“Breathtaking hotel in sun-drenched, authentic, uncrowded Ravello”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2014

My husband and I just returned from a 2-night stay at this astonishingly gorgeous property. I can say without hesitation that Palazzo Avino is the finest hotel in which either of us has ever had the privilege of staying, and we are big travelers. Superlatives cannot really do justice to the beauty of the rooms and their jaw-dropping views, the building and its common areas - furnishings, sculptures and Murano glass on display. The ambience is pure high luxury and the entire, marble-covered palazzo is completely spotless. As every other reviewer has said, the hotel's gardens and view are simply breathtaking. The terraces and jacuzzi-solarium for sunbathing and swimming are fantastic. The gracious, friendly and attentive (but not overly so) service of the expert staff is matchless. The Michelin-starred Rossellini's is everything you would expect from a world-class restaurant and then some. You simply must splurge (it is an eye-wateringly expensive hotel) and experience Palazzo Avino for yourself to believe a place this perfect actually exists. And Ravello itself is a magical Amalfi coast village. A dream from which we never wanted to wake!

Room Tip: The sea-view King room we had was on the small side - beautifully furnished with an unparalleled vie...

This past month I visited the Amalfi coast with family for the first time. Over 10 days we stayed in 5 different hotels (including the St. Regis in Rome and the Il San Pietro in Positano) and Palazzo Avino blew them all away.

I honestly dont know where to begin...I dont know what was better, the views, the staff, the service..they all were above and beyond.

STAFF:
Specifically I want to thank Antonio, Stefano, Salvatore, Catarina, Matteo, Daniele, Diego and Tiziana who all made their own separate impression on me with their friendly attitudes, attentiveness and professionalism. A special thanks to Diego who brought a full service cocktail hour to us in the lobby/lounge area, only to have us change our minds and go outside. He carried every last item down for us and refused to let us do any of the work. We all agreed he deserved a special call out in this review because of his attentiveness. I dont mean to leave anyone out, as the entire staff was fabulous, but these were among the staff whom I interacted directly with. I would also like to compliment the house staff who made sure that our rooms were spotless, checked in more than once a day to make sure that we had water, that our beds were turned down and that our room was clean and comfortable.

FOOD:
The restaurant in the hotel is top notch and definitely worth staying in for a night to try. I dont drink, but I was assured by my fellow travelers that the Mojito (made by Salvatore) and the James Bond martini are not to be missed.

AMENITIES:
I worked out every day that I stayed in Ravello simply because of the view from the gym .. bring your running shoes, you wont wait to miss out!

I cant wait to go back.

Room Tip: Ocean view has views of the ocean AND the mountain. If you can afford it, splurge for the views!

My husband and I spent 4 nights at this lovely hotel. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are lovely, the service is at least 7 star, the food was excellent and you WILL NOT find a cleaner property anywhere. ANYWHERE! I am picky, and when it comes to cleanliness I am a bit harsh on reviews. I challenged myself to find one thing that was not cleaned well at that hotel. It was impossible. They are expert in the way they clean.

The front desk staff was so nice, and special thanks to Antonio for helping us to find the perfect room. The breakfast staff was kind and gracious.

We will absolutely return to Palazzo Avino again and again. I cannot recommend a hotel anywhere in Italy as much as I can recommend this one.

And Ravello is beautiful place. We spent time in Amalfi, Sorrento, Positano and it was nice to go back to Ravello. It is away from the touristy environments and we loved that.

Thanks for everything. (And it is very clear why you win so many awards!)

This year my wife and I were both 50 and we celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary. Sue had had some illness and we wanted a very special hotel in a very special place.

Palazzo Avino fits the bill. It is a top flight, 5 star, hotel with impeccable service and wonderful facilities.

We stayed in a sea view junior suite. The room was sumptuous and the view was the best on earth! The room didn't have a DVD but one was provided for us to watch one of our movies on the one day it rained. It did have excellent Hotel movie channels.

Antonio provided the best guest service you could ask for. Trips were arranged on a bespoke basis and car hire was fixed for an open topped fiat 500, for us to drive the scenic coastal route.

Ravello itself has lots of little shops and the brilliant Villa Cimbrone, from which there are spectacular views.

We enjoyed the rooftop jacuzzi and I had a wonderful massage at the very pleasant Palazzo Avino spa.

We would return and give the hotel the best rating possible.

Honestly, it doesn't get better than this. I write this by the pool, in the gardens, of this magnificent hotel on the Amalfi coast.

Ravelli is our favorite town in all of Italy. It is high up I'm the mountains overlooking the breathtaking Amalfi coast. Down below Amalfi and Positano are overrun with tourists. Up here is a more authentic town with children playing in the square.

The view from this hotel is as nice as I have ever seen. As you look out to the left nearby are tall mountains whose tops are shrouded with clouds. To the right is the azure blue of the Mediterranean Sea. Down below are the scenic little towns of Minori and Majori. Beautiful.

A wonderful buffet breakfast, included in the not inexpensive price, is had outside enjoying the view. This is true of lunch as well. On a hot day the outdoor swimming pool beckons.

We were upgraded from a King mountain view to a King sea view. Either one will blow you away. Although the rooms are small by North American standards they are typical of European rooms. They are spotless, tastefully decorated and full of amenities. We were greeted with a bottle of wine and a fruit plate. There is turn down service in the evening. The bed is wonderful and the bathroom is small but complete.

The service, like the view, is perfect. The staff are friendly, helpful, attentive and professional.

We are here from Canada to celebrate our son's upcoming wedding June 1. This is the perfect town in its best hotel. If you can swing it treat yourself. You deserve it.

My wife and 2 daughters aged 21 and 18 celebrated our 25th anniversary and school graduations with a 3 night stay last week as part of our Italy trip. We were a little hesitant as this property is not inexpensive.. But we have to say we loved every minute and hated to leave! The views are so spectacular from everywhere in the hotel property. The service is second to none.. From the pre trip email quick replies, throughout the time we left they couldn't do enough for us to make us feel special. The rooms were spacious and high end.. We had mountain side rooms without the sea view, but we spent most of the time out of the rooms so we enjoyed the great views anyway. The breakfast buffet was really nice and included with the rooms at no extra cost. The staff there also couldn't do enough to please. We went to their beach club property one day which they shuttle you back and forth so you can spend some time on the water. It is also very nice, private and beautiful.. Also with staff that is attentive to every need. Special thanks to Antonio who helped us throughout!
Hopefully one day we can return for another special occasion.

This hotel is beyond 5 stars!!! From the moment they sent a driver to meet us on the dock that our private boat transfer from Capri arrived at, to when they met us out front and said don't worry about a thing. Directly to the rooms we went with prosecco in hand!! The rooms are beautiful and clean and the grounds are out of this world. The pool is the perfect temp and the spa is great. The martini bar is phenomenal and Stefano is the man!! So friendly and remembered what I liked night after night. The staff is so helpful and is literally right there anytime you need anything from a towel at the pool to a dinner reservation. Nothing is a problem. The beach club by the sea is amazing. Words and pictures really cant do any of it justice...you just have to be there!! While this hotel is not cheap it is worth every dollar!! I cannot wait to return!!!
