We have just returned from a weeks stay at Hotel Antico Borgo and I can say without doubt that it is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in.This is my 3rd visit to Lake Garda and I think this is my favourite spot, not only is it slap bang in the middle of Riva but it is spotlessly clean. The staff, especially,Kuitim[apologies for spelling]who is the head waiter and all his staff could not do enough for us and enjoyed the 'craic' that we had at meal times, they were so attentive. The girls at reception were equally as good. Our rooms were cleaned everyday to a very high standard and towels changed regularly. This hotel was located a few streets away from the main square so you could stroll down at night without having to worry about getting back as some of the other hotels were about 15-20 mins walk away.If you are looking for a quality hotel look no further than the Antico Borgo,I will definately be returning.

Room Tip: Try to get a room at the back of hotel.

Brilliantly situated in the hub of Riva del Garda, this hotel is charming, clean, comfortable, with attentive , professional and friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. Only a small hotel and lacking a pool but this is a plus to us !!! The rooftop terrace is adequate for relaxing on a sunny day. If you need further refreshment you can soon amble to the lakeside for a refreshing dip from the public beaches and gardens or easily wander down to a lakeside bar for liquid refreshment of the internal kind !!!! Riva is a stunningly beautiful town full of shops, bars and restaurants and all within easy reach from this hotel.
Most rooms just have windows onto the streets below, but check out those with balconies if this is important to you.
Breakfast is from 7.30 to 10,so you can sleep in !!! Adequate and tasty, fresh warm croissants to scrambled egg and all sorts inbetween !!
Didn't have dinner there as we ate out, but the option is there and looked good.
Part of blu hotels so check out their website. Worth every penny.

This hotel is a real gem!
The room was very clean, the staff were exceptional, the food was good too! Although the hotel is located on a busy street in the pedestrian area of Riva, with shops and restaurants it's suprisingly quiet. We stayed half board for 10 days in September 2013 and couldn't fault a thing. Would happily return again and again.
Special thanks to Kujtim the Head Waiter and Katia the Receptionist who were so friendly and made us feel like we were the only guests they were looking after.
A memorable stay and one we hope to repeat.

We have just stayed for a week at the Antico Borgo, the Hotel is lovely, well located, the rooms are lovely, extremly clean and the staff were really helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast was good with plenty to choose from, Dinner however was a little disappointing the first course is a help yourself buffet which was lovely, we tended to fill up on this as the second and third courses which are served to you are very small and on some evenings were not to our liking, puddings okay though, we also felt that we could not linger and finish our wine at the table after we had eaten as they were clearing tables all around us and resetting them for breakfast. We had a lovely holiday and would definetly stay at this hotel again but only on B&B basis.

Room Tip: We had a balcony which was lovely

I booked this for four couples and we stayed for 5 nights at the Antico Borgo. This is a lovely hotel in a great location. The staff were great and very helpful, especially the head waiter in the dining room. All the food was very nice and if there was something that one person did not like to eat, there was no hesitation of changing it. The breakfast was excellent as well and there was plenty on offer. We had a lovely rooftop balcony and even though we are located in the town we did not hear any noise at all. All in all a great holiday and an excellent hotel.

Room Tip: We were on the top floor with a lovely balcony and as stated it was lovely and peaceful.

My boyfriend and I recently enjoyed a 3 night stay at the Antico Borgo (2nd-5th April). From beginning to end our stay here was fantastic! Every employee we came into contact with were exceptionally helpful, friendly and very genuine. Our room (gorgeous!!) was located close to the solarium (outdoor sun terrace), which was a lovely place to spend the evening before venturing into the town. As for the food, the ordering procedure was very practical; the 3 course evening meal was selected at breakfast and brought directly to your personal table at whatever time you arrive that evening. The food quality was great, we experience some real Italian treats such as Canneloni Spinaci Ricotta, Lasagne, selection of cured meats (I would highly recommend opting for)....also some great deserts, the favourite being the Berry Pane-cotta! Unfortunately we didn't catch the names of the wonderful staff, but I believe the female to be the manager who gave us great advice & information about tourist aspects of our stay. A lovely gentleman, middle aged, constantly working, made our stay that extra but special with his kind & passionate service.

The town itself is simply 'stunning'. Head north and visit the local waterfall (15min walk). If the weather is nice & the lake calm, definitely hire a pedallo...a couple of blissful hours would go unmissed...maybe even take a bottle of champaign on with you!!

The boat trip is recommended to see the whole lake & surrounding towns. A lot of bell towers...worth a climb for €2 to see the panoramas!

Sirmione is also worth a visit, takes a while on the boat but it is a very picturesque town with some interesting history such as the ruins of an ancient roman villa! Aquaria, the thermal spa in Sirmione is lovely & something to experience.

Overall, we loved our stay and it made our first holiday together extra special :)

Good clean rooms, friendly service, they arranged all our car parking passes etc, balcony essential, wonderful views of the old town, shame about no pool/spa but in a central location. PLanning on returning again next year.

Didnt sample the food as was bed and breakfast only, breakfast was fine also.

Overall- A great platform to launch your holiday from.
