We could not have asked for more from our one week stay here. Provided you can cope with lots of steps and you are the kind of person who is happy to walk the relatively short distances to the next village and Amalfi then this wonderful small family run hotel is hard not to enjoy. This is the Amalfi coast so no attractive beaches, but wonderful swimming off the bathing platform. Delightful, helpful and friendly staff add to the enjoyment, as did the good wholesome food. During boat trips to Capri and Sorrento along the coast we did not see a more attractive hotel. The bus stop just outside the hotel makes car hire unnecessary.

We stayed 7 nights, and will be coming back again. Everything about this place is stunning from the location, views, the family who owns and runs this charming villa, and the food! The food is outstanding fresh, local, and homemade. The views take your breath away. A place of rejuvenation and relaxation. A heavenly place of beauty. Fitness included as stairs take you up and down this charming place.

Room Tip: Room 118 - small patio wonderful magnoila tree and views. Room 116 - great terrace and views

We stayed in this charming hotel for two nights.
If you're seeking a "room with a view" and wonderful home cooked three course meals then look no further.
The hotel gardens, the breakfast/dinner room are full of character and romantic charm. The rooms are simply appointed but the views (we had two different rooms during our stay) were nothing short of spectacular.
The wifi was poor - but we were too busy exploring the Amalfi to concern ourselves too much about internet access.
Highly recommend you go to the following gardens in Ravello to capture some amazing photographs - Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone.

Villa San Michelle has a stunning location: built into the cliff way below the town of Ravello. It is a family-run place, and includes half-board. The views from the rooms are absolutely gorgeous, and the many levels of the villa provide unexpected vistas from different angles. We had a huge terrace above the sea -- it was such a pleasure to be so immediately close to the sea. I give it a rating of 4 instead of 5 because the room wasn't great, particularly the bathroom -- the shower was very small and there was no place to put the towel. The dinners were exceptional -- the food is home-cooked on the premises and varies every days (for the 3 dinners we had). The breakfasts are boring -- they consist of a croissant and a piece of bread (the bread is fantastic though) every day.

Villa San Michelle is located in the town of Castiglione nr Ravello. It is built into the cliffs overlooking the Amalfi coast. The rooms have the most spectacular views and you can fall asleep, and wake, to the sound of the sea lapping against the rocks below your balcony.

Our half board rate included breakfast and dinner served in the hotel's dining area which has a great panoramic view over the sea. The meals are home cooked from local produce and absolutely delicious.

The service is excellent - a real family-run feel.

Thoroughly recommend and will definitely be coming back.

This is a beautiful spot, away from it all (at least it seems that way), with beautiful views and excellent food. You really must be prepared for the stairs - I lost count how many there were. And, in order to get to Amalfi, you have to take a walk down a hill (and then back up) or Ravello requires a bus (but it is quick). The wi-fi doesn't work so well. But really, the place is so special these little inconveniences only added to the charm. The owner is also a sommelier and can recommend some incredible local wines. The food is fantastic. Enjoy! Bring a good book and hang out on the deck for a while. I wish I had done more of that when I was there.

Equalling the magnificent beauty of the Amalfi Coast was the service, hospitality, warmth and kindness of the people at Villa San Michele (VSM). I could not have picked a more romantic place to take my wife on our honeymoon.

VSM is conveniently located below Ravello, my favorite town, and provided easy access to Atrani, Amalfi, Positano and Capri while maintaining serene ambiance.

Most importantly, the care and attentiveness of the owners and staff was off the charts.

I'd give 6 stars if I could and we cannot wait to return.
