“A little place of paradise”

We stayed in the beautiful, well cared for 2 bedroom villa in the beautiful hills of Ravello. I would like to share the Villa itself then the location

The villa
When we arrived at the villa, having met the rep in the square in Ravello (easy & non complicated) it took my breath away. It was more beautiful than the pictures show. The aroma of the jasmine filled the air. The garden is immaculate & never seen such green healthy grass. I would imagine it is one of the few Ravello accommodations that had a garden that size.... my 15 & 13 year old children were able to play ball in it. There is also a small basket ball net at the side of the villa which the children loved. The covered terrace is very pretty with tied drapes down the side. It has outside table & seating for meals. The view from the villa is the other side of the valley & stunning both day & night when the sun goes down & the moon rises. Both bed rooms have a double bed & are simplistically but beautifully decorated. Our children are older so worked well to use the sofa bed in the kitchen which was easy to use & did not effect our stay or bed time. The kitchen & bathroom were clean & easy to use although there is no oven (just a hob) but this did not stop us from cooking some delicious meals - usually pasta with local produce (small market on Tuesday morning beside the villa). There is a washing machine which also had washing liquid. It all exceeded our expectations.

Location - did we need to hire a car?
The villa was located just below (literally) Ravello square & beautiful lanes, which provided immediate access up some steps (not steep) outside the villa gates yet having complete privacy & quiet of the villa. After booking the villa we were concerned that Ravello was too far from the coast & transport links but in fact there were enough buses to & from Amalfi that there was never a problem. We were glad the experienced bus drivers were getting us there & never regretted not hiring a car. We travelled on the ferry from Amalfi to the other little coastal towns which is the best & most beautiful way to travel. Ferrys are also frequent enough. We went to Pompeii for the day from Amalfi, travelling on the ferry to Salerno then train to Pompeii. All time tables for local buses, trains & ferries are accessible on intranet so we printed them off before we left UK.
Just a note if you go to Pompeii, it is within walking distance from the train station so don't pay loads of money for minibus service to take you. It is not necessary.
We walked down the Ravello steps to Amalfi which took about 40 minutes. It is really steep but has rails pretty much all the way. It is safe but just hard work, especially when we decided to climb back up them! Don't wear flip flops & take lots of water

We had our amazing holiday at the end of May for a week & felt it was the right time of year as it was hot but not too hot, getting busy but can imagine the summer would be heaving. Although I would never turn down an opportunity to go to the Amalfi coast or Villa Enza.... we have amazing memories of a true little paradise....

“Lovely villa in the heart of Ravello”

We loved the property - great views, lovely garden and outside dining space. The agent (English speaking) was really helpful and got an issue fixed promptly. 2 double bedrooms (both good size and nicely decorated) and parking space were a real benefit of this property. I would definitely recommend both the property and location. We were able to visit Pompeii, Vesuvius and Amalfi Coast easily and it was an easy wander up to Ravello main square for cafes etc.

The only minor reasons we didn't rate it excellent were the slightly smaller living space (kitchen/dining/lounge) and no oven (but plenty of hobs) in the kitchen. We stayed in October and had some rain/cold evenings - in summer you wouldn't even notice it as the outside dining space was perfect.

“Una vacanza meravigliosa!”

A wonderful holiday in the most idyllic location. We were met promptly at the villa by Imma, the local agent, who couldn't have been more helpful. We were introduced to Giovanni, the owner, who generously invited us to help ourselves to fresh produce from his garden.
The villa had a fantastic location in beautiful gardens with outdoor seating and dining. It was spotlessly clean, well equipped and comfortable.
Ravello is stunning with relatively inexpensive and regular public transport to other neighbouring towns. You can walk the steps or paths to Minori & Maiori or Amalfi if you are up for the challenge.
On Tuesday morning there is a local produce market outside the gates to the villa, which was fun for a local shopping experience.
Can't recommend this holiday location enough.

Dear Massimiliano,
Dear Giovanni,

at the end of our 8-days-stay in Your house and garden in Ravello we want to say, that we had wonderfull holidays here. First we thank You for the kindly wellcome-letter we found in the house in perfekt German. We appreciate this sign of hospitality to greet us in our own language.

You mentioned that You took it as obligation from Your parents to make the house hostile and comfortable and we can assure You that You fullfilled this duty quite well. We know no holiday house which is so beautiful and well established than Yours. The spacious garden, his green meadow, the flowers and the places for having rest all is well arranged and shows a loving hand. Above all this magic place lies only some steps away from Piazza dell Duomo and is nevertheless calm and silent.

We came by car and so we were very happy that we could use a locked place close to the house.

You mentioned Ravello as city of music and we also came, to find out, why Richard Wagner among many other artists became so enthusiastic over this place. We now understand this quite well and one of the reasons is that Your house and lovely garden stands for this spirit too. You showed us a hidden paradise which we never will forget.

I write this letter in English because both of us understand this language. But the visit in Your beautiful country encourages me to improve my Italian.

Thank You very much and best regards

Klaus and Anita from Erfurt, Germany

I stayed here for a week with my husband and two sons 15 & 12 .Its a fantastic place to stay, the gardens are truly beautiful with amazing views.
We where met at the villa promptly the owners where all very friendly and helpful.
Theirs fabulous home grown produce which you can help yourself too, tomatoes, salad, olives, fruit, lemons, herbs etc Which is great if you like to cook.
The outside dining area & lounging area is lovely the photos really don't do it justice.
Nicely decorated inside and spotlessly clean.
This is a great location only 2 minutes away from the Ravello centre yet very peaceful and private, within easy walking distance of a butchers, great fishmongers, groceries and many cafes and restaurants.
The villa is well kitted out with plenty of crockery ( we entertained 12 people with no problems) theirs a washing machine, iron, hair dryer etc.all that you really need.
The wine in Ravello is excellent ,which is always a bonus
A Truly amazing place that exceeded our expectations,we will definitely return.
Many thanks the Morris family

“Heaven on Earth?”

Well actually we live in Lympstone, Devon UK and that's HoE - but this comes a very near second. This and the other villa sit in lush gardens of flowers and fruit trees looking south west to west over the valley with Scala on the other hill. It takes your breath away. The picture shows the views from the terrace over this scene - I sat there every morning for breakfast to admire this superb view.
Just off the main car park the villa is a very short climb to the main square of Ravello a lovely place to people watch - and watch the European Cup Football! That said it is very quiet with little noise from the square. Just up the road was a very good restaurant - not exceptional but neither was it too pricey (see my other comments on restaurants) .
There is private parking - very rare in this area but beware the drivers and roads if you are not too confident. Public Transport is very cheap e 1.2 to Amalfi and e 1.8 to Positano with ferries at about e5. So a car is not too important once at the villa. If you come from the autostrada at Angri over the mountain you avoid the coast roads and the passage is pretty good. Forget taxis they are over e40 for the e1.2 to Amalfi!!! Trains are also very cheap from Salerno to Naples
Lots to see in Ravello and best done early and later in day to avoid coach parties. The Villa Cimbrone is quite quite awe inspiring with its balcony over the cliffs.
If you have a car try to get over to Scala etc and look back at Ravello and also carry on up into the hills at the back.
Have I said everything? The owner speaks no English but understands mime and is exceedingly charming and lives in Salerno. I suspect that the 2 villas have just been upgraded - there was no oven, microwave or toaster just a 4 ring hob. He and agent agreed to get that sorted asap - lovely people and a wonderful villa.
WE WILL BE BACK.
