“Couldn't be better!”
Reviewed 21 June 2014 via mobile

Spent a week here with extended family, ranging in ages from young children to grandparents. What a wonderful place, and a wonderful family that runs it (especially Margherita). The facilities are beautiful, and we had some delicious meals prepared by Margherita, Roberta (who was so great with our kids), and her father Alfonso). We can't wait to come back!

What a wonderful place. Great views, great service, great accommodations, great food, great, great, great!!! The only thing better than Villa San Cosma is the people who run it! Margarita (runs the place) you are a darling, you are so helpful and you always have a smile. I will return!!

We stayed at Villa San Cosma with a group of five couples.

Lets start by saying this villa is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are perfect and the views un- believable. The rooms are very well kept with comfortable beds, air conditioning and beautiful tile throughout. They come through each day and change your towels.

The villa is located just a short walk from Ravello. The walk up to town is all up stairs... but the walk down is easy at the end of the night. A day time shuttle runs several times a day for only 1 Euro each way. Night taxis are more expensive.

The whole experience was made even better by the owner Margherita! She takes care of every detail and any question you may have. She knows everyone in Ravello and can make the connections to get into the local restaurants where she and her family eats. We did not feel like tourists... but instead family. She helped coordinate and help resolve issues we had with excursions not even booked by her!

One night we ran out of wine and 20 minutes later she showed up to get us a case of their own house wine. (Yes... the wine was very good)

They leave the kitchen / dinning area open and there are always some snacks. They have a self service bar which you pay for at the end of the week. All very reasonable priced.

There is a nice cabana on the property that we enjoyed wine and cigars at the end of the night.

Her family made us dinner two nights... which was a mix of traditional Ravello dishes and what was fresh from the garden that day.

The property is located on a cliff side.. so the view is stunning. This also means that there are plenty of stairs to go up and down. After the second day our legs got used to the stairs.

They have WiFi throughout the property. Good wifi connections by the outside dinning area and cabana.

This is one villa that is perfect for a larger family or group of couples!

Room Tip: The lower two rooms on the property are separate apartments. They are more private... the three uppe...

My husband and I just returned from an extended vacation in Italy that included 14 days at Villa San Cosma. I spent a good deal of time planning our trip, and I must say, the villa exceeded my (quite high) expectations. The villa is set amongst lush and extensive gardens which include lemon, orange and olive groves. Guests are encouraged to pick from the bountiful gardens and groves. The grounds also include a wine cellar, grotto, and whirlpool. The vistas to the sea below are simply breathtaking.
We stayed in the "Limoni" apartment, but all share the same amazing sea views. The well supplied kitchen was perfect for making small meals and snacks. The rooms are decorated with exquisite tiles supplied by the family ceramic shop. I have high expectations for cleanliness when it come to hotels, and I honestly think this was the cleanest I have ever encountered ... it was as if we were the first guests to ever stay in the room.
Daily breakfast was included, which comprised of various fruits, yogurts, meats, cheeses, and pastries, and often a homemade cake or tart. Margherita, the hostess, will make you a fantastic cappuccino (or two) to start your day.
Margherita provides concierge services that you might expect from a high end hotel, such as arranging high quality tours, transfers, cooking classes, kayaking etc. And more importantly, helps with the little things (like buying train tickets online) as if you are staying with an Italian friend.
You can walk to Ravello from the villa using one of several uphill paths that include stairs. Although this was not a problem for us, it could be for those with mobility issues. We also enjoyed taking the footpaths to Atrani, Amalfi, and Minori (but chose to take the bus back up after too many gelatos).
We found Villa San Cosma to be the perfect blend of beautiful sea vistas, hospitality, and comfort. We can't wait to return.

Room Tip: Limoni was perfect for us. Arancio had 2 bedrooms and a balcony. I don't think you can go wron...

My wife and I spent a glorious week at Villa San Cosma. What a delight. We chose the Arancia suite with a wonderful large terrace overlooking the ocean. The view is beyond gorgeous. We enjoyed the many different lighting conditions that constantly amazed us with new perspective on the dramatic vistas.

The location is perfect. It's very quiet but there is quick access to Ravello up a stone walkway of 190 steps. There are also trails to Minori and Amalfi that intersect just outside the Villa's gate.

The beautifully landscaped gardens feature lemon and orange trees that we took full advantage of. We made fresh lemonade every day and snacked oh n the oranges. After Villa San Cosma fruit supermarket stuff seems very pale.

One of the very best things about his place is the young woman who runs it, Margherita. She is the daughter of the couple who own the Villa and also run the best ceramics shop in Ravello. Margherita speaks perfect English and did everything possible to make our trip perfect, from her excellent breakfasts to her suggestions about things to do to her wonderful plantations of how he locals live.

My wife and I are seasons travellers who have been to many fine places in Italy and elsewhere. Villa San Cosma is one of our favourite discoveries. Stay there and you cannot go wrong.

I recently stayed at Villa San Cosma for 2 nights, and I am so glad that I did! It was so much more than I had expected. Everything from the grounds to the view to the Vietri tiles in the room were gorgeous. And Margherita, the manager, couldn't have been more helpful and friendly!

The lemon and olive trees create the most romantic and beautiful ambiance. I honestly cannot wait to return!! While I didn't cook in my "apartment," it is feasible to cook a nice meal with the small kitchen and utensils in each unit.

The walk from the villa, which is perched on a cliff high above the sea, takes about 10 minutes and is uphill; however, the stairs are "long" stairs and are not steep. Anyone who is in moderately good physical condition can easily do this walk. Another option is to walk the road to town.

Villa San Cosma is such a nice option for those who want a beautiful room with a view, breakfast included, in a unique and gorgeous spot just outside of the center of activity. I will definitely return! Thank you, Margherita!

Room Tip: I stayed in Uva, which was perfect!

In Sept/Oct 2013 we travelled with friends to Italy. We stayed for four weeks in a mix of bed and breakfast and self-contained accommodation. While we couldn't fault the self-contained accommodation we stayed in the B&B’s were fantastic. It is great way to meet some of the locals and all those we stayed with were very friendly and helpful.

While on the Amalfi Coast we chose to stay for six nights at Villa San Cosma my favourite B&B located just below Ravello. It was like being in heaven. Margherita and her sister were the perfect hosts. The villa itself is new and beautifully decorated. The gardens it sits in are amazing with olive, lemon, plum and fig trees and a vegetable garden from which you can help yourself. There is also a plunge pool and grotto. Breakfast is served on a terrace with 180 degree views over the coastline.

While staying there we walked up to Ravello for supplies, a meal or concert and down to Minori to Pasticceria De Riso for lemon granita’s, coffee or cake. From the villa we also visited Amalfi, Vietri sul Mare, Salerno, Carpri and Pompeii. We also spent a day on an old fishing boat exploring the coast line from Cetara to the Le Galli Islands. We hope to return in the not too distant future.
