the steps, particularly when getting our suitcases up/down the steps. Since The place is outside of central Ravelo, I would definately suggest you get a hire car if staying here, otherwise the walk up to there is absolutely shattering! We did it every night for the 5 nights we were there, and the walking was starting to wear thin a bit!
I must say, the steps were this places only downfall (and they make the reasonable price more understandable). The hosts Rosalba and Luigi were amazing, so hospitable and welcoming. They really made sure that you had a good time, and nothing was too much trouble for them. Luigi gave us a bottle of homemade wine to have with dinner one night, and they both packed us off with a bag full of lovely fresh lemons and herbs when we were leaving Ravello (depsite the fact that we spent the last 6 nights of our holiday in another hotel - the B&B wasnt available for the full duration of our stay - they insisted that we come back on our last day to pick up the lemons from their garden). They gave us a tour of their gardens, and they are truely lovely, they are so self sufficiant, growing so many fruits and vegetables, and making their own fruit juices, jams, lemonade etc from the produce. Rosalba speaks little English, although Lugit does, and they both know enough to get by, I would bring a phrase book if you dont know any Italian. It truely is so relaxing, and you wouldnt believe how lovely and quiet it is there, it really does feel like you are on the corner of the earth, away from the herds of tourists that visit Ravello, cars etc. The views are as amazing as anywhere in Ravello, but you can enjoy it so much more due to the tranquility of the place, and the setting of the terrace in amongst the lemon groves and natural produce. This genuinely is a place to get away from the world and just relax.
The rooms were lovely too. The first night we stayed in the standard room, that is just the bedrom and bathroom. Both were decorated really nicely - really clean and modern and yet still with some Italian charm from the furniture. Our remaining 4 nights were spent in the suite (it was not available for the full 5 nights, so Rosalba agreed we could move into the suite on the second day). The suite was also really nice, it was like your own little appartment, with a private terrace. There is a good sized bedroom (again decorated really nicely), a living area with sofa, tv and dining table, then 2 single beds (the apprtment sleeps 3-4) tucked around the corner. Then there is the good sized bathroom and a little kitchen with the essentials - hob, pots, pans, plates etc, so you can cook your own meals and eat inside, or on the terrace with the lovely view. If possible, i would recommend that you stay in the suite, as the extra space allows you to relax a bit more, and you have the option of self catering as and when you wish.
Waking up to the view and spending the day on the terrace in the calm setting really made this an enjoyable stay. The B&B itself, and the surrounds were amazing, and I would definately recommend this place (as long as you are mindful of the stairs!) if to spend the time with Lugi and Rosalba and nothing else!!
