“One of the most beautiful hotels in the world...”

Just going to breakfast in this hotel will make you a believer. The setting is stunning, views looking out to a vast expanse of ocean and coastline, past the private gardens, served with immense kindness and sensitivity by Enzo and Tanya, on the hotel's own china and silver, fresh squeezed orange juice that conjures the fragrance of orange blossoms, homemade yogurt with special sauces of raspberries, homemade berry jam. I have a gluten allergy, and the chef made me baskets of the most exquisite pastries with chocolate, almond marzipan, chopped tomatoes. The service is impeccable, every single person, the food is stunning, beautiful and marvelous to the palate. The management at the front office, from Lidia, to Lucia, Antonina, among others, incredibly kind and helpful, sharp and sophisticated, in appearance lovely, knowledgeable, simply great. You make a vigorous walk to the Hotel Villa Cimbrone, and it is like a fairy tale when you arrive. The gardens are vast, really, with gorgeous arbors, statuary, views. To dine in the evening is to taste a bit of heaven, in fact, the whole experience is one that transports you to a heavenly world at every turn, exquisite sitting rooms throughout, beautiful swimming pool, great gym, gorgeous dining room, comfortable, beautiful hotel room, this is an incomparable experience. I am a new travel agent, and I will not hesitate to book anyone into this hotel. It is a marvel.

We spent the week of April 12th at Villa Cimbrone and found it truly extraordinary. The location is indeed fantastic, the staff is pleasant and happy to be of service. Oustanding cuisine.
Since a major portion of Villa grounds are open to non hotel guests, I can imagine that in high season, the traffic could be of concern, but in April, it was definitely not an issue. There are other 5 star hotels in Ravello but none with Cimbrone`s atmosphere and unique location, views and grounds.

Room Tip: it is essential to have an ocean view room.

Ravello and Villa Cimbrone are must-see destinations. The views are stunning throughout the town with the best view of the Amalfi coast from Villa Cimbrone. The staff at Villa Cimbrone could not have been friendlier or more helpful. The hotel itself is quite impressive and well decorated. The hotel website will provide you with a very accurate depiction of the hotel and grounds. The food served at its restaurant is world class, and it too is served with a fabulous view of the coast. Our room was quite comfortable, but most impressive was its balcony with stunning views of the coast, the pool and gardens, the town, and an intriguing medival courtyard. Villa Cimbrone is located on the edge of town, about a 10 minute walk from the main square. The walk is most mostly uphill but virtually each step on the narrow stone pathways is filled with unbelievable picturesque views. Definitely recommended!

Outrageously expensive for what it is. There are 11 better hotels in Ravello according to Tripadvisor, I would say it comes closer to 21...

So its just amazing .. the location is incredible, the gardens are stunning, its not too big, the food is Michelin star standard [and such good value] the service is impeccable, the strawberry bellinis are amazing .. so whats the catch ... every night we were there there was a wedding in the hotel.. underneath our rooms .. although they ended quite early it became annoying after the 3rd night listening to their discos taking place at full blast when you would like a little quiet romance of our own!.... The hotel probably only has about 10-12 rooms .. and while we stayed an Australian family including two toddlers basically took over everything.. more a complaint about them than the hotel ... they kids cried [as kids do], and their grandmother was ordered her kids the staff around loudly and basically treated the pool area and the hotel as if it was her's .. the hotel didn't intervene [we complained and got yet another lovely strawberry bellini!] but it was really unfair to staff .. I'm all for families on holidays .. but really all guests should have an equally good time regardless of the party size ...

We spent our last night of an Italy vacation at Villa Cimbrone. After 3 days in Rome and two on Capri, Ravello was a welcome quiet spot. Arrival at the hotel involves a walk from the town square, but luggage is picked up by a golf cart, so the walk wasn't unpleasant and some of the views were spectacular.

The property itself is exactly what we expected. It is NOT a shiny, modern hotel. It is an old building with a ton of character, but those expecting the same level of amenities as a Ritz or Waldorf Astoria may be disappointed. But if you're looking for something different and luxurious in it's simplicity this is a great place. The gardens are beautiful and the view from the Infinity Terrace is nothing less than breathtaking.

Our room was comfortable, though a bathtub wold have been nice instead of just a shower. The view from the room was incredible though and the bed was very comfortable. Everyone we met, from checkin, to the bars, to the pool to the restaurant were very friendly and helpful. The pool is a highlight of the property and dinner at the restaurant was one of the best meals I've ever experienced.

The only real 'bad' experience was the huge centipede in the shower, but a rolled up magazine soon convinced it to be less alive, so all was well.

We wont hesitate to stay at Villa Cimbrone when we are on the Amalfi Coast again.

We just returned from a 2-week trip to Italy, with our last 5 days spent at Hotel Villa Cimbrone. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. The room (a suite with sea view) was spectacular, the food (breakfast and dinner) was excellent, the location was absolutely beautiful, and the service was superb. In particular, the staff were incredible, very professional and warm at the same time. We ate at the 2-Michelin-starred restaurant in the town (Ravello), and my husband and I agreed that dinner at Cimbrone was vastly superior, particularly for the price.

A couple of things to note - it is a bit of a walk to/from the hotel, with steps and inclines, which could be difficult for some. We didn't find it a problem. Second, we were there during a brief cold snap before the radiators were turned on for the Fall, and the room was pretty cold at times. We are used to this, having lived in Italy and preferring cool rooms when we sleep, but this could be a issue for some.

We had a fabulous time and will definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: If you can afford to pay a little more, upgrade to a room with sea view.
