If you go to the village of Ravello, you can't miss vision of splendour. Villa Cimbrone is a recreation of gothic arches and landscaped gardens which although not very old (however, some of the columns and frescos are wonderfully old) but it's British aristocratic money spent with taste and style that you would never see today. I see why my dear dad loved the whole area so much. And the views are breathtaking. Just don't put all your faith in the buses! (Taxis do a very good trade up there!).
