“Great place to stay!”
Reviewed 10 May 2010

My sister and I stayed at this hotel last month and loved it! As far as I could see, this was the only Villa on the water. There were other hotels that had a beach and a street between the property and the water, but there is nothing between you and the water here. We had a large patio and we slept with our doors open. There is nothing like going to sleep to the sound of the ocean and waking up to the sun shining in.
While this Villa is located slightly off the beaten path, we found it to be very centrally located and easy to get anywhere we wanted to go. 25 min ferry ride to Positano. 15 minute bus up the mountain to Ravello, 5 min walk to Atrani, 8 min walk to Amalfi Town. The bus stop is literally at the front of this Villa, and the staff is very willing to help make sure you get where you want to go.
There are a lot of stairs to climb between the bedrooms and the dining room and the front desk, but the view is so gorgeous you will hardly notice the effort.
I can't wait to go back!

We absolutely loved this hotel....it is quaint and charming and the owners and staff are so friendly and accomodating, we felt like we were leaving friends when we left. The hotel looks just as beautiful as the website, the gardens and views are gorgeous. It only has 12 rooms, and you have so much privacy. Last time I was on the Amalfi coast, I stayed in the Santa Caterina, a 5 star hotel and I liked this hotel much better. The owners prepare the meals and the food was incredible, all fresh and so delicious. It is a good location to get to the town center of Ravello, Amalfi and Positano. Having access to the mediterrean is a premium and the hotel has a beautiful deck at the sea with a ladder that you can use to swim. It is one of the most special vacations I have ever had! You will absolutely love this place!

It is a small quaint hotel, very relaxing. Not vast menu, but nevertheless excellent. Great Food and Great Wine. Beautiful view of the sea and the bay.

It is 3rd time we are staying there, 2nd time with extended family. This hotel is one of the best places we have ever visited - and we have visited a lot. What makes this place special is the friendly family running the hotel, the unique location and spectacular views of the Salerno bay. The experience of sitting the private terrace enjoying the view of the coast is magical and magically relaxing. Same goes for the evening dinner served by Emilian and Nicola in wonderful small restaurant, true Neapolitan style meals, freshly prepared. This hotel serves as an excellent starting point for daily hikes - to Ravello, Amalfi, Atrani and the hills beyond the coast. If you are looking for relaxing, cozy and friendly place look no further.

This was our second visit to the Villa. The stay was just over two weeks. Unique to the experience is the way Emillio, Nicola, Rosa and Leo adopt you while you're there. The facilities speak for themselves... they are beautiful and exceedingly well kept.

The unique location makes the adventure of local transport to nearby Amalfi towns easy and fun. The Villa is not just a wonderful place to stay it's a second home and family for us.

We stayed here last October and we have been drawn back to this wonderful hotel as if by a magnet. The hotel is negotiated by terraces, one has lemons growing, one has pomegranates growing and all have wonderful flowers in abundance. The bedrooms look directly over the sea so the sunrise is absolutely wonderful - literally a golden orb rises majestically over an azure sea. There is no beach at this point of the coast by a sun terrace and a swimming jetty enables you to enjoy the wonderful sea and sun. The town of Amalfi is only a walk away and the hilltop resort of Ravello is just an exciting bus ride away. The Villa San Micelle is a family run hotel that is a real home from home but with the beauty of Italy on your doorstep. The Time Out guide wrote that it was the one to choose if you didn’t want to burn your credit card. What if failed to say was that the value for money is superb.
