“Something different!”
Reviewed 30 July 2013

we were curious about this place as it looked out of character in the environment. We knew nothing about Oscar Niemeyer and didn't realise it was an exhibition of photographs of his work. We also didn't realise that there was a charge to see the exhibition and auditorium until we left and a member of staff asked for a payment. There was no information or staff available when we entered. Wouldn't visit again.

“Unique but ...”
Reviewed 12 July 2013

I only gave 4-5 stars for the reason of its distinct presence.

While I am amazed at its location, the views it provides visitors and attendees of performances, the unique architecture, and an attempt to be seamless within and against the backdrop of the hillside and smallish communities surrounding, it is not so seamless -- and less so from the sea.

I felt that the structure speaks more loudly than it should for its environment and even more so to look upon the hillside from the sea -- it is too clearly visible and a bit out of place -- too modern to inhabit a place where people have for centuries carved the hillside for housing and gardens while preserving the natural beauty.

However, it does provide a good host for the arts.

“Opera omnia”
Reviewed 24 February 2013 via mobile

Highly criticised but I find this innovative example of architecture an interesting addition to the stunning Amalfi coast where there are far worse eyesores condoned by local political interests.
High quality agenda of events. Book in advance!

“Very Unique”
Reviewed 22 January 2013

As a board member of the West Hartford Community Theater, and seeing our cast perform "Broadway in Ravello" we had a fantastic experience. The acoustics are beautiful, as is the stage and the views from the auditorium seats of the coast and the Mediterranean Sea. The history of this building is well worth the read.
