Good clean rooms, friendly service, they arranged all our car parking passes etc, balcony essential, wonderful views of the old town, shame about no pool/spa but in a central location. PLanning on returning again next year.

Didnt sample the food as was bed and breakfast only, breakfast was fine also.

Overall- A great platform to launch your holiday from.

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Antico Borgo and did not want to come home. It was everything and more we had hoped for. We requested a quiet room at the back of the hotel with a balcony and got exactly that. The balcony was secluded from which we had a lovely rooftop and mountain view. As it was September the sun had disappeared over the mountain by the time we returned from our adventures but we made the most of the early morning sunshine which we were very lucky to have for most of the week. I have missed the nearby clock chiming seven to signal time for us to rise. Which incidentally does not strike through the night. Back to the hotel. The courtesy of all the staff are second to none and we would particularly like to thank the Receptionist, Katia, and the Head Waiter for making our stay so memorable. We only stayed for bed and breakfast but will have half board on our return, which will be the same time next year and we propose to book soon in order to secure the same room, which was on the fourth floor. The room number will remain our secret! The room was spotless, with a lovely shower room and the towels were changed very frequently. The location of the hotel is perfect as it is central but very close to the lakeside. The bus service to surrounding areas is good and very reasonable and the lake trips to Limone and Malcesne are not to be missed. All in all we cannot wait to return.

Room Tip: Ask for a high room at the back of the hotel.

We have just returned from our week long stay and we were not disapointed. The hotel is very well situated in the old town. It was very easy to get about being so central and all the shops restaurants and cafes were within easy reach. The hotel staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the restaurant Manager and his staff very pleasant. We requested a lower level room and were given room 101 which was very well situated for the lift although we could not hear it. The room itself was large modern bright and airy and the window overlooking said shops was double glazed so we had a fab nights sleep with no noise from outside at any time of day or night. The air con worked well and was not noisy. Bathroom very good standard with walkin shower. Room and bathroom were spotlessly clean.
Regarding the food, breakfast was quite adequate with a good selection. Evening meal was satisfactory and there was a very good choice, but sometimes it could be described as somewhat bland. However, this was a minor issue.
We would definitely go back to this hotel as we liked the ambience, the location and the staff.

We stayed at this hotel a couple of weeks ago for 5 nights on the KGB deal by Holidaysbooked.com.

With regards to the booking through holidaysbooked, it was pretty easy and quick to book with them. I had read previous reviews stating how they were not informed of the inclusive/exclusive drinks etc however we experienced no problems at all. The transfer was worth the extra £50 as we were met at the airport within 10 minutes of arrival and the minibus was very clean. Although, for those who have never experienced the thrills of Italian driving, you may be shocked especially when driving through the tunnels through the mountains at high speeds.

With regards to the hotel, overall I was satisfied by my stay. I usually stay in 2-3 stars back in England so this 4-star was quite different. The furnishings within the room and restaurant are very modern and clean. Our room was relatively small and did not include a "view" but we spent most of our time outside of the room so didn't think this was a problem.
The reception desk staff were very helpful, especially when having problems with our electric within our room. They fixed it within 5 minutes of us informing them!
The food was a little weird compared to English cuisine and the courses were quite small, however you do get 4 courses and I was very full after every evening meal. I was disappointed at the lack of Italian food available within the hotel though. I was looking forward to lots of pasta, pizza etc but we could only saw pasta on the menu once. However the meals were very quick and the restaurant manager was very friendly and welcoming.

Overall, we had a great holiday and enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

One thing that I will suggest to improve the hotel would be the electrics within the room. I was quite confused by the electrics/air conditioning and it took a while to work out how to use it. So perhaps a guide provided within the room would be helpful to other guests.

Also, a tip for those thinking of hiring bikes in Riva del Garda: We hired two bikes for a full day for 15 euros each. This was the cheapest we found in Riva (other places were more like 20-25 euros each). The shop was called Happy Bikes and is situated on the main road between Riva and Torbole. There are a few other bike shops along this road, however this one was the cheapest and the nearest to Torbole. It took about 15-20 minutes to walk to it from Riva centre, hence why it is probably the cheapest. Happy Bikes were very helpful and guided us on where to go. In the end, we biked along the river, up through Arco, Dro and eventually through beautiful vineyards and orchards near Sarche (25k from Riva).

My wife and I recently stayed at the Antico Borgo on a half board package with Crystal. I was very pleasantly surprised, the hotel is very very clean, bright and well maintained (unlike some other Italian hotels I have stayed at) and the staff were excellent and extremely helpful. The room we had was light and airy and the A/C worked a treat. The breakfast was very good, but on some nights, the evening meal was just adequate. I suspect there are 2 chefs...... as the majority were good, but 2 nights...Urmmmm. Having said that the difference is price between B&B and Half Board is miniscule, equating to approx 1 or 2 nights eating out, so in terms of value they were worthwhile, plus booking Half Board gives you the opportunity to pick or choose, without losing too much money.
Overall, this is an excellent hotel, with excellent staff and the location is brilliant and quiet yet within 3 - 10 minutes waliking distance of most attraction in the old town.

My husband and I stayed here the first week in September for 1 week. The hotel is situated in a little backstreet, behind the Piazza 3 Novembre and it's a 2 minute easy walk to said square. There is a gentle incline as you leave the square up to the hotel but it's very easy to manage. We had room 203 . This room overlooks the street but there is very little sound due to the double glazing. The room and hotel itself were spotlessly clean. The room was comfortable enough but I found that there was very little space to put our bits and pieces - no drawer space, limited hanging space and just a couple of smallish shelves to put our clothes. There was a desk which had to have all our other belongings, make up, toiletries, cameras etc etc and this was permanently cluttered. The bathroom too had no means to hold our toiletries either, just a very small part of the sink was usable, we ended up filling the bidet with all our stuff!! The beds were 2 single ones just pushed together and this was very annoying. The air conditioning unit made a groaning sound every 10 mins or so and this was loud enough to wake us up throughout the night - not great!! We were on a B&B basis and concluded that this was a good move on our part. The breakfast fare was ok, typical continental style breakfast but the coffee was just plain awful -resembled nothing like proper coffee- hard to believe that we were in a country that does the loveliest coffee in the bars and restaurants . We spoke to some other guests who were on half-board and they had 2 evening meals then decided that eating outside was a better idea.. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful however . Overall, this is a good hotel, superbly situated and nice people and I would recommend for 1 weeks stay - there simply isn't the facilities in the room for a two week stay with loads of stuff.

Room Tip: if you go for a room with a balcony, be aware that several of them are anything but private! You may...

Location is good (In Riva it's nice to be in the old town, the hotels along the beach are anodyne and aside from the beach it's pretty dreary and busy; the town is quiet and pretty charming when not overrun by tour groups and rampaging mountain bikers). Price is OK, not a great deal though. Rooms are small, even for an Italian small-town hotel (I've stayed in many). Management and staff are pretty friendly, though they are understaffed and thus often harried and distracted. Breakfast was average, coffee was awful, an unpardonable sin in Italy. There's a little family-run cafe next door which will serve you a good cappuccino for 1 Euro, which comes with free, high-speed wifi (unlike the lobby of the Borgo; there's no access from the rooms at all, and you pay in the lobby). Probably would not return, but it was alright.
