We stayed here as part of a walking trip, and were very happy with it. Our room was downstairs so we had a ground floor patio area with two sun beds and outside access if you wanted it. The room was reasonable size which was great for us as we could spread out our walking gear (to dry - we hit a couple of rainy days).

The hotel is at the top end of the town, which as we enjoy walking we were very happy with. It is a 5-10 minute walk down to the main square. Ravello is largely car free, so I doubt if any of the hotels have a problem with traffic noise.

The hotel is only 2-3 minutes walk away from Villa Cimbrone - don't miss this, it's a wonderful park with sculptures scattered around it and a cafe at the far end overlooking the coast where it is very relaxing to sit and enjoy the scenery.

Breakfast was quite a good spread, plenty of choice. We didn't eat at the hotel but at Cumpa Cosimo, below the town square. This is a quirky little restaurant - not at all fancy, but a fun experience. The lady owner comes around all the time to chat and check that all is ok. I had the Gnocchi Sorrentina and it was so good that I had it somewhere else later on the trip - but it was nothing like as good as here. The portions aren't large but the price isn't too bad either. This is a place to go for good Italian cooking, but it isn't the place to sit and have a romantic evening - they are too busy for this and keep everything moving.

Room Tip: If you enjoy laying in the sun, ask for one of the rooms with the outdoor ground floor patio.

I went there for my best girlfriend's wedding. I was in a twin room and we were very well accommodated. Nice bathroom, antique bed, but good and a balcony with a beautiful view and comfortable chairs. The breakfast is delight. The pool area is excellent. The location is perfect, next to main square, stores and restaurants Summary: I highly recommend it. it's not cheap but worth it.

Ravello is beautiful and it's well worth a visit. The hotel is in a great location, with good views, all in all I do think it was a bit tired looking but then that's Italian hotels in general. Our first room was facing the pool and the piazza but it was a very small room with the smallest of twin beds and a small shower. (room 41) After two nights I did ask if it would be possible to be moved, the girl at reception was very helpful and we moved within half an hour. (room 27) The second room was much nicer it was larger and had a larger bed with bigger bathroom and corner shower, very large patio area with sunbeds, table etc. The view was equally as nice as this time we faced the mountains. (much quieter this side of the hotel too) Breakfast I thought was a bit basic but ok, staff polite.
The Villa Rufolo is well worth a visit but we enjoyed the Villa Cimbrone much more! a lovely walk to it and a really lovely place.
My husband attended the cooking school at Villa Maria (sister hotel of Giordano) for the afternoon, he loved it, picking the veggies from their garden and eating, drinking learning all afternoon, well worth doing.
Restaurants worth visiting: Although we visited various priced restaurants we really liked the Vittoria which is very close to the hotel, excellent food, reasonably priced you will need to book. We also ate at the Villa Maria very nice, Villa Rufolo, found this to be bit overpriced but food nice. We also ate at the Compa cosimo (not sure of spelling) this was a family run restaurant, very friendly, good value, bit basic.
if you are fit enough you could do the walk down to Minori, take the steps from the side of villa Rufolo and walk for approx an hour! down the steps it's a great walk lots of lovely views and you get to see/hear working life going on all around you. Get the bus back!!
Public buses are easy to use, you can buy tickets either at the machines near the bus stops or at the nearest tabachi (2.40 euros for a 45 min journey) Amalfi worth a visit as is Positano, get the bus to Amalfi and then boat to Positano (boat 8.00 Euros each way)
All in all a great holiday, would love to go back some day.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the mountains are quieter.

We were recommended to stay at Villa Maria but the receptionist picked up that this would be difficult due to my husband's mobility problems and suggested Hotel Giardino. Villa Maria is a good five minute steady (not steep) walk away up 30+ steps. Our double room with terrace was clean and comfortable with easy chairs and sun loungers. if I had to be nit picky I'd say some of the antique furniture has seen better days - our free standing bed heads banged against the wall with every movement. Other guests must have thought we were either on honeymoon or very energetic ;-). The staff were all lovely and helpful - they catered for my gluten free diet with out reminding at breakfast and lunch. It's a shame there isn't a restaurant but if there was there would be no reason to leave the hotel. Ravello has some good eating places and the views are fantastic. Although Hotel Giardino doesn't look out to sea there are lovely views across the hills.
The final reason we chose here was the secure car park. It takes some finding and negotiating but it's well worth the trouble. We will return.

What a fabulous setting for a wedding. We stayed here this September, along with many other wedding guests and held the reception at Villa Eva. All arranged through Wagner Tours, Ravello.

The hotel is very centrally situated and the staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was on the smaller side but there are plenty of choices. The room was always kept clean and the bed was very comfortable.

We stayed on bed and breakfast basis and nothing was missing from the buffet breakfast.

Room Tip: Always ask to see the room as there are various sizes in each category

So many of the hotels on the Amalfi coast leave to be desired that it is a pleasant surprise to discover a hotel with charm and character which is not an overpriced tourist trap. The hotel looks on Ravello's main square but is quiet. The rooms are small but pretty (beds rather hard) and have balconies with table and chairs where you can sit and relax. The hotel also offers free, shaded parking which is a real plus! The staff is polite and efficient, the whole hotel is spotlessly clean and breakfast is very good. Last but not least, it has a fantastic swimming pool with sunbeds all around offering sun or shade under some magnolia trees, and supervised by a very efficient pool attendant. We stayed 3 nights but would have loved to stay longer. Softer beds would be my only wish for improvement!

We have been staying at this hotel on and off for 25 years. The position is outstanding in its views and convenient for the shops. The cleanliness immaculate. all the rooms have Air Conditioning. It is twinned with the hotel Villa Maria which is ten minutes walk up the hill behind. The hotels are owned by the Palumbo family and the two sons are now running the venture. It is a traditional Italian hotel with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. It has a wonderful pool and the breakfasts are excellent. It is also possible to have a light lunch by the poolside, but for an evening meal you either walk up to the Villa Maria or choose one of the many superb eating places in the small town of Ravello.
In recent years the hotel has begun to cater for weddings which are often held at another villa owned by the family, The Villa Ava. Unfortunately, some of the wedding guests may be given rooms at the Giordano; and on occasions they may be drunk and disorderly (usually English) until the early hours of the morning. If you plan to take a room you will be comfortable and well served, but always check if there is going to be a wedding during your stay. We have been woken by inebriated youngsters several times recently in July/August.
This caveat is a shame because since the late 1980s we have had wonderful experiences at the Giordano and made good friends there.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good but ask to be shown around because they vary according to your tastes
