Reviewed 12 July 2013 via mobile

We are recently back from wonderful two week holiday in riva , the hotel is a 3star but more like a 4 star , it is well maintained and has a wonderfull pool , and bbq area, it is a good ten minute walk to riva, but is made short by the beautiful lake and scenery on the way to riva , there are plenty of wonderful restaurants close by but the food in the hotel is also good, the staff are extremely helpfull and very freindly and made our stay very enjoyable indeed , I am try hard to find a fault but cant realy, however onething did leave a sour taste , when we booked the holiday with cassiddy travel we asked was there a possibility of a balcony we were told it would be an extra 200 euro, we thought it was very dear but paid the 2oo euro anyway, when we got to the hotel there were balconys everywhere bar maybe some to the front, they Were not private balconys but continuous landings with flower pots for dividers,
We thought this was a bit cheeky, but when we asked other guests what they had paid we found no one else had paid for a baclony , we complained to the rep but with no joy , so we really felt ripped off, if you dont book a balcony the likely hood is you will have one anyway, top flight or cassidy travell pulled a fast one, yes we will go back to the amdassador

Dear customer,

Thank you for your review! We are happy to know that you have enjoyed the hospitality of our staff. In order to compensate for the lack of the restaurant in high season we organize theme dinners during the week, or for a quick meal or snack our guests may apply to the bar. Thanks for the appreciation about the size of the rooms, many with fully equipped kitchenette, and services offered. One of our best point is definitely the breakfast buffet, always full of fresh products, to start the day with a power breakfast!

Come back soon! We send you our best regards.

Stayed here for 3 nights with my two girls & enjoyed it. Great place for sailing.

The hotel is a bit out of the town but this means the pool area is quite large. Other activities available & eating outside. We had adequate lunch but preferred to go into town for evening meal with more atmosphere.

A leisurely 20-30 min walk to Riva but for us the highlight was being able to cycle into the town mainly on cycle paths. Our price included free bikes though I think other people had to pay. There were limited bikes especially for children. I imagine in peak season it might be hard to get bikes.

We only discovered there was a small kitchen off our room which was locked which would have been handy if we where staying longer. Not sure if this was extra.

We had two rooms but we had to go through one room to get to toilet which was om for us but not for everyone.

It's not 5* but everyone was sad to leave We would go back.

Dear customer,

Thank you for your review, your satisfaction makes us very happy, about the distance from the historic center of Riva del Garda, we have introduced a bicycle service in order to allow our guests to join it in a practical and fast way. The use of bicycles is included in the price for those who book a stay in superior or deluxe room. Usually the number of city bikes is sufficient for customers who request them, however we take note of your comment about the small number of children's bikes. Several rooms are equipped with a kitchenette, in some solutions is included in the price in others you can use it paying a small fee. All your opinions are very useful for us, in this way we can continuously improve our services, please note that for our clients who wish to rebook a stay directly with us, there is a 5% discount on rates.
We send our best wishes and we hope to welcome you again with us.

I will keep this short...

I stayed here for 7 nights and had the best sleep in months! The bed was so comfortable. The surrounding area and hotel were nice and quiet. The view from my room was stunning overlooking the mountains.

Great location- 20-25min walk into the centre of Riva. Bike hire available.

Friendly staff, spotlessly clean. All in all I would definitely stay here again.

Thanks for a comfortable stay.

Room Tip: Room on a higher floor

Spent a week here with my hubbie and two friends for a week beginning 24th September. Had a great time. Really friendly, helpful staff. My hubbie and I had a suite which was spacious and came complete with a kitchenette and a balcony. Our friends had hotel rooms which were very spacious. We made good use of the hotel bar. The drinks were very reasonable. 2 euros for a glass of red or white wine, amazing value. 8 euros 50 for a bottle of pino grigio, what more could you want. All the staff were very welcoming. Lots of restaurants nearby and a 20 min walk into Riva, what more could you want.

Room Tip: Request a room with a balcony.

My husband & I stayed in the Ambassador Hotel for a week beginning 25th August, so we are not long back, and already I want to return to the Ambassador and beautiful Riva. I can highly recommed this hotel for couples & families alike, everyone is catered for. The hotel rooms are very spacious with plenty storage & the whole hotel was spotlessly clean from the moment we arrived. We had a room with a balcony & Air con, both of which I would advise. The pool area is lovely with a spectacular view of the Dolomite mountains... best pool view I've had in a while....There is a bar area, not "rocking" but we had a few drinks there almost every night and the lovely girl at the bar makes the best Mojitos! Also on the morning of our Venice trip, as we had an early start the owner was very accomodating in allowing us to have our breakfast at least half an hour before the dining room opened. This hotel fully deserves it's three stars and we would have no problem recommending it to all.

Room Tip: Mountain view if available & balcony & air con.

We are a couple who have just stayed 7 nights B&B at this Hotel. We booked it with Topflight from Ireland so we have our transfers arranged.
We chose this Hotel based on its location, its price and other reviews commented on its Gluten Free options at Breakfast as I am a Coeliac.
We had not been to Lake Garda before and chose Riva as it has a reputation as the most vibrant of the Lake Towns.
Hotel is well run, it is very clean, its facilities are very good, but 100% aimed at families with kids.
There are 2 accommodation options here, self catering apartments and Hotel Rooms, we went for the Hotel room option as we had read that the apartments only get cleaned once a week which is the case.
Check in was quick and easy, we have an averaged sized Hotel room with stunning views of the mountains on both sides.
The Hotel serves a very good breakfast and caters for both hot and cold breakfast lovers.
The Pool is an OK area, there is no bar, in fact, there is no drink allowed by the pool, again, aimed towards kids, which is good, but if you are a couple reading this, beware. The one big negative of the Hotel and it is a strange one, is that the water in the pool is FREEZING!!!!!! Now.......I am Irish, so you would think and Irishman sitting in 35C wants the pool cold, no, this is proper cold, people were complaining about it and if we had of brought our 1 year old on this holiday, I would not have been happy letting him in there.

The Hotel has a "bar" / "reception" area, its actually quite similar to a Hostel type scenario. However, they serve all the normal drinks and there is a snack bar.
There is no entertainment here or any sort of encouragement to keep you at the Hotel in the evenings. We are not into staying in the Hotel anyway, so it suited to wander out.
There are plenty of restaurants on your doorstep here, 99% are all in the one direction, which is left and 2 mins to the lake area.
There is however one fantastic restaurant which is to the right, you need to walk about 5 mins and through some grapevine areas, ask the Hotel, trust me!

Overall, again, if you have young kids, this is a great spot, Riva is 20 mins walk way also.
If your a couple like us, I would stay somewhere else.

D.

Room Tip: Mail the hotel like I did, asking for a room overlooking the mountains, we stayed in 430, I would re...
